When asked in the Austin debate if he would meet with Raul Castro without preconditions, he said yes BUT he would first insist that an agreed agenda (or as he said a “pre-agenda”) be worked out that would include such things as human rights, terrorism, etc.

Sooooo…Sen. Obama, is not a “pre-agenda” in fact a “condition” or do I, as conservative thinker just don’t get it?

Or is it because he is unabashedly anti-American, calls for Israel’s destruction and has actively sought/is seeking nuclear weapons in defiance of the U.S and the allied free nations of the world? These governments are threats that need to be isolated and coerced into changing. Hugging it out is not going to change Mahmoud’s mind, or Kim Jong Il’s mind about matters. America doesn’t need to haggle diplomatically when it is confronting evil.

If Obama OR McCain went there and was totally rebuffed, they could come back, tell the left “We tried…really we tried talking but they won’t change,” and shore up domestic support for a much harder line with them.

In the Austin debate, not only did His Obamaness say he’d meet with Fredo Castro, but he said he’d–I forget exactly what it was–do something like ease restraints on the amount of money Cuban exiles can send back to family members in Cuba…as a “show of good faith.” And he used the phrase more than once.

So not only do we need to talk to tyrants, we need to atone as well.

When Obama says we are no better then Ahmadinijad, take him at his word. This is what he believes. He does not want to support republican government around the world, but will be a bitter enemy of it. He is a hard leftist. We have seen these people for a century. They believe that liberal democracy (economic liberty, or capitalism, and democracy) is a corrupt and immoral system that oppresses the world. Liberty is oppression. That is the leftist formula. His version of freeing the “oppressed” will be to free them from liberty.

The purpose of talks with the likes of Ahmadinijad will be precisely to establish their legitimacy. He will do everything in his power to insure that they get nukes, so that we cannot interfere with them. To Obama, Carter was an amateur. Don’t mistake his disastrous ideas for bumbling. Obama has plans.
