I agree. He does need a lot of Hillary/McCain democrats to win this thing, though, don’t you think? Or do you think he’ll win this thing on “energized youth”, “lockstep union members” and “dope smoking AARP” votes alone?

I loved it over the weekend when Fox News showed a glum-looking Nader and noted, “He IS smiling…” He’s the anti-Obama, charisma-wise.

But he ain’t gonna get elected running on “The Audacity of Mope.”

I was hearing the rumors, and now foxnew.com has it up. What else can they bring in… The Goracle? Now that would shake up B.O. and Hillary.

I watched Meet The Press on Sunday, to hear Nader announce. If you listen to his math on independents and their satisafaction with the candidates it actually hurts McCain more.

I seriously doubt that many “independents” who would otherwise vote for McCain are going to leapfrog over Obama to the left and vote for Nader. If anything, he’d draw some votes from Obama out of frustration that he’s not calling for impeachment and an immediate end to the war.

Unfortunately, they really blame President Bush.

Blame anybody else but themselves, cause they’re blameless.

What rights do Dems saying that it is not good for a 3rd party to run to could gain some ground? It was okay in ‘92 and ‘96 when it affected the GOP, but when it affects the Dems, they act like that it is bad for democracy.

I think it is great for democracy, and I would not be opposed to a conservative ruuning in a 3rd party. I think it is good for our nation to have a discussion of the issues, and if a 3rd party candidate wins the election,( which I do think will happen in the future) it will really shake up congress.

I live in California, Blue State, so voting McCain is not gonna change anything…but a vote for Nader might…

(Don’t laugh, I sold a ton of them. $3 apiece for 26¢ stickers ain’t too bad.)

Remember- there are some hardcore leftist Dems who think that Obama is too conservative, and something of a sellout for his talk of “reaching across the isle”. Some anti-war types also don’t think he’s anti-war enough because he won’t immediately pull all the troops out of Iraq.

This is going to be a close race (sorry, Patterico), and 1% of the vote pulled exclusively from the Dems could have an impact… as the Dems are well aware of after the 2000 “stolen” election.

One good thing about Nader running: McCain is no longer the oldest candidate.

Clarity of vision!

Nader waits till late in season to again enter the race for POTUS in order to keep himself relevant (not) and known to the younger (Pepsi) generation that he used to represent once upon a time. This time, his wish may also be the VP slot with Obama, supposedly giving the no-record Senator a record. But Nader isn’t the “change” Obama wants hanging on his coat-tails.
