Finally: Hillary attacks Obama’s foreign policy credentials; Update: Hillary’s own supporters oppose seating Florida, Michigan delegates

That’s super, but as Sandler so memorably put it in The Wedding Singer, this is something that could have been brought to our attention yesterday.
There’s been a lot of talk about withdrawal and redeployment and I think it needs to be put into an appropriate context. Withdrawing troops is not easy. One does not wake up in the morning and say let’s bring them home. It requires planning that looks at every possible contingency. That’s why last spring I began pushing the Bush administration to tell us what planning had gone on, whether they were ready to bring our young men and women home…
If I am entrusted with the presidency, America will have the courage, once again, to meet with our adversaries. But I will not be penciling in the leaders of Iran or North Korea or Venezuela or Cuba on the presidential calendar without preconditions, until we have assessed through lower level diplomacy, the motivations and intentions of these dictators…
One thing the American people can be sure of, I will not broadcast threats of unilateral military action against a country like Pakistan just to demonstrate that I am tough enough for the job. We have to change our tone and change our course.
Everyone got that? The big knock on Obama from his right is that he’s (a) not serious enough about surrendering in Iraq, (b) ever so marginally more willing to gladhand cretinous Holocaust deniers like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and (c) much tougher on Pakistan than Hillary would ever dream of being. I’m tempted to tell her to go home, but never mind. Texas is going to tell her for me.
Exit question quotation: Read the last line at the end of this piece to see what President Obama would regard as warmongering.
Update: Actually, don’t go home, Hillary. Just keep doing what you’re doing. “[C]ore opposition to McCain, the least of any candidate’s, is the same as in December; whereas strong opposition to Obama has jumped seven percentage points.”
Update: The people who backed the wrong horse start to hedge their bets.
[Hillary supporter and Pennsylvania Gov. Ed] Rendell said the Clinton camp could not make a convincing case that Michigan delegates should be added to her column: “You can’t make any argument in Michigan, because Hillary was the only person who was on the ballot. I’m as avid a Hillary supporter as there is, but I don’t think we can make an argument in Michigan.”…
[Hillary supporter and New Jersey Gov. Jon] Corzine said that a fair resolution would be for the two states to vote again. Because of their importance in presidential elections, neither state should be “disenfranchised,” said Corzine, who has endorsed Clinton.

Come on, I just saw the guy in traditional Somali dress, what more foreign policy credentials do you need?

I think its great the Clintons are burning bridges with blacks and bringing Obama down with them. Its like watching Scarlett O Hara burn Atlanta herself to save Tara.

Allah, all us good Texicans got to turn out for Hillary. We must keep the Beast alive to do her worst. And that also involves caucusing for her as well; in my precinct, it’s likely I’ll get as far as the county convention. Might even take a shot at state by pushing my ancient history of running a county level party organization (just won’t say which Party). Singlehandedly, I might revive the previously extinct Zell Miller wing of the Party.
michaelo on February 25, 2008 at 4:34 PM
Just goes to show how poorly Clinton has campaigned. There has been no clear focus or message to her speeches. She ends up quoting that “day one” stuff. I guess the real question is if she just did a bad job or was she so certain that she’d be the nominee at this point she didn’t have a strategy for a real primary contest.
The only candidate of either party who mucked it up more was Rudy.
highhopes on February 25, 2008 at 4:39 PM
I don’t know who to believe anymore. They all say the same dang thing, then go around and go I can do better then so and so.
Asking them a question concerning foriegn on anything, is like nailing jello to a tree!
As for the war…. Should I even bother?

Oh for the love!
Weight of Glory on February 25, 2008 at 4:40 PM
Are you kidding me? No way either state should be allowed to vote again. Everyone played by the rules in those states except Hillary, and you got the choices you had.
Their importance in the process got screwed because both states chose to move up their place in the primaries and the DNC slammed them for it.
You made the rules, you live by them.
lawhawk on February 25, 2008 at 4:40 PM
Haha! Good one.
I’m glad Hillary is finally DOING HER JOB and putting some tiny chinks in Obammessiah’s armor. I hope she keeps it up. The idea of this young ‘un with control of our purse strings and nukes makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.

Maybe Obama’s foreign policy staff doesn’t know about the role of Iran in the IEDs in Iraq? Personally, I get a little touchy about people who go to great lengths to kill American soldiers and Marines. Call me old fashioned.
snaggletoothie on February 25, 2008 at 4:41 PM
LOL…vote again. Perfect moonbat logic. We should just do the 59595 text message thing. $1 a call goes to the DNC.
Limerick on February 25, 2008 at 4:43 PM
You think any liberal changing the rules and then complaining about them later, is going to stop?
No conservatives can’t do that, yet liberals are always allowed too. I wonder if it is to show them that 1. they screwed up and have to learn (haha that doesn’t happen often does it) or 2. let them make a donkey of themselves in public view?
Blah!
upinak on February 25, 2008 at 4:44 PM
Allah I just sent in the nader story but there is video with that as well its great to see him trashing Hillary and Obama.
William Amos on February 25, 2008 at 4:46 PM
Please.
Rudy’s flameout was nothing compared to Mitt’s. Rudy was “one and done”. Mitt lost every belwether primary despite outspending his apallingly weak opponents.
Mike Honcho on February 25, 2008 at 4:47 PM
Pretty much. She had the blind ambition and establishment cronies of Bill, but without the charisma or political skill.
Hollowpoint on February 25, 2008 at 4:51 PM
Chuck, you need to take the poll on that.
michaelo on February 25, 2008 at 4:52 PM
Nah- Rudy was frontrunner for months, but his lack of focus on the earlier states where he scored 4th or 5th place cost him. Nationally, Mitt was polling around 12% when Rudy was the undisputed frontrunner- plus he came ahead of Rudy pretty much everywhere.
That said, Romney’s campaign screwed up too, losing after spending the most money by far.
Hollowpoint on February 25, 2008 at 4:55 PM
Where the f^*k does it say “do over if unhappy with the rules”?
And who’s supposed to pay? The States, or the DNC?
mojo on February 25, 2008 at 4:57 PM
I’m not too concerned about Obama getting the nomination. I think he’ll be easier to beat in November than it looks right now. Probably easier than beating Hillary because I don’t think he can withstand any close scrutiny.
I saw Ellis Henican on FNC yesterday say white people would vote for Obama to “feel good about themselves”. LOL. Typical view from the left.
waterhouse on February 25, 2008 at 5:01 PM
You mean that living in Indonesia, for a few years, ISN’T a valid “foreign policy credential”?
But, but, Obama said it was!
Now, I’m lost. But, ya know, I’ve been to Mexico twice. Vote for me, my “foreign policy credentials” are impeccable. Just ask Obama.

OhEssYouCowboys on February 25, 2008 at 5:18 PM
Hillary is not running for the nomination at this point. She is poisoning the well for Obama, figuring that in four years McCain will be too old to run for re-election and she will have not decomposed by 2012. If the Messiah wins, she is out of the White House forever.
pedestrian on February 25, 2008 at 5:19 PM
Scary stuff. He must be stopped.
You’re very naive if you don’t think that is going to happen. White Guilt, baby. BTW, I loathe Ellis Henican with every fiber of my body, but he’s right about this.

AIRBORNESHUFFLE on February 25, 2008 at 5:19 PM
In my neck of the woods all I heard from people who would have otherwise voted for (insert name of favorite candidate here) was “…yeah, but can he beat Hillary? I will vote for McCain cuz I think he can…”
In the end there wasn’t much of a choice… Frankly, I think it’s time for a national primary… I’m sick of my choices being limited and determined by a very, very, very small number of people…

Of course they are going to let Michigan and Florida re-vote, though they will have to do it through caucuses or conventions. That doesn’t help Hillary.
rockmom on February 25, 2008 at 5:23 PM
I predict Obama will be easier to beat:
1. McCain does very good with Hispanics. Hispanics hate Obama, and they are 6 to 4 dem voters.
2. Blacks have always been voting overwhelmingly for dems, so they are irrelevant.
3. Young people are a problem, but they have been leaning democrat in all elections.
4. McCain did very good with Seniors in the primaries, and Hillary did to – so he has an easy walk there.
The only problem is stupefyingly insane Republicans for Obama, and that phenomenon has been declining in the polls over the past month. I’m sure it will be completely shattered until Nov.

This Hillary speech isn’t the big news today.
The REAL big news came from Cincinnati where mayor Mark Mallory announced his endorsement of Barack Obama during his introduction at the rally. Details.
Oh, Mallory is a super-delegate.
Barack Obama’s Cincinnati rally today – 12,000+
Hillary’s Cincinnati rally over the weekend – 1500

Should we really be taking advice from the Guv who was severely injured in an accident because he wasn’t wearing a seat belt, then later stumbled to a microphone on crutches to tell us, the public, we should always buckle up?
Thanks but no thanks Johnny, my dog has more sense than you.
fogw on February 25, 2008 at 5:34 PM
LOL!
You are living in a fantasy land.
You better take a look at the Democratic turnout in the primaries / caucuses so far.
My prediction, Obama gets at least 70,000,000+ in the general election, may even approach 80 million (I think President Bush got like 63 million in 2004). The Obama GOTV effort has been nothing short of impressive. For a general election it will be unprecedented.
Not only will he win, but the downticket impact will be significant. Republicans will be staring at a minimum 55 – 45 Democrat majority in the Senate and lose at least 20 more House seats.
olympian2008 on February 25, 2008 at 5:35 PM
I don’t have the figures on me, but i saw somewhere that Democrats ALWAYS have much bigger turnout. Primary turnout is not a valid indication to general election turnout. Plus, Obamatusiasm is not as solid as it may seem. He didn’t rise above identity politics, he serfs on identity politics like a hippie on florida beach, which means it will turn into a shark and bite him in the hiney on his first fall.

flipflop33 on February 25, 2008 at 6:48 PM
True, in every case except 1996 (when the Dems had a sitting POTUS). Moonbats always show much more enthusiasm in their primaries (maybe conservatives are that bit more realist).
Good news about the opposition to Hussein Obama strengthening, but it all depends where that opposition is based. National figures are meaningless without some indication of how this plays out on a state by state level in the electoral college.
Pax americana on February 25, 2008 at 6:49 PM
Y
Don’t forget that many of the primaries were open. I don’t have figures, but judging by many folks I talked to, lots of Republicans voted in the Democratic primary. So, it is possible the Dem figures are somewhat elevated due to that.
In any event, when it comes to nut-cuttin’ time in November any that did cross will most certainly vote for McCain rather than Obama.
BacaDog on February 25, 2008 at 6:58 PM
Hmmm. Will Hillary endorse McCain when she drops out of the race?
desertdweller on February 25, 2008 at 7:07 PM
Well then the UN has been “warmongering” on Iran for several years now.
Mark V. on February 25, 2008 at 7:07 PM
Olympian — Dem turnout in Primaries always outnumbers that of Reps. Dem turnout in say 1980 dwarfed that of Reps, when Reagan wiped out Dems.
Obama is shaping up to be George McGovern. Louis Farrakhan endorsement. Dancing around in Somali Muslim getup with Islamic Court Union / Blackhawk Down elders. Hanging out with Weathermen Terrorists. Refusal to say Pledge of Allegiance (complete with pictures acting disrespectful), wear a lapel flag pin, act respectful during national anthem, etc. Wants Muslim Summit. Wants to run off and kiss Ahmadnutjob’s behind. Wants to kiss Raul Castro’s behind. Wants to confiscate all hand guns and semi-auto rifles.
That last alone GUARANTEES the mother of all GOTV from the NRA in Ohio, FL, PA, etc. Gun owners turn out far more than college kids. And gun owners outnumber young people 17-26 who make up only 14% of the population. GWB BARELY beat bad Dem candidates. But Obama is not a bad Dem candidate.
He’s Louis Farrakhan lite plus gun grabbing plus soft-on-Muslims plus soft-on-terrorism plus Hate-America/Flag = Dukakis/Carter/McGovern blowout. Say good bye to the blue dog dems.
