End times approaches: McCain calls for donations to offset the, um, media bias against him

A page torn from the Silky playbook, although this is even more comically absurd than even the dopiest of Edwards’s fundraising ploys, which is saying something. It’s like Billy Jeff asking for money because he has trouble getting dates. I’m tempted to donate just to salute the balls it took to make the argument with a straight face.
Well, here we go. We could expect attacks were coming; as soon as John McCain appeared to be locking up the Republican nomination, the liberal establishment and their allies at the New York Times have gone on the attack. Today’s front-page New York Times story is particularly disgusting – an un-sourced hit-and-run smear campaign designed to distract from the issues at stake in this election. With John McCain leading a number of general-election polls against Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, the New York Times knew the time to attack was now, and they did. We will not allow their scurrilous attack against a great American hero to stand…
Yet, it is there, right on the front page of the New York Times. It is now dominating the cable news coverage. We can only expect these sorts of baseless attacks to continue as we move into the general election cycle. We are going to need your help today, and your continued help in the future to have the resources to respond. We’ll never match the reach of a front-page New York Times article, but with your immediate help today, we’ll be able to respond and defend our nominee from the liberal attack machine.
Running tally thus far: McCain 1, Times 0, TNR 0.

Weren’t you the one that was calling everyone who disagrees with McCain racist on this blog a few days ago?
Yeah, now it’s coming back to me. It was you.
jaime on February 21, 2008 at 5:07 PM
Indeed I was. And the racist, single-issue obcession continues throughout this thread…
etc…
Hiney Von Pewps on February 21, 2008 at 5:11 PM
Also, the constant drone of nonsense like this…
and
…is nothing less than the beating of Poe’s Telltale Heart.
It’s defensive of no accusation ever put out there by McCain.
Can any one of you produce a single quote in which McCain calls opponents of McCain-Kennedy “racist”?
Hiney Von Pewps on February 21, 2008 at 5:16 PM
I don’t see any racist comments there. All I see are people who don’t appreciate McCain, Graham, etc. calling them nativists and bigots.
We don’t go down to the street corner where you hang out and knock the dick out of your mouth. Why do you want to come in here and bother us?
jaime on February 21, 2008 at 5:21 PM
I’m waiting for your mom to wash her pu**y.
Hiney Von Pewps on February 21, 2008 at 5:23 PM
Say, Jaime, have you come up with that quote ofMcCain calling you a racist yet?
Hiney Von Pewps on February 21, 2008 at 5:24 PM
Nothing yet?
Hiney Von Pewps on February 21, 2008 at 5:30 PM
Heh, someone has their Hiney Perpendicular in a bunch.
Kini on February 21, 2008 at 5:33 PM
Actually, that was twenty minutes ago when I asked for one single citation of McCain calling opponents of McCain-Kennedy “racist”. from here on out I expect to hear nothing but crickets, and that makes me peaceful.
Hiney Von Pewps on February 21, 2008 at 5:36 PM
C’mon, troll. Point out an instance where I said McCain called me a racist.
The HotAir staff has a lot of forbearance allowing a hate-filled liberal like you to freely comment, but it’s their site, so we live with it.
Anyway, until you can produce an instance where I said McCain called me a racist, don’t bother to respond. If you can’t produce one I’ll know you’re a liar, too.
jaime on February 21, 2008 at 5:39 PM
Those crickets keep chirping…
Hiney Von Pewps on February 21, 2008 at 5:51 PM
Well here’s someones take on it…read carefully

Two reasons why I can’t donate:
1. McCain/Feingold
2. Tapped out since The Savings and Loans Bailout.
DfDeportation on February 21, 2008 at 7:07 PM
I read every word.
Should I take that as a final answer?
I’ll give you untill the post rolls off the front page. then maybe I’ll revive it periodically.
Hiney Von Pewps on February 21, 2008 at 7:08 PM
Lindsey Graham said, “We’re gonna tell the bigots to shut up”. and Juan “Z-Visa” McCain was in hearty approveal. Hey Juan, “build us our goddam fence”!!!!
DfDeportation on February 21, 2008 at 7:19 PM
Two things:
1) It’s been a long time, you need to work harder and save some money.
2) John McCain did nothing wrong in the S&L crisis. It is all made up Dem BS, like the NYT article today. And “Real Conservatives” keep going down the path the NYT leads them on.

This is hilarious, and “what goes around comes around” was never more true.
McCain threw conservatives under the bus to please the NYT. Now the NYT has, at their first opportunity thrown McCain under the bus.
With McCain/Feingold, McCain took away a portion of our right to free political speech while protecting the NYT’s megaphone. Now the NYT has attacked him with that megaphone and he’s whining for money to fight back.
If it would help, I’ll be glad to donate thousands of the Bush Pesos in the Nada denomination.

Here’s more from MM on McCain’s rhetoric.

Guess the NY Times endorsement of the Maverick is now void?
profitsbeard on February 21, 2008 at 11:11 PM
I’m still envisioning the possibility that Mav’s VP might out-raise him. I wish he’d hurry up and announce — then we can all send checks to “XXXXX for veep, and that jerk at the top of the ticket.”
cthulhu on February 21, 2008 at 11:19 PM
Goodness, it’s been, what? six, seven hours?
When border enforcement psychos go around shouting at the air, “I’M NOT A RACIST!!!”, it’s basicly the same thing as a progressive’s “I’m not a traitor!” or a closet-case’s “I’m not gay!”
We’ll give this until the thread rolls off the page. Clearly McCain must have called opponents of McCain-Kennedy “racists” at some point. If he didn’t cast this original aspersion upon his opponents, it would be indicated then that all of this maniacal, irrational, obcessive hatred has no just cause.
Hiney Von Pewps on February 22, 2008 at 12:04 AM
Hey, Liar. Did you find an example where I said McCain called anyone a “racist”? If you’re going to demand that someone back up what they say, you should be able to show they said it.
Instead of calling people names, why don’t you try to show how the McCain immigration bill was a good idea, and how McCain calling opponents “nativists” was a good idea?
But no, we just get the hate-filled liberal name calling from you. Just like McCain. Are you John McCain? You sound just like him. And I’m sure, with the number of people you’ve persuaded to your point of view with that cool McCain style of yours, he’s happy you’re on this blog helping him out.
jaime on February 22, 2008 at 12:35 AM
VP choice will be critical. There is a good possibility Juan mcCain will not make it through 4 years. VP choice = very important.
No vote for McCain until Juan Hernandez is gone. Period.

Anyone remember all the damage that Carter and his idiotic inexperience did to this country?
My husband bought his first farm during those years and paid 16% interest on the loan!
