Video: CNN on success in Fallujah

posted at 7:51 pm on February 21, 2008 by Allahpundit

Totten’s readers know it’s a complicated picture but the picture’s coming into focus. Nowhere else except possibly Ramadi are the security gains of the past year more evident; CNN, to its great credit, has been tracking them all along. This won’t last if Maliki can’t absorb at least some of the Sunnis there into the security forces, but the recent compromise will hopefully buy some more time. Cross them fingers.

This is my only Hope

The CNN reporter has the most clingiest Burqa-in-Vest with helmet ensemble that I’ve ever seen. Sorry, couldn’t help myself

Someone tell the Obama and the rest of the cut and run crowd.

I like the proud kid at the end showing us the flag of his country.

Hope ain’t just some town in Arkansas.

I generally don’t like Mrs. Starr, but kudos to her for going there and actually reporting on what has become the (second) forgotten war.

Fox did a better video story of this a week ago. Gold dealers are returning and 15-20 babies a DAY are born at the Fallujah city hospital. I wrote about it and posted the video on my blog. Gotta wonder what was happening 9 months ago to make this incredible baby boom and subsequent economic boom happen in Fallujah…it was, of course, the beginning stability from the surge.

Thank you, military!

(Are you proud yet, Mrs. Obama?)

I have a hard time saying anything favorable about CNN. The network has not been helpful at all in its coverage of the Iraq war. Maybe CNN has changed its anti-war stance since things have apparently turned around. But, CNN gets a big fat F in my book in its past coverage of this war. Sorry Allahpundit.

Unacceptable. CNN is supposed to have a reputation as a defeatist, anti-war left-wing propoganda outlet, and items like this only contribute to distorting that image.

On a serious note, ‘yay’.

I’d be more convinced if there wasn’t an entire batallion following the reporter around town.

CNN on success in Fallujah

I watched the clip and I still don’t believe it. Was that the real CNN? Naaaa.

Zorro on February 21, 2008 at 8:56 PM

CNN tried to put a damper on the Fallujah report. “There are gold sellers again… but no one has money to buy…” etc.

If its CNN, its a downer.

Compared to MSNBC, CNN is FOX news only with fewer good looking women.

Heh! Right. Although they did steal Kiran Chetry.

Who wastes their time with CNN? I programmed CNN out of my remote control years ago. I’m against them.

bluestater on February 21, 2008 at 10:11 PM

Ugh. Everything good has to have something bad attached to it. Libs. Why can’t they accept that progress takes time. It’s like they expect it to happen over night.

“Well, things are getting better, buuuuuuut …”

And those ‘buts’ will be fixed too.

Ahem… Word to CNN, “This war is lost!” – H. Reid

CliffHanger on February 21, 2008 at 11:05 PM

Oh, and one more thing…

Our troops are larger-than-life heros!

CliffHanger on February 21, 2008 at 11:08 PM

Cross them fingers.

I think I’ll stick with prayer.

Im not the only one who thought the helmet and vest on the reporter was funny looking am I? I mean the regular folks walking around in nothing but regular cloths, then her straped to the gills in bullet-proof armor. Just weird to me, like she didn’t REALLY wanna be telling this story so she wore the stuff to make everyone think twice. I don’t know, I just don’t entirely trust CNN.

I know huh? Here we have a 4 star general (or was it naval admiral?) walking around in a soft cap and she’s dressed to rumble.

thomashton on February 22, 2008 at 11:23 AM

Admiral Fallon had a kevlar vest on over his BDU, it was the same color as his BDU, but if you replay the vid at about 01:01 you see a good look where you can tell. Its as Admiral Fallon is taking a sip of Iraqi Coffee.
