Video: “Yes, We Can,” Huckabee edition

A fan vid that reflects the man himself: Overly impressed with Chuck Norris, blissfully indifferent to his chances, and superficially genial with streaks of nastiness underneath. Rudy, Mitt, and Fred are nothing more than Huckabee “wannabes”? It wasn’t ol’ Fred who waited until the Iowa caucuses to discover the virtues of border enforcement, kiddo.

All that’s missing is some Christian iconography and a line or two about “The Man” trying to keep blue-collar workers down.

pass me the bark bag, pls.

Sickening and repulsive. I’m no McCain fan, but he cannot possibly put the Huckster away quick enough, so our long national nightmare can end.

bigred on February 19, 2008 at 11:43 AM

as in ‘barf.’

jimmer on February 19, 2008 at 11:43 AM

What in the world was that? I would have rather watched the vid with the news anchor vomiting than sit through that pastiche of bizarreness. Please, put up the vid with the bird crapping in the dude’s mouth, or the morose chocolate vid.

Painful.

nailinmyeye on February 19, 2008 at 11:43 AM

morose chocolate bunny vid.

nailinmyeye on February 19, 2008 at 11:44 AM

He’s got to be high, if he thinks he has any hope of being the nominee.

And how bad does a guy have to be as a candidate to make John McCain look better than this him?

Nineball on February 19, 2008 at 11:45 AM

had to stop it, too annoying. hope this isn’t official campaign material.

jp on February 19, 2008 at 11:45 AM

Dude. Can we say, “Delusional?”

Tim on February 19, 2008 at 11:45 AM

Oh, dear lord.

someguy on February 19, 2008 at 11:46 AM

The video reflects a lot of truths. It’s as vain, annoying and lame as the man himself and, much like his campaign, it leaves people wondering what the point of it is (and when it would end).

amkun on February 19, 2008 at 11:47 AM

superficially genial with streaks of nastiness underneath.

Bullseye! That’s him exactly. Exactly.

TheBigOldDog on February 19, 2008 at 11:48 AM

Same guy wrote this who wrote Hil4U$Me, right?

petefrt on February 19, 2008 at 11:48 AM

Who the heck is the person singing? It has to be a family member. Otherwise you wouldn’t have them singing, since they can’t. And if you aren’t watching the video, the line “Oops there goes another wannabe…Mike!” really is funny. Unintended on their part I’m sure, but thanks for a small laugh.

Sue on February 19, 2008 at 11:49 AM

Was that pro or con? I can’t tell !!

saiga on February 19, 2008 at 11:50 AM

What a sorry lot of candidates across the board. How the hell did this disaster happen ??

I hope we all learned something for next time.

saiga on February 19, 2008 at 11:52 AM

“No, He Can’t”

NeoconNews.com on February 19, 2008 at 11:55 AM

NAW! That was a joke…..right? Right?

MrFreeman07 on February 19, 2008 at 12:00 PM

Mike Huckabee said he majored in miracles.

What he didn’t tell you is he flunked out of school.

BKennedy on February 19, 2008 at 12:00 PM

I see he isn’t going for the “youth vote” it looks like a video me nana would make (and this is coming form someone who liked Gov Huckabee)

sko17 on February 19, 2008 at 12:01 PM

superficially genial with streaks of nastiness underneath

So true. Could not have said it better Allah. If I could pick a sentence that best describes his campaign all along that would be it.

Zetterson on February 19, 2008 at 12:02 PM

Disclaimer: I wouldn’t vote for Huckabee even if he pulled the Ark up to my front door and told me to hurry and get in.

That said…….his only political future is on the 700 Club board of directors. The party will remember him as the Perot of 08.

Limerick on February 19, 2008 at 12:04 PM

I truly cannot stand the site of him. I will not evah forget what he did to this year’s election.

JustTruth101 on February 19, 2008 at 12:05 PM

‘Cause he’s got…high!

EyeSurgeon on February 19, 2008 at 12:07 PM

Every fat lady in the world is singing right now, and the Schmuckster hears nary a one.

Someone needs to tell him its time to pack it in before he snaps completely and does an insane impersonation of Howard Dean doing his now infamous “Goin’ To California!” tirade.

Not that something like that wouldn’t be entertaining to see at that point, of course.

pilamaye on February 19, 2008 at 12:07 PM

Hopefully he loses in WI; the media are already starting to ask “Uh, dude? You know it’s over, right?”. Hopefully it’ll develop into openly mocking the self-aggrandizing doofus.

Hollowpoint on February 19, 2008 at 12:10 PM

He uses a 40 year old song, and his best most influential supporter, “a Ranger names Walker”, can’t even use his real name…I think in about two weeks we can say…”oops there goes another candidate, Mike…”

right2bright on February 19, 2008 at 12:10 PM

What? No indignant HHowling from the HHouseflies?

RushBaby on February 19, 2008 at 12:11 PM

how do you spell “blech”?

ctmom on February 19, 2008 at 12:12 PM

That video is a joke, right?

Right?

madne0 on February 19, 2008 at 12:14 PM

You just know he’s been fretting about Obama’s style, knowing he could do it better,…if only he had the right congregation, audience.

a capella on February 19, 2008 at 12:17 PM

By the way…what’s a “firmative stance”? Is that a “Summer Hat” reference?

RushBaby on February 19, 2008 at 12:17 PM

It’s hilarious that two weeks later, Romney still has more delegates than the Huckster.

Romney showed class and dignity in stepping aside for the good of the party and endorsing McCain.

The Huckster doesn’t know the meaning of class or dignity.

The underhanded stuff he pulled in this election (push polls, fliers claiming FRED THOMPSON was responsible for the deaths of 200,000 babies) is beyond the pale.

Too bad there are so many rubes out there that believe his b.s.

bigred on February 19, 2008 at 12:19 PM

Huck and his minions are pathetic, I am amazed at the continued media coverage he gets, including this site. The sooner Huck is shucked the better. I find it very interesting that this man of the cloth knows nothing of humility and the greater good, he truly is a looser!

dmann on February 19, 2008 at 12:19 PM

By the way…what’s a “firmative stance”? Is that a “Summer Hat” reference?

RushBaby on February 19, 2008 at 12:17 PM

Is a firmative stance anything like a wide stance?

Nineball on February 19, 2008 at 12:20 PM

What’s amazing to me is that Huckabee and his supporters do not seem to realize the amount of damage they’re doing to the standing of evangelicals in the GOP.

Slublog on February 19, 2008 at 12:22 PM

Slublog on February 19, 2008 at 12:22 PM

Exactly!!!!!

dmann on February 19, 2008 at 12:24 PM

I hope he and his delegates are frozen out of the convention and proven irrelevent.

peacenprosperity on February 19, 2008 at 12:25 PM

I read the comments prior to watching the vid, and couldn’t imagine what could be so repulsive.

Aye yay yay . . . that voice!?? Snort! Sounds like it belongs on one of those old . . .really old 45’s, by Peter Pan,. . . to entertain toddlers.

Next time, I’ll simply take ya-all’s word for it. Pray I don’t have this tinny tune stuck in my head the rest of today. Oy. Pass the HEAD ON . . .fast please!

But when the inevitable is finally clear to Mr. Huckabee, I’ll join in the chorus of

Oooops there goes another wannabe - MIKE!

doo doo da doo doo doodle de dumb

One word…BUSH!

bigred on February 19, 2008 at 11:43 AM

Sorry, I don’t have any hope of that ending until 2012.

dominigan on February 19, 2008 at 12:30 PM

Is this a parody? It’s so hard to tell with what’s-his-face and his people.

And how the heck does having high hopes qualify you for the Presidency, let alone having a doofus like Chuck Norris follow you around with his own high hopes?

Mike, go back to your cornball religious preaching, because God has already shown you that the power behind your campaign is not “other than human.” It’s menschlich, allzu menschlich.

Tzetzes on February 19, 2008 at 12:35 PM

Proof that McCain wasnt the WORST republican choice.

Satan Huckabee will never go away… he has found his base…dumb people… and he nothing else to do now but bilk low-IQers and run an eternal campaign.

Roger Waters on February 19, 2008 at 12:36 PM

Wow, I couldn’t make though the whole thing.

Second look at changing the voting age to 5!!!1!

Dusty on February 19, 2008 at 12:42 PM

What’s amazing to me is that Huckabee and his supporters do not seem to realize the amount of damage they’re doing to the standing of evangelicals in the GOP.

Slublog on February 19, 2008 at 12:22 PM

Because the other candidates managed to go more than two sentences without mentioning God or abortion, they actually think they’re being ignored. I’ve seen them express that (idiotic) sentiment more than once.

Many of the Huckster’s supporters seem to think that “conservative” means and ONLY means “socially conservative”, and that we owe them for electing Bush.

Hollowpoint on February 19, 2008 at 12:44 PM

I made it to “firmative stance”

I think that should be our new tagline for Mike. It captures the essence of his sounds-good, appearance of substance presentation which, underneath, is utterly meaningless.

TexasDan on February 19, 2008 at 12:49 PM

Huckabee is trash.

EJDolbow on February 19, 2008 at 12:53 PM

pass me the bark bag, pls.

jimmer on February 19, 2008 at 11:43 AM

Bring monsieur a bucket… and a hose…

Midas on February 19, 2008 at 12:53 PM

pass me the barf bag, pls.

Perhaps we need to start referring to him as Upchuckabee?

Mike Honcho on February 19, 2008 at 1:04 PM

I once saw two men making out on the street in San Francisco, until I clicked on this video that had been the gayest thing I had ever seen in my life.

JayHaw Phrenzie on February 19, 2008 at 1:12 PM

If he wanted the conservative vote, he would have kneecapped McCain a long time ago.

He has yet to say a single negative thing about the senator’s liberalism.

Valiant on February 19, 2008 at 1:48 PM

Who the heck is the person singing?

Sue on February 19, 2008 at 11:49 AM

It’s the Fat Lady.

Absolutely hilarious!!

bigred on February 19, 2008 at 2:47 PM

Is this a weight loss video? I can see dropping 20 pounds quickly…just watch before every meal…lose appetite and after every meal…puke up what you were able to get down.

Mike makes me sick.

ihasurnominashun on February 19, 2008 at 2:50 PM

That video captures the very essence of Mike’s campaign: vote for me, because I have Chuck by my side, and they don’t.

Friends shouldn’t let friends vote based on endorsements.

Conservative Voice on February 19, 2008 at 3:05 PM

LOL, that was darn funny. I think the word that stands out is HIGH!!
You’d have to be pretty darn high to think he had any hope.
Man, that was sad.

Conservatives R Us on February 19, 2008 at 3:06 PM

Ask Barack Obama, the official candidate of substance-devoid high hopes.

BKennedy on February 19, 2008 at 3:53 PM

Slublog on February 19, 2008 at 12:22 PM

Or the damage that they’re doing to the GOP in general. Obviously, someone needs to explain to Huck why the MSM and the lefty comedy shows are so keen to give him air time.

Infidoll on February 19, 2008 at 4:08 PM

1:27..that girl looks disgusted.
What gets me is that Huckabee handed McShamnesty the nomination. And he knows he did. Why are there people who are on the so-called “right” still making crappy fanboy vids about him?

malan89 on February 19, 2008 at 4:21 PM

Huckabee is a parody of himself.

Lehosh on February 19, 2008 at 4:28 PM

It’s SO over the top BAD you would think that it HAS to be some sort of oppo dirty trickster posing as a Huckafan, but what would be the point?

Just goes to show what a “tin ear” some in the soc-con camp really have when it comes to expanding their appeal.

Deety on February 19, 2008 at 4:54 PM

Always be on guard for passive aggressives. They are the true weasels of the world.

Entelechy on February 19, 2008 at 4:55 PM

Wow. Mike is not my guy (Thompson was), but I actually found this to be catchy. Although, I might be the only one.
