This NYT story is scarce on facts, but loaded with speculation and innuendo, business as usual for them.

Who knows what will come out later, but I’m thinking they pulled the trigger too early, giving McCain time to neutralize this.

Both Fred! and John failed in their first marriages.

My point is that McCain left his wife for Cindy and that Fred! had been divorced for a decade before he met Jeri. (and yes I know the McCains were ’separated’ when he met Cindy).

Fred! and his wife amicably divorced a DECADE (1985) before he met Jeri (1996).

McCain’s first wife Carol and he himself admit that his cheating ended their marraige.

John left his crippled wife for a daughter of a rich liquor baron…………….you stay classy, my friend.

I judge the man on his past actions, which have been dispicable.

Interesting that it would be a resume enhancer if he had a D after his name, but a scandal because he has an R.

As for the smear…right out of the lib media playbook. Drip it out, and it will last at least a week as others dig into it and likely repeat the same thing with slightly different wording.

Once it’s done, roll out a new story. Drip it for awhile, then go with a new one, or repeat the first.

Playing devils advocate. Why would McCain and Iseman both retain lawyers over this?

TNR correspondent Gabe Sherman is working on a piece about the Times’ foot-dragging on the McCain story, and the back-and-forth within the paper about whether to publish it.

The story reads to me like it had originally been much more ambitious, but had its guts ripped out somewhere along the way. The obvious question is whether those guts will ever trickle out now that this story has surfaced.

How would someone be able to tell that a story had its “guts ripped out”?

If this story is true, and I’m highly dubious, we have time to regroup.
