Did you know that before being elected Gov of Massachusetts that Patrick Deval spent the previous five years in the desert eating grasshoppers?

I find myself hoping that Hilary gets Patrick Deval’s head on a plate.

Why anybody would copy our governor is beyond my comprehension…

Cracked me up.

Why hasn’t this fact hurt Obama so far? Because his two main opponents in the Democratic race, Hillary Clinton and John Edwards, haven’t advertised Obama’s liberalism.

Am I missing something here in the Peter Wehner? Didn’t we retire Silky out to pasture a while back? For an article with a byline of Feb 19th, that was downright confusing.

And for that matter, McCain is already prepared to attack Obama over this. His victory speech in Virginia last week contained this overlooked bit:

McCain: To encourage a country with only rhetoric rather than sound and proven ideas that trust in the strength and courage of free people is not a promise of hope. It is a platitude.

Actually, this was excerpted at length last week on the Dennis Prager show. I found it so apt that I scribbled it down. Nicely done, Johnny Mac. As I keep telling my wife’s nephew in Seattle who just got named a DNC delegate at 18 (core Obama demo), there’ll be more of this if O gets the nom. Just wait…

No, maybe Patrick’s speech writer is the messiah. Honestly, why can’t you tell the whole story. And if Patrick is the origional writer of the lines, then it should be made known (which it isn’t here or at the ABC News post).

Furthermore, just because a man borrows the words of another, that doesn’t mean he believes in them any less.

Governor Deval Patrick may soon learn what happens when the politics of hope and change collide with the fiscal realities of shrinking revenues, a looming economic recession, and a skeptical Legislature.
In the budget he unveiled earlier this week and began championing in his annual State of the State address last night, Patrick included a political wish list of expanded social and law enforcement programs, depending heavily on possible casino fees and new tax revenues from business that have uncertain prospects among lawmakers.

Critics from both sides of the political spectrum found fault with his $28.2 billion budget plan yesterday. They said Patrick dodged many of the difficult choices facing state government and produced an unrealistic spending plan, built on shaky revenue estimates and failing to prepare the state for a recession.

“Optimism and hope for the future is one thing,” said Representative Marty Walz, a Boston Democrat who supported Patrick’s election in 2006. “But we have to be clear-eyed when putting together the budget and making sure it’s balanced. I’d rather be more

conservative in an uncertain economic climate.”
