Iraqi blogger Ladybird, who Allah got the report from, knows the ins and out of Iraq’s politics and conspiracy theories.

Ladybird, who is half Turkemen and half-Kurdish was taught English by her friend, the late Margaret Hassen, the head of Care in Iraq, who was kidnapped and murdered.

Ladybird escaped Iraq after Saddam’s Mukbaharat lured her two cousins to death. Her family (she’s from Kirkuk) and relatives were heavily involved in Communist politics, so when the Baathists came to power, they purged the Communists violently, including her father who was jailed but survived.

Ladybird in her role with the International Red Cross
has been involved in several wars, been shot at, kidnapped, bitten by snakes. A very fascinating figure.

I bet at the last minute he does something like “in the interest of bringing my country together we will tollerate the infidels a little while longer to prevent the suffering the the Iraqi people; but we reserve the right to call off the ceasefire anytime.” He will look like a hero. They huff and puff and then stay in line. Politically what happened in Karbala was a mess for him. He is not so stupid as to squander his appearing as a reason for peace returning to Bagdad. The Iraqi’s wont tollerate violence erupting again.

His crew is so fractured now that, if he starts something, it’s more likely he be fighting other Shia militiamen and the Iraqi Army far more than U.S. forces. Likely we could just stand back, supply air support where needed, and let the Iraqis themselves clean his house out. And would that send a message to others wanting to stir up trouble.
