My point was that McCain cozied up to the Times and liberals.
A smack from the NYSlimes would happen anyway. McCain’s lesson is that you cannot think liberals will befriend you. No matter how nice you are. No matter how friendly you get with Feingold, Kennedy, Lieberman and how hands across the isle you are. No matter how loosely cohesive and tightly you are being a conservative Republican. You are a Conservative Republican and therefore the enemy in the pens of the NYSlimes’s.

Before McCain boarded his plane, reporters were asked to sit farther back than usual on the plane. And when McCain finally boarded the plane, he failed to offer his usual wave at reporters and opted to quickly take his seat. During the flight, the cabin was unusually quiet

This behavior strikes me as that of someone guilty of the charges. If innocent, it would be fun to laugh at the NYT’s public foolishness.

Yeah, I have thought about the fact that we have a choice of senators right now. Neither of them has had to live with the results of their policy implementation.

It is really a good thing to have some executive experience before you run for president. Your actions will probably have consequences that you have to deal with much more quickly.

Well, McCain has seen Campaign Finance Reform come down on him with threats and warnings, and now his base, the media, has turned on him. All we need now is for amnesty to come back to bite him and we’ll have a trifecta.

This is another example of a politician who lived in a bubble of arrogance for too long. This is sort of like the beginning of the unfolding of the denouement of a Shakespearian tragedy, the moral of which frequently is:

Which is why Senators don’t get elected Pres. Geeze, we don’t have much choice this year, do we. (Another argument for Romney !)

Tony Snow stood up to some of the clowns at press briefings but Bush should have ripped the Slimes a new one and not let up after they disclosed national security secrets. Of course that’s just one example.

I understand the media unfortunately still has some ability to make or break politicians but the White House also carries some power. I would love to see the media taken to the wood shed and just maybe McCain will realize they are NOT on his side and do just that.

Doesn’t matter. This will neutralize Obama’s goof on the military weapons last night, because it goes to the heart of McCain’s argument for CFR, makes him look like a hypocrite and makes better press.

Yep. And perhaps he saw who circled the wagons around him when he came under attack. It sure as hell wasn’t the media and otherwise-Obama-supporting Indies.

I read the story and it seems one point in his litany of defenses was incorrect. But I do find it interesting that Newsweek jumped in and dug around trying to find a reason to prove the NYT’s story.

Liberal bias? What bias?
