“The State of the Black Union”

So, Barack Obama is “taking heat” for skipping something called “The State of the Black Union” event. I say more power to him for finding a way not to show up at a racial separatist confab. The organizer is talk show host Tavis Smiley, who can put a warm smile on his face as he introduces “the honorable Louis Farrakhan.”
Here’s video of Farrakhan at the State of the Black Union event in 2006, still railing about 40 acres and a mule:
Sistah Hillary Clinton will attend the event this year. She won’t feel no ways tahr-ed:

It must be Saturday night.

I could be wrong but I have seen little similarity between the Cosby/Williams combo and Louis Farrakhan. Appealing to the black community to pool efforts so black kids can get a decent education, compete in the job market, and have a constructive social fabric, is light years removed from the hate and victimhood that race hustlers like Farrakahn and Jesse Jackson push. Talk about yer soft bigotry of low expectations, it doesn’t come any more pure. Real life dictates these kids have to compete in the job market. Give them the tools and they will be fine. Keep reminding them that they are owed because they’re black, and the cycle repeats. All black or all white conferences are an abomination. Enough!!

Yep.
Jack and Coke anyone? They’re on the house.

you do realize this was the 2006 meeting. Cosby and Williams had not published their books yet. Yet dislike for one black person gives you the moral superiority to condemn any other black person for having genuine interest in fixing the problems of the community… how very noble of you…
Considering the GOP is predominantly white does this qualify as an abomination?

Just stating the obvious. I apologize if objective observation makes you uncomfortable. AntiSemitism tends to send mixed messages about the actual goal.
Heh. That’s going to make you dizzy.

fixed it for ya
Ah, flipping better than good J Kerry — I give that one a 7.4 for effort…

Bradky, your sarcasm does nothing to help the discussion. Why the caustic attitude?
Whatever. I’m off to catch some WPT.

Obama has more sense than to get mixed up with that group. It’d be like Bush attending a Bible class hosted by Michael Savage.

1. Careful son, calling language
starts you down a slippery slope towards censorship. Before you know it you’ll be having people in re-education camps, rather like the North Vietnamese did to the South Vietnamese after 1975. As a voter I will address any candidate for any of this nation’s elected offices by any name I see fit; it is called freedom of speech. If the Left can refer to President’s Regean, Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. as Hitler clones I can fire back at their candidates. Last I checked, Hitler was no friend of the United States. As Mr. Obama’s views are socialistic and I find socialism to be an enemy of freedom and this nation and all of Western civilization, well why not have a little fun with Mr. Barrack Hussien Obama. Also, if he does become President and remove our troops from Iraq then that will play into Osama’s hands. On the plus side though, his wife will be proud of America.
2. “This is divisive and revealing.” What, that blacks can be bigots? That blacks can hate? Bigotry has, and will always be, colorblind; anyone can be a bigot.
3. Do not read into my post that I am calling Barrack a bigot. I am not as there is no evidence I have seen of him being one. The original post dealt with him not attending the event. Good for the Socialist. He is still 100% socialist drivel.
3.
Guilt!?! Dude, speak for yourself! I have zero guilt! This country has dealt with racism out in the open since its founding and have more times than not sided with the “All men are created equal” side. Have we been perfect, no, but then humans aren’t. If you have guilt over slavery than free a slave…….wait, all done.

Barak Hussain Obama’s momma is white, his dad was not an American but Kenyan.
Since a mule is half horse and half ass, he took the later and not a very proud one at that.

A friend called and alerted me to the broadcast…I clicked on and was treated to the biggest ‘pity party’ since Al Gore lost the election.
Same old, same old…soaring rhetoric, blame whitey diatribes, America can’t do it without us, the white man stole our ancient knowledge…I could go on but you have heard it all before.

Based on the recent news post on Hot Air “Barak bin Laden” may is not too bad.
Or should it be “Barak bin Weatherman”?

Don’t forget, his main role model in community organization efforts was Saul Alinsky, who I believe also may have been influential in Hillary’s early molding process. They do have that in common.

I know all of this (my father is Kenyan Luo too; BTW you spelled ‘Hussein’ incorrectly). There are plenty of black Americans with Arabic given/adopted name. (Ahmad Rashad ring a bell?) You haven’t said anything that makes him not African American, as it were.
What do non-sentient animals have to do with the subject?

In my discussions with my parents and others of their generation, the main problem they had was not the ability to prosper. There problem was not receiving the same justice, access to capital and allowed to enjoy the fruits of their labor. When a black community was successful they were undermined by the white establishment. Examples are destruction of property, unfair zoning practices and construction of freeways through the community. The main purpose of the civil rights movement was to have a level playing field.
And yes, I have the same anger toward Black racists as well. There actions and rhetoric are just as, and in some cases more, destructive to the Black community. They deflect our failures away from ourselves and try to pin them on others. This stifles self improvement and encourages the victim mentality.

“There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Lisa, there’s a hole.”
Thus the world will burn as Screwey Lewey claims because “There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Lisa, there’s a hole.”
