One thing Obama should remember as far as anything that looks like conciliation from Hillary...

New Yorkers were told, and forgive the paraphrasing because I don't have the exact quote - "Hey . . . Elect me for a second term, my business is the business of seeing New York get what it needs, not skipping out of my term to spend all of my time running for President."

Let me tell you folks, it's a b**ch living in a heavily Democratic state sometimes...

IF he manages to win, and IF he's dumb enough to drink the Hillary-Ade and accept putting her in the Veep spot, he really needs to watch his backside sometime around the Ides of March.

I just love seeing these people running around the landscape in a Pollyanna-type frenzy,

Talking, in part, to me? If you are going to be disdainful, at least get the metaphor correct. I'd be more Chicken Little than Pollyanna. I don't count her out until the convention is over. She performed well last night. Unexpectedly so. She ignored the conventional wisdom "has to come out swinging" and tapped the emotion of the crowd for herself--- while Obama was in the room. Let's look today and tomorrow for poll results in Texas and Ohio.

I just love seeing these people running around the landscape in a Pollyanna-type frenzy, going “Don’t count her out! …pant-pant….She can still pull this off….pant-pant…She’s the new Comeback Kid….pant-pant….destiny is hers…pant-pant…”

Fact: She is losing support every single day now.
Fact: Her campaign is in financial straits.
Fact: She has few, if any major endorsements.
Fact: She got booed last night, not a good sign.

So, unless she has Bubba Billy tied up in some bunker somewhere to prevent him from going out and throwing yet another public grand mal hissy fit, maybe even take a swing at a reporter asking the wrong question or a Obama supporter, she is done.

Unless she has some major dirt against B.O that will guarantee he will either have to back out of the race or will damage him politically, she is done.

Unless she can rally the entire populations of Texas and Ohio to her side within the next couple of days, she is done.

Bottom line, unless she can pull off what amounts to a miracle in the next few days,. SHE IS DONE.

‘nuff said.

Don't count Hill out. She did exactly what she had to do last night. She was positive at the beginning and at the end, and negative in the middle. This is an old rhetoric technique. You leave a strong positive impression, and still plant a poisoned seed. The valedictory at the end led to a standing ovation. Yes, some confusion because she pushed her speech right to the closing bell (on purpose) and many people up front were standing to honor the whole debate, but many allowed themselves to get swept up in the emotion, and were standing for her. I watched last night with the CNN people meter because I do not pretend to have a feel for the democrat mind. She scored consistently higher than Obama. So I think it may be enough to hold Texas. She did a magnificent job of sounding pro military while promising to bring the troops home in 60 days. That was a difficult balancing act -- but she pulled it off. It may not be enough, but I think she did something here that was not expected. She got ahead of the conventional wisdom and was acting to further her campaign. She was not reacting to prevent further losses. Big difference.

I’ll vote Republican on the down ballot, to be sure, but the top spot I’ll leave blank. Of course, McCain can hope that other conservatives are less obstinate than I am. We’ll know in a little more than eight months.

He has more problems than just votes. Obama has piles of cash whereas McCain is already running a $7m deficit. People like myself, who usually give money to the RNC are sitting this one out. I doubt that they will have the "feet on the ground" that Rove is so famous for mobilizing. His "base" is already turning on him like a pack of hyenas and more stories like yesterday's will be trickling out at the most inopportune moments. His biggest hope to win is to have Hill and Bill secretly sabotaging Obama so she can run in 2012 (yes, she's delusional enough to think it's not completely over for her).

Oh ye of little faith! I'm not giving up on my girl yet. There may be an olive branch in one hand, but look out for that 527 shiv in the other hand. "Oh my, I had no control over that". Alternatively, she has months between now and the convention to kneecap Obama with some kind of a bombshell story, and since she'll be playing the good democratic soldier it'll be blamed on the VRWC.

Hilary and her husband are perhaps the most self centered politicians to have ever lived, which is saying something based on the current Dems in office.. How this woman can pull a victim card after having a life of a wealthy, treacherous, destructive politician is disgusting. All of her needs are met, and her idea of suffering is not getting more power. To compare herself to the millions of Americans that deal with real issues which bring them to the brink every day is a sample of how out of touch with reality these Liberal politicians that represent us are.

Her faith was in the fact that their money and power would naturally bring more of the same. She has thrown away countless chances to help Americans in order to promote self serving agendas such as homosexuality, and abortion on demand. She and her well deserved life partner will hopefully fade away, only to be revisited as a punchlines and water marks of stinging mediocrity.

A**holes who pretend to be conservative, and then foist this new socialism crap upon the nation out of spite for McCain will be just as responsible for the debacle as the moonbats. I’m sick to the back teeth of these hypocrites.

Pax americana on February 22, 2008 at 12:37 AM

Sorry Pax, but I think your disgust for Obamillary and nausua over the possibility of one of them being President has caused you to lose perspective on some basic salient facts.

The people who are refusing to vote for McCain are doing so out of personal conviction. The Republican party did not nominate someone they feel they can support. So, they are not supporting him. Thats not hypocrisy, it is choice... or have you forgotten what democracy means? They do not owe you or Mccain their vote. If there is not a candidate anywhere they can stomach they don't have to vote period. Thats true democracy in action, warts and all. Try to remember that through the waves of naseua.

Maybe we shouldn't nominate someone who has stuck his finger in the eyes of a large group of people we normally count on for support. You think? At minimum we shouldn't act surprised and angry if we do it, and that group walks away or acts unmotivated at the very least. That would be... dare I say it? (I dare! I dare!) somewhat hypocritical.

Besides do you really think insulting them is the way to get your view across? You are doing more harm than good. And if it weren't for the queasy stomach you have from listening to the debate, you would have known better. Go take some tums, get some rest and come back all chipper tomorrow morning!

And stop listening to Obama in general. He, like most empty calories, is tough on the digestion.

Well, I’m not voting for McCain, and I’m not going to be scared into voting for him by people saying, “Boo! President Obama!” Whatever you subsidize, you get more of, and I’m not subsidizing McCain’s behavior.

Is it really that hard to vote for a RINO over a Marxist?

A**holes who pretend to be conservative, and then foist this new socialism crap upon the nation out of spite for McCain will be just as responsible for the debacle as the moonbats. I’m sick to the back teeth of these hypocrites.

Still demanding that American's vote exactly as you vote, hmm?

Still demanding that American's have no choice in voting, hmm?

Still calling American's who don't toe your line names are you, hmm?

Yes, you are...you are still reinforcing my conviction to NOT for McCain.

I don't want to attack the McCain haters; I understand why someone might not want to vote for him. I'd love not to vote for him myself, but the future of the country is too important to throw away in order to spite him. I love my country more than I'd hate electing John McCain.

Vote for him, and then do whatever it takes afterward to make it clear that it was a vote against Obama. I'm going to send McCain a letter to that effect in case he wins. If everyone did that, if he got tens of thousands of protest letters, or if conservative groups staged some public protests, it might be noted. It might be possible to keep his feet to the fire long enough to keep him from screwing things up too much.

If Obama wins because Republicans like you refuse to give Maverick the vote, no one will ever note your protest. Instead, we’ll hear all about the overwhelming tide which swept the Messiah into office with a huge mandate for New Socialism.

I’m going to hold my nose and cast the vote, and anyone else who doesn’t want the Brave New World of B. Hussein Obama needs to do it, too. It’s the only sensible thing to do...

Indeed. McCain is the only man standing between the hollow suit and the most powerful elected office in the world.

And, again, refusing to vote for McCain is exactly the kind of obstinate pigheadedness that Maverick himself specializes in.

Whatever you subsidize, you get more of

If you refuse to vote for the Republican candidate, you will in effect be subsidizing Obama.

Then, if by some miracle Maverick wins, we hound him like the dog he is and hopefully minimize the damage until he's out of there, too. It's the only sensible thing to do.
