Video: Obama steps on Hillary’s concession speech

Tacky, albeit less gratuitous than when Mitt pulled this move on McCain. There it seemed mostly out of spite; here it was designed, assuredly, to deny Hillary a platform for a “major” address contrasting her own record with that of His Holiness. Watch closely and you’ll see he appears right around the time she starts talking about experience and the ability to lead on day one. I question the timing.

How important is that big win in Texas she’s counting on next month? Not as important as she’d like.

he also had 45 minutes worth of hotair “hope” to spew forth.

Anything to stop that health care speech. What is she trying to do? Guilt voters into saving her?

AbaddonsReign on February 19, 2008 at 10:34 PM

This guy can talk more and say less than anyone I’ve listened lately.

rplat on February 19, 2008 at 10:36 PM

Thank you Barry O for cutting that off.

Wow, Hillary sounds even more shrill than usual. She know’s she’s beat and she’s in a RAGE.

I’d watch out Barack. I’m sure Hillary has a few connections that will end your candidacy by, shall we say, default.

BKennedy on February 19, 2008 at 10:37 PM

There really are different levels of incompetence! These two lefties prove that!

stonemeister on February 19, 2008 at 10:38 PM

“Tacky” indeed, and uncivilized in a free country, no matter who does it (not that I could watch either).

Entelechy on February 19, 2008 at 10:40 PM

For Hillary, it’s over. I don’t see any way she can pull this off now. Obama is the nominee.

bnelson44 on February 19, 2008 at 10:40 PM

Wow - talk about total karma. Give 3 non-concessions in a row which is totally classless of the classless Hillary Clinton, and Obama had had enough. She scheduled her speech for 8:30, he then set his for 9:30, then she delayed his and filibustered. IF YOU ARE NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE ELECTION RESULTS YOU ARE JUST GIVING A STUMP SPEECH. The arrogant, classless Clinton got exactly what she deserved.

at Politico, it appears Hillary got just what she deserved

windansea on February 19, 2008 at 10:41 PM

Could Hillary be more valuable out of the race? She sandbagged Kerry. Maybe she’ll sandbag Obama, keeping hope alive for 2012.

indythinker on February 19, 2008 at 10:41 PM

How many fainted in that long winded hope fest?

d1carter on February 19, 2008 at 10:42 PM

contrasting her own record with that of His Holiness.

Uhm…that’s hard to do with just one vote for the Iraq war on her part seperating the two.

fogw on February 19, 2008 at 10:45 PM

Didn’t she say something about a cranky veteran sending her a donation? Wanna bet it was McCain?

mikeyboss on February 19, 2008 at 10:48 PM

Didn’t Obama specialize in “present” votes? The dudes a pantload, I tell you.
Mother Hillary will insure all of us. B Hussein Obama will leave out 15 million??? Why, the horror. He’s not even a good communist!
I was wondering why all of the plants in my home were blooming this evening. Now I know. The Messiah is only a few miles away in Houston tonight. I wonder if he’ll be hanging around later to heal the sick. My old dog had arthritis and I’ll throw him in the back of my truck and get him up there if BHO is laying hands tonight.

Sugar Land on February 19, 2008 at 10:48 PM

Huh, I think we might be hearing a Clinton concession speech on March 5.

terryannonline on February 19, 2008 at 10:48 PM

Okay…how many people think Independents crossed over since McCain has already wrapped it up (more or less) and helped drive the stake just a tiny bit further into Hillary’s heart tonight in Wisconsin by voting for the Messiah?

It could work since Obama is obviously starting to believe his own hype, but I don’t think Independents will vote for him in the general election. Although, honestly, I’ve never trusted Independents much.

Sweet Jesus, these two scare me. When did we decide there was a freaking “right” to health insurance? And a right to a frozen mortgage interest rate? And a right to free college? This just get’s whackier every day….

typical pompous liberal, its a requirement. They are simply trying to bully us with their ‘intellect’.

jp on February 19, 2008 at 10:57 PM

This may turn out well. If Obama is the Democrat nominee, hasn’t the party lost all credibility? This is the same party that lost to Bush in 2004. Utter imcompetence.

I say Hillary voters might give McCain a look, along with those independents.

Obama is so hopelessly unqualified to be POTUS, it’s incredible.

Another fine example why the primary format stinks. The Dems are bandwagon jumpers, I don’t think the Clinton’s can even steal the nomination at this point.

I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that McCain picks the right VP, then decides to hang it up after 1 term.

Either one will lose in the general, both Hillary and Obama are extremists from the left.

We must all remember that these white, uber-liberal, democrat primary voters are the same ones who walk around full of white guilt. He really IS their “magic negro” in their warped view. Normal white people don’t have this problem and will base their vote on the issues. Clearly, the general will be easier than the pundits may claim.

I had actually signed up a few months to volunteer in Obama’s campaign. They called me the other day and I said “no.” I was waiting for content and a sign that we had some moderate tendencies. I never got that. I was willing to vote for him and even campaign for him but I changed my mind.

In reality, Barack Hussein’s meaning of “change” isSelfishness:

1 - First Black president.

2 - First Muslim president.

3 - First Black ‘first lady.’

To think otherwise is to be extremely naive.

“Change” in Hussein’s mind is:

1 - to take and waste your money on building African and other “poor” Islamic nations,(more than Bush is spending, by the way) i.e. to help his “Muslim brothers,” while 45 millions Americans can’t afford to have health insurance, while many veterans are homeless, while poverty is a stain on the face of the “richest country in the world,” etc., etc.

2 - on surrendering to Al-Qaeda and to the Muslim world supporters of terrorism, or as the Muslims call it “Jihad against the Great Satan,”

3 - on considerably reducing the Military and withdrawing before finishing the missions,

4 - on opening the borders and granting all current and future “illegal” visitors from the South and the North full residency and citizenship,

5 - on appointing many Muslims in the White House, the Cabinet and the courts to pass laws to accommodate the Muslims and the Sharia,

6 - on, of course, courting, sleeping with, and opening the White House to terrorists and their supporters (oops, Jihadists) like CAIR, Hizbollah, Hamas, Iran’s president, the Black Panthers, Soros, the Hollywood Idiots, the Nation of Islam, the ACLU and MoveOn.

7 - on openly declare himself a Muslim after being situated in the White House,

8 - on establishing a Mosque inside the White House for those Muslim employees and himself,

You get the picture. You think it will not happen? Wait and see.

And for those idiots who are fooled by speeches, one word: You are screwing yourselves and America.

Enjoy, you morons!

Four years of “important” speeches. Wonderful.

benrand on February 20, 2008 at 5:02 AM

So, the Hope and Change train begins to pick up speed with the savior of America at its throttle.

In analyzing his speeches, the Hope and Change he keeps referring too means that he Hopes to confiscate more of our Change in order to support his socialist agenda.

Obama is ‘The emperor with no clothes’ having nothing to offer but platitudes as his followers divine things in his words that aren’t really there, and not realizing that what he wants to do will, in the long run, hurt them.

I think what this really shows is that Team Clinton is losing the MSM.

I watched as Fox cut away to Obama quickly and then I flipped over to CNN, where they did the same —

Both network’s “set up” comments were of the “We need to cut away to something IMPORTANT now” style.
I didn’t check out MSNBC … my remote control’s survival instinct won’t let me punch that one up.

That was a BIG shoe dropping …
If Team Clinton feels they are loosing the MSM’s attention … standby, they know how to get it back - SHOCK AND AWE!

Obama or his advisers should realize that with Hillary as VP you get Bill as well.

That would be a very crowded administration. Hill and Bill would “suck the oxygen” (to borrow an excellent phrase about the Clintons) out of each and every photo op.

Obama may be the man of the moment, but Bill and Hill own the heart and soul of the MSM.

You’re right, they DO say the same thing (i.e., nothing and/or liberal commie drivel).

So, actually it only matters if you can’t stand hearing one of their voices at all. In my case, her voice. Hearing her literally sends shivers up my spine and my whole body shudders in terror and abject dislike.

When I hear her, it sounds like vultures screeching.
Hence, freedom of screech.

Not only will Hillary not pick up the majority of delegates from Texas; she will lose the popular vote there badly. Many Republicans like myself will vote in the Texas Democratic Primary to defeat Hillary. I have been seething ever since she blamed her husband’s troubles on “the vast right-wing conspiracy.” Payback is sweet, even though Hillary would be the weaker Democratic candidate in November!

ptolemy on February 20, 2008 at 10:33 AM

Ptolemy,

This is PRECISELY what happened here in Virginia last week.
The number of republicans who crossed over and voted for Obama as a “shut Hillary OUT!” movement was huge. It was an easy decision for a dyed-in-the-wool Hillary-hater. McCain is gonna have the Republican nomination anyway, that’s now obvious to everyone.

(Maybe even to Hucka-bee-nejad, although who knows what’s really going on in that guy’s head.)

I’ll vote for McCain in November…UNHAPPILY FEELING LIKE I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DO SO, since I’d have far preferred Fred or Mitt over Maverick. I’d vote to end Hitlery’s career (since I’m not convinced Mack would have necessarily beaten her in November anyway) in a primary, but would never EVER vote for a lib in the general.

It’ll be interesting to see what y’all do down Texas way in 2 weeks.

Shirotayama on February 20, 2008 at 10:46 AM

terryannonline pegged this race for the Dem nomination last night:

08 D nomination fight = 92 general, where
Obama = Bubba;
Hillary = GHWB; and
Hope is more important than reality.

I remember the last two weeks of the 92 general. Standing at a Bush rally, with waffles being thrown in the air and the on-site MSM being heckled and booed, saying to myself “How on Earth are we losing to a man with all the ideas in the world and no way to pay for them?”

Team Clinton, I’m certain, is feeling my pain the same way today.
