Gratifying yet gratuitous, like kicking the coffin of a hated enemy. The hoped-for scorched-earth attacks on His Holiness didn’t happen last night, which means our gal’s either (a) given up the ghost and too dispirited to fight, (b) already thinking ahead to the goodwill she’ll need for 2012 or 2016, or (c) possessed of a graciousness we never knew she had in her. Terry McAuliffe sent out a blast e-mail this morning bizarrely touting her “farewell” video, so whatever you think of (b) and (c), I’m guessing (a) is very much in the mix.
Incidentally, she also lied this morning on the Today show about never making predictions. But that’s okay: The Messiah’s lied about his predictions, too.
You can quit watching after the Silky clip; the rest of it’s just Obama boilerplate.

You wrote that giggling all the while, right?

As long as she doesn’t lose her makeup artist, hope will always spring eternal.

Don’t count Hillary out just yet!
She’s still got a few…tricks up her sleeve.

I’m thinkin’ the “Change you can Xerox” line was designed to be one of those, “Senator, You’re no Jack Kennedy” debate moments. Instead, it was the low point for Hillary.

Aw, hell, I’m still laughing about that one. Allah, it’s time to move the Dohrn/Ayers story to the front page. These effing leftist scumbags are big Barry O supporters, and I can think of no more damning confirmation of his leftism than that.
OK, the “single most liberal Senator” thing also helped…

BO neutered HRC at every turn last night. Ding Dong (you know the rest).
swami on February 22, 2008 at 9:50 AM
The brainless applause from his supporters greatly disturbs me. The man who give the old “Why did the chicken cross the road?” line, and his audience would go wild with a laughing fit.
amerpundit on February 22, 2008 at 9:52 AM
Yep, it looks like it’s going to be an epic battle between McPain vs B.O. come November.
As for Shillary, any hopes she had of pulling off a Comeback Kid went South last night.
Expect nothing but dirt to come flying out of her camp directed at B.O. in the next few days leading up to the primaries in Texas and Ohio. Expect nothing to come of any of it, except to see her fade more and more away.

Admit it, that last choice was just a “throwaway” to round things out, wasn’t it?
I wouldn’t be writing Clinton’s obituary just yet. Last night may have been the first phase of cooling the rhetoric so that there can be a Clinton/Obama ticket brokered now, long before it reaches the Dem convention. Think of it. Months to tout the “historic” ticket compared to the half-dead McCain who isn’t even able to get his base enthused. The “rats” are poised for a Reaganesque like victory if they can mend fences early.
In the meantime we’re stuck with a pathetic loser and his brain dead zombies who keep telling us to shut up and get behind the dinosaur instead of giving us substantive reasons why we should support the candidacy of a man who has declared us racists because we aren’t in favor of amnesty.

Darn. Looks like H. Diane Clinton is going to go quietly. I was really hoping for some clawing, kicking, biting, screaming, and party-rending as she circled the drain.

gawd. If it wasn’t scripted, Hillary had nothing to say. She missed some good jabs she could have had. She needs one of her off-strike writers to sit next to her. She’s such a phoney.
The clip comparison to Bill is great work guys. No matter who wins, I know its not going to be her and thats exciting.

I’m sure whatever his answer to that question, it would be riveting, inspiring, and it would give people throughout America hope. Heck, just hearing him ask the question gives me hope.
Swoon.

Ya can’t beat The Messiah, man.
His followers love it when he blows his schnotty schnoz, ffs.
I swear, its like Monty Python’s “Life of Brian” where people are chasing Bryan around, worshiping his dropped sandal, etc.
Is his Holy Hanky for sale on eBay yet?

Believe it or not, it’s not brainless applause. I have lifelong friends that are far lefties and they sware everything BO says makes perfect sense to them, specifically the destruction of the middle class, tax cuts for the rich, universal healthcare, etc. BO has sold them that he is the only person that can deliver all these things and they have bought it. The more he talks, the more excited they get, they believe every word he says.

I missed the part where their behavior is evidence of something other than ‘brainless’.
Midas on February 22, 2008 at 10:04 AM
So much inbreeding among the left wingers is polluting the campaign gene pool. Original thinking is nearly extinct..
But better not be too critical of these people. Watch what you say, or they’ll nationalize Google and restrict its use exclusively for themselves.

Do your friends ever stop and ask themselves how he will find the money to pay for all of this “change”?
He reminds me of a relative of mine who gave slips of paper to everyone for Christmas, saying he was taking the entire family to Europe. He never actually did it, but boy, that was the best Christmas ever!
capitalist piglet on February 22, 2008 at 10:13 AM
high hopes, Bill Bennett wrote an eloquent column doing just what you said you have asked for, and I’ve linked it and quoted it extensively. It has not a single “shut up and get in line” phrase, is concise and to the point in listing why McCain is a much, much better candidate from the conservative perspective (unless you don’t think Bill Bennett is conservative) etc. You choose to ignore all substantive posts that list McCain’s positives while yelling that nobody has ever listed anything.

Midas, his supporters aren’t over 50% of the voting population. And old veterans vote in much higher percentages than young potheads.
There is still hope that McCain can keep this shitbird out of the Oval Office, but it won’t be easy. Quitting isn’t really an option, unfortunately.

Now if she would just GO away this country will be better for it !

Barack Obama was exactly right, to attack someone over a few lines of a speech is silly. It shows the desperation, NOT of Hillary Clinton, but of her idiot senior staff members like Mark Penn, Howard Wolfson and Terry McAuliffe who are putting her up to this crap. This negative BS from her campaign is one reason so many who originally supported her have moved to Obama.
Hillary is going to lose in Texas with a similar margin that she did in Wisconsin because the Obama campaign planned months ago for a primary / caucus in this state that would matter. Their GOTV effort in Texas is running circles around Hillary bare bones rag tag group of volunteers. Hillary’s game plan calendar didn’t go beyond Super Tuesday and now they are making a desperate failed attempt to catch up.
Also, with the Teamsters, 1.4 million strong, now working for Obama after their endorsement on Wednesday he’ll have a good chance at Ohio too. They are sending hundreds and hundreds of union members to Ohio for the Obama GOTV effort.
Hillary rally in Seattle … 5000, Obama over 17,000+ there. Hillary rally in Texas the other day, maybe 5000 to 6000, Obama another 17,000+ in back to back rallies. This is happening all across the country. These kind of crowds showing up for a rally to see a candidate just trying to win their party’s nomnination have never before happened in the history of this country. Not even close.

Haven’t you heard, he plans to put people back into the middle class, since those evil republicans have been allowing them to escape by moving up

Do your friends ever stop and ask themselves how he will find the money to pay for all of this “change”?
Yes, tax increase on the rich is the standard answer. Followed by ending the war in Iraq.
swami on February 22, 2008 at 10:36 AM
Your lib friends sound just like my lib friends. They don’t seem to realize that they themselves are among the “rich” as defined by Dems in Congress who want to raise taxes on “the rich.” If they do realize that they’re among the “rich,” they have convinced themselves that they SHOULD be taxed more heavily and that it is a good and noble thing to give more of their earnings to the government, as long as the government is led by someone like Obama who will use it for “good.”
They also seem to think that military spending is most of the national budget and that we could end world poverty if we’d just stop throwing money down the drain in Iraq. When I point out that military spending is approximately just 4% of the national budget and that ballooning entitlements are approaching 60% and will in the near future (if nothing changes) constitute 100% of the national budget, they deny that this could possibly be true. It’s the war in Iraq that’s breaking the bank, they insist, and Obama will fix that. Then we’ll be able to afford universal health care and all the other things libs have promised to provide.
The scary part is, these are extremely well-educated and thoughtful people. But they have fallen for Obama and liberalism in general hook, line, and sinker.

Clinton/Obama?! I think ya got that backwards. Who won the last eleven primaries? Do you think Barack (not to mention his supporters) would take a back seat to her now?
Just as unimaginable is an Obama/Clinton ticket. Think about it: if you were POTUS Barack O’Jesus, would you want to compete with your VP’s husband for the nation’s attention?
If you were FLOTUS Michelle O’Jesus, would you want to compete with the VP for the press’s attention? How’s she gonna beautify the highways or end illiteracy when the cameras are all on Hellary?
Surely you’re
