Part two of his interview with Shire Network News, starting at around 10:00 of the podcast in the right-hand sidebar. How’d the blogosphere beat the Star Chamber? Well, it hasn’t yet, but the more people watch those now infamous clips of his Orwellian tete-a-tete with the “human rights” Torquemada and kick in to his PayPal account, the more willing and able he is to countersue their asses up to the Canadian Supreme Court. If you can spare a few bucks — and he’s only asking for a very few — do your free-speech duty and hit the button. The money’s not just being used for himself, as you’ll shortly hear in what he has to say about defending Canadian bloggers from people like Warren Kinsella, but he’s the one shining a light on this travesty so it stands to reason he’ll be targeted again going forward. And sure enough.
Update: If the PayPal link isn’t working for you, try it in the sidebar here.

I’m having problems with the link, too. Brings back a PayPal form that’s empty except for 2 links - retry link returns the same empty form and the other link takes you to PayPal home page.

There’s a good link at the bottom of the “Sure Enough” page.
Happy to help, Ezra.

Yeow Rushbaby - I gave the mensch of Alberta $20 the other day.
Also, Ezra has to be extra careful these days. Go HERE for why. I hope we all can support this genuine hero.
Finally, very important: If you know any Albertans, there is a provincial election - you need to ask them to call their candidates to inquire as to whether they’d repeal Section 3(1)(b) of the Alberta Human Rights Act that’s being used to hammer Ezra Levant. There’s just about a week left - so call & e-mail today!

Alberta’s been under a conservative gov’t for many years now, much to the disgust and hatred of various lefty groups, unions (particularly the “public service” ones, gummint workers and nurses), and students. “Uncle” (or “King”) Ralph Klein retired not too long ago, and his successor is getting hammered in adds running lately that accuse him of “doing nothing” during his tenure (although I figure the less an elected official does, the better). Things look a little less rosy for the future of conservative governing in AB, even if it is the most conservative of the provinces.

I just sent him some money. I would hope all Hot Air bloggers would step up.

Best money invested in a long time. Keep up the awareness. The entire free world should come to this man’s support, for all our good.

Glad to support Ezra, especially now that he has a chance to end the career of Canada’s most notorious grievance profiteer!

I hear ya. That said, BTW, a non-white Liberal (Keith Martin, MP) has introduced similar legislation in the Federal/Confederation (yes, a Confederacy can work - it’s called Canada) Parliament to do the same thing. Also, according to Ezra’s sources, “The Alberta Liberal Party supports Mr. Levant’s freedom to express his opinions and to maintain, what the American Supreme Court termed, “the marketplace of ideas”.”
That said, having the Alberta PCs join w/ this can only be good. They’ve been in charge up there for 37 years, I believe.

Can I just encourage everyone to listen to the whole podcast? Shire Network News has become one of my favorites since I first heard it last Fall. They do really nice work, and there’s more to be enjoyed on a weekly basis than just the Ezra Levant stuff, as good as that is.

Well I sincerely hope that the blogosphere did play a role in getting people aware and interested in Ezra’s situation and the ridiculous “human rights” (shudder) commissions in Canada. Because I haven’t heard or seen any criticism of these types of course in any other type of media, including mainstream, shockingly enough. He had to take it upon himself to make others aware of his situation and he gets my tremendous kudos and thanks for doing so.

I haven’t been able to work for over a year but I donated. This is too important. I can’t give more than five bucks, however if the thousands who read Michelle’s blog and HotAir do the same we can help him fight and be a part of it.

So many times I read these stories and wish I could do something to help–it’s nice to be able to chip in and not feel quite so impotent.

I was in Vancouver, BC for most of Mr. Levant’s Inquisition.
The only newspaper in that San Fransisco of the North that carried the story was The National Post. The National Post has quickly become one of my favorite OLd Media reads.
Hats off to Mr. Levant! The transcript (carried by the Post) was one of the greteast defenses of free speech I’ve ever read anywhere. I’m glady donating a few Yankee Imperialist Running Dog dollars to Mr. Levant’s (and all of ours) cause.

But….it’s Canada? Can’t we give money to causes here that will stop our own government from slipping into the lack of freedom Hell hole up north…you know like ELECTING A CONSERVATIVE TO OFFICE :)
spacekicker on February 25, 2008 at 5:14 PM
Yes, I much prefer the Post over The Globular Snail. I know it’s the right paper when the literate lefties I know deride it whenever it’s mentioned.

I loved sitting in a coffee shop reading the Post and getting dagger eyes from all the illiterate Vancouverites reading the “Vancouver Sun” or that pathetic newspaper lite they call “The Province.”
A truism I discovered after three years up there is that Americans are woefully uninformed about Canada and Canadians are maliciously well informed about the US. Lotta good Canadians and a lot of Canadiots - about the same ratio as here.
Mencken on February 25, 2008 at 6:24 PM
Gave $20 Canadian which apparently is $20.59 US. Whats up is down…
