Our friends at Move America Forward have launched a new ad aimed at the anti-Marine mob in Berkeley. The Korean War veteran in the commercial, John Bringuel, has spoken up against Berkeley before–in 1965, in fact. Bringuel had written to the mayor of Berkeley to defend the troops against anti-war demonstrators. Forty-three years later, he’s speaking up again. Here are the ad and an excerpt from Bringuel’s 1965 letter:

Very cool to have a major political group on OUR side for once!!
“Ingrates like you” Classic!

Great spot. Even ingrates deserve to be protected and have the right to be free. However, when they start actively hindering a Marine recruiting office that has as much right to be there as the donut shop down the street, that is going to far. Pull their federal monies. They don’t deserve it. They certainly do deserve to be raked over the coals. This spot will help keep the pressure up!
It just adds to the respect I have for those serving our country. They don’t get enough credit and even get spit on by jerks in Berkeley and elsewhere. They serve anyway, because they believe this country is still great and worth fighting for!
God Bless the men and women in uniform! Thank You for your service!

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so damned proud of MoveForward.org standing up for the troops and their families!
I am signing that petition right now! It’s time to put the Berkeley City Council in its place!
GO MOVEFORWARD.ORG! YEAH!

Great video, I’m signing their petition!
I love the clip of the letter, the irony of the fact that these “progressives” are fighting for communism ! I think they should be drafted as well, today, but unfortunately they’d probably defect and join up with Al queda. They truly belong in a mental ward.

HUAH-AH
I wish there were something more ’substantial’ to do to those folks…..for now signing a petition will have to do. Why can’t the Marines be sent in……really sent in? :) They are experts at clearing cities ya know.
Just wishful early morning thinking, but seriously, actions like this Berkeley nonsense just makes my blood boil!

From the movie NetWork,the phrase,in a Military
analogy,
“We Soldiers, our Families, our Military in all
Branches are as mad as Hell, and were not
going to take it any more”!
(This line is not from the movie,I improvised!)
And finally,MoveForward.org has finally drawn a
line in the sand, BRAVO!

In the General Patton Famous speech,he says don’t let
cowards return to America, for if they do,it will breed
more cowards!
And if only General Patton knew how correct he was!

Every industry leader who has ever served in the military should pull their business from Berkley and from the counties in which Berkley sits.
If they don’t want the Military they shouldn’t want the industry.
I think every veteran should pull their children from the school and every alumni should refuse to send any money to the University.
I agree with the federal government withholding funds although the Democrat Party won’t let that happen.
rightwingpastor on February 21, 2008 at 9:08 AM
Senator Obama, what is your opinion of a city that tells marine recruiters that they are unwelcome intruders?
aunursa on February 21, 2008 at 9:15 AM
Great TV spot. Just one question:
But the caption on screen when he appears says “US Army, 1964-1966″. (?)

Here’s how to contact the ingrates by phone, fax, email or regular mail:

I know they love hearing from us, so the more the better!

I mentioned it it a previous thread, but here it is again. The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce and the Berkeley Convention and Visitors Bureau prominently display on their web sites that they do not support the City Council on the Marines issue. However, it sure wouldn’t hurt to let them hear from us, because they are in a pretty good position to make themselves heard in Berkeley.
tballard on February 21, 2008 at 10:00 AM
Great ad. I also signed the petition.

During the 60’s and early 70’s, service in some areas of Korea was still considered a combat tour.
Gorgar on February 21, 2008 at 10:38 AM
Me too.
God Bless our Marines.
Personally I would have no qualms about removing Berzerkeley from our official protection map, JMO.
infidel4life on February 21, 2008 at 10:39 AM
*ah* OK, that makes sense.
flipflop on February 21, 2008 at 10:44 AM
I signed! HOORAH!
kcd on February 21, 2008 at 10:54 AM
I would have no problem with the marines carrying out the same manuver on Berzerkly that the navy just carried out on the sattelite yesterday…..wait, not really…can we just send them to Gitmo? We could waterboard them with Lattes…would that be torture?
ihasurnominashun on February 21, 2008 at 11:28 AM
Wonder how long til those same liberals feeling high and mighty with the Berkeley city council will start whining about “right wing mean-ness” when they get called ingrates.
Defector01 on February 21, 2008 at 11:37 AM
I give it 5 stars and two thumbs up. Keep the heat on.
The irony: MoveAmericaForward.org is “speaking truth to power” in Berkeley. hahahhahaha
How’s that medicine taste?

My comments to stupid people is usually,
“Yes, my son is in Iraq protecting your right to be safe and ignorant. You’re welcome.”
Mommynator on February 21, 2008 at 12:20 PM
One look at that cadre of dumb ass councilmen tells me all I need to know. Dumber than a box of sinkers all the way.
Too bad we can’t give them a few hours of waterboarding.
saiga on February 21, 2008 at 1:24 PM
I watched and made a comment on the YouTube site. Then I read the other comments. Some of the comments are shameful and disgusting. The hate in the comment and the language is nothing more than pure hatred for this country. Yet we give them the right to be stupid.
Kini on February 21, 2008 at 1:24 PM
Damn right I signed the petition; I’ve had enough of these moonbats.
bradenmikael on February 21, 2008 at 8:36 PM

I Simply CANNOT stand to be anywhere near them and their thought process…….
