Video: Gold Star Mother Debbie Lee tells off the Berkeley city council

Debbie Lee’s son is Marc Allen Lee. He was the first Navy SEAL killed in Iraq, dying in combat in Ramadi on August 6, 2006. Like nearly all of the Gold Star Parents, Debbie Lee is not a media figure and isn’t given much time to state why she is proud of her son’s sacrifice and why she still supports the war in which he died.
She should be.

God bless her and her son. I was moved to tears by her speech

I want to take that bleedin heart drum beatin hippie behind this great woman and shake the LSD out of her system. Her eye rolling and looking down and away from this poor woman is blatant disrespect in itself. It infuriates me being here in North Carolina. If I were anywher near Cali, I’d be there causiing some god damn trouble for these bastards. Forgive my language, god bless this woman and her family and god bless the USA.

Thank you, Debbie Lee!
I have a feeling if the Berkely council had darts they’s have thrown them at the picture of her son. They will pay sooner or later.

This woman’s strength of charactor and conviction moved me to the tears that she no longer sheds.
Her son is a true American hero
As is his Mother.
God Bless, dear woman.

:-) Ya know, I was watching her and thinking to myself that I must not draw conclusions about this woman based on how she looks, but darn it, that woman fits every single farking sterotype of what I’d expect to run into on a Berkley street corner….
So busy was I not judging her by her appearance, that I missed the eye-rolling and such. As I looked again, it seemed she reached towards this mother after she was finished speaking. I hope this Gold Star Mother was able to sanitize soon after…
God Bless her and her family.

Too bad this will bounce right off the thick hides of the Berkeley City Council, who hate America, but not enough that they won’t seek elected office.

Having seen the entrance-blocking on video,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scXXs4_2Ako&feature=related
Man to officer: “You’re being neutral and letting them violate the law. Is that your function?”
The pitiable, clearly ashamed officer: “No, it’s not our function.”
I rhetorically wonder what the police chief is doing about his officers’ inaction, since his online message to readers states, “As Police Chief, I expect our employees to enforce the law as well; and to do so within the guidelines set by our community. This includes completing solid investigations, issuing citations, and making arrests.”
The phone number for the chief is 510-981-5900.
The phone number for the city council is 510-981-6900.

What is with the police in that town? Am I wrong, or isn’t it true that generally a hefty percentage of law enforcement officials have been in the military? I mean, don’t they get called “pigs,” all the time by the a**-hats? What’s with these guys? Are they all P[C]-whipped?

Wow! I just wish that had the courage and the intestinal fortitude of Debbie Lee. It is easy to see where her sons got the courage and patriotism to do what they have done for our country. Mrs. Lee, you are not alone.
God Bless the Lee family.

Seeing those gutless burnouts who have turned Berkeley into a sanctuary city for lunatics and traitors sitting there like zombies after she spoke enrages me.
I would encourage Sen. DeMint to amend his bill to include a solid barrier around Berkeley so that the foul virus that thrives there can’t spread any more than it has.

Bryan and Allapundhit,
I’m ashamed of myself. I spend countless hours arguing with the people I love most. I even antagonize folks who care just as much or more about this country. I am sorry for being a prick. These folks need my and your help. I am done.
Whatever I can do, just say so.
THE CHOSEN ONE on February 19, 2008 at 10:50 PM
God bless Ms. Lee and her son’s for what they have given to this great country. I don’t have to wait for Obama to become president, I am and have been proud of the United States of America as long as I have lived. I refuse to allow the liberals and Berkley hippies to cast any shadow on our military men and woman. This country needs change, change that takes it back and puts it in the hands of people who love this land and all that it has stood for and still stands for! God Bless America, land of the free and home of the brave!

I also apologize to our troops. I believe in the cause. However, I do not have the grapefruits to join you yet. I turned 35 tonight at 6:23. I don’t know why I feel more because I’ve sucked down a bottle or Red Tail, but it is so. People have said if you believe in it so much, why not enlist? I’m real close. I’m sorry for being a Romenee phony.
THE CHOSEN ONE on February 19, 2008 at 10:59 PM
I love her. She is so strong and dignified. That is one of the main things about Code Pink that drives me a little crazy: they are so undignified. And there is something dehumanizing about their lack of dignity. I always feel that they are working out some terrible demons from their past so that I can’t take seriously anything they say about the real world. But this lady is from a different world. A world where people care about and respect each other and are not mired in projection.
Whoever has caused the Berkeley police to take a dive should be investigated by the local DA. If he won’t do it they should all be investigated by the state AG. If he won’t do his duty the whole lot of them should be dealt with by the US AG and/or the FBI.

There are many ways to serve this wonderful place we live w/o having to lace-up/ship-out/kill’m all. Guilt is always the worst motivator, be honest to yourself, never compromise your core values and always fight the good fight. Truth is the most powerful weapon in any conflict and as such will always prevail!

I can promise our troops this. I’ll NEVER talk about what should be done again like I was appointed Sec. of Defense. After seeing that brave american Mrs. Lee show her strength under fire amongst the cowardly deadheads, humble pie will be on my menu for life.

I’d like Mrs. B. Hussein Obama to tell this wonderful lady that explain why she’s never been proud of her country before a bunch of rubes bought into Barack’s empty “hope” speeches.
I wake up every day thanking God and being proud that I live in the greatest country in the world.
It’s because of the sacrifice of brave soldiers like Marc Allen Lee that make that possible.

God bless her and her family.
I have been thinking about this. What the federal government needs to do is to use eminent domain to take half a block of downtown Berkley for the purposes of a federal building that would house recruiting offices amoung other things. This building would be federal property and could be defended by federal officers, who would have the right to remove and jail trespassers. If they design the entrances correctly you wouldn’t be able to chain yourselves to it and prevent entry without trespassing on federal property.

A moving speech Mrs. Lee and I thank you.
The policemen/women in berzerkeley probably have orders from their employers (mayor, the city council, etc.), to allow code pink and the other Stalinist’s to break the laws that they are breaking or else loose their jobs. A person does not remain employed by going against the wishes of their employers.

Ditto.
As for the freaks on the council, they are the types who like groupthink, and are incredibly brave when within the group. Once their exposed, they start running for the tall grass.
As for Debbie Lee, one of the council thugs said she had whatever minutes to speak. She took the time alloted, then stopped. She should have ended when she was done, and then demanded from each member what their personal response was…particularly to her previous efforts at contacting them.
…so much for responding to their constituents concerns.
91Veteran on February 20, 2008 at 1:28 AM
Truth to power…leave them to their shame, if they have any, Mrs. Lee. God bless you and your sons, and all who, to quote The Great Emancipator, have laid the ultimate sacrifice at the alter of freedom.
Gold Star Moms are strong women who’ve sacrificed more than should, in a perfect world, be asked of any person, that of their own children.
Code Pink are pathetic wretches who callously exercise the rights paid for with the blood of someone else’s children.
Two groups who exemplify the two distinct types of people that live in this world: those who give and do so selflessly, and those who take, and do so without gratitude nor humillity.
I believe the latter are what you could call parasites.

Ten years in law enforcement tell me that the Chief probably ordered the inaction. Still, it was rather gutless not to go against an order forbidding him from upholding his oath as an officer.

ahkjr33 on February 20, 2008 at 3:44 PM
Does anyone know why the Governor of California has not issued an edict commanding Berkeley to rescind their order and leave the Marines alone?
Why hasn’t the Governor sent in the State Police to ensure the safety and freedom of the US Marine Recruiters, their clients, and their office, as well as the liberties of those who support them, but whose civil rights are violated by the city of Berkeley in favoring Code Pink, and allowing Code Pink to impede Marine supporters’ legally granted right of assembly, blocking their demonstration, while the Berkeley Police department stood around and did nothing to enforce the law?
If the Berkeley police refuse to enforce the law and protect the rights of ALL citizens under the law, not just leftists-fifth columnists, like Code Pink, then the California State Police can enforce the law, arrest any Berkeley Police who are violating the laws or infringing upon the civil rights of non-leftists, non-Code Pink individuals.
Furthermore, if Berkeley wishes to be bullies about it and resist State Police action, the State Guard can be called in to quell their foolishness. I doubt that the Berkeley Police have enough fight in them to take on the California State Police AND the California Stage Guard.
Justice For All, not merely for Berkeley California’s hippie LSD, Code Pink crowd.
That’s my opinion, and I’m stikin’ to it!
