Some of you need to lighten up and appreciate great political satire. Colbert is funny no matter who you are and how he is able to keep the dead pan while asking those questions is a tribute to his comedy. It was a laugh a minute, especially the ghay’s facial expressions (during women options)

But I think you’re missing the larger point: Colbert is parodying conservatism through an O’Reillyesque filter. I’m sure he doesn’t really believe that homosexuality is a choice. Rather, he’s making fun of anyone who does.

I enjoy some of the writing in the New Yorker. And many of their writers have an incredible ability to find a tie in between any subject and the stupidity and evilness of Bush. It’s amazing that a discussion about knitting or Ming dynasty burial sites would benefit from a reference to GB. But there it is; they’ll throw it in regardless.

Colbert usually just gets on my nerves but this truly earned its spew warning.

When a person makes their choice, which is not recognized by the mainstream, they are not entitled to special recognition because they consider themselves ‘special’.

Blue-state conservative. Not funny. A couple times I sort of thought it was clever. That’s as close as I came to a laugh.

But it might be because the whole time I was thinking about Colbert and his conniving attempts at humor and political reverse psychology, and the legions who are dumb enough to fall for this stuff.

Most of us didn’t find the Half Hour News Show funny at first, but it grew on me, I was laughing at Laura Ingraham playing a doctor discussing Clinton syndrome etc.

Bring on the laughter and the comedy to lighten up our lives, especially political.
