Obama’s votes in Harlem “understated”

Black voters are heavily represented in the 94th Election District in Harlem’s 70th Assembly District. Yet according to the unofficial results from the New York Democratic primary last week, not a single vote in the district was cast for Senator Barack Obama.
That anomaly was not unique. In fact, a review by The New York Times of the unofficial results reported on primary night found about 80 election districts among the city’s 6,106 where Mr. Obama supposedly did not receive even one vote, including cases where he ran a respectable race in a nearby district.
City election officials this week said that their formal review of the results, which will not be completed for weeks, had confirmed some major discrepancies between the vote totals reported publicly — and unofficially — on primary night and the actual tally on hundreds of voting machines across the city.
In the Harlem district, for instance, where the primary night returns suggested a 141 to 0 sweep by Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, the vote now stands at 261 to 136. In an even more heavily black district in Brooklyn — where the vote on primary night was recorded as 118 to 0 for Mrs. Clinton — she now barely leads, 118 to 116.
If this recounting trend continues, it’s possible that some delegates might move from the Clinton column to the Obama column. The question is, was this discrepancy evidence of corruption? The defense leaves much to be desired, basically resting on lower level corruption.
Mr. Koenig said he seriously doubted that anything underhanded was at work because local politicians care more about elections that matter specifically to them.
“They steal votes for elections like Assembly District leader, where people have a personal stake,” he said.
If they’ll do that for themselves, why wouldn’t they do it for politicians who could end up in a position to buy them off?
If low level dishonesty doesn’t work, try incompetence.
A number of political leaders also scoffed at the possibility that local politicians, even if they considered it vital that Mr. Obama or Mrs. Clinton prevail in the primary, were capable of even trying to hijack such a contest.
This is New York. Someone somewhere is capable of just about anything. And some of them have a history of doing just about anything.
But Gordon J. Davis, a former New York City parks commissioner and an Obama poll watcher in the district, remained skeptical, even after being informed of the corrected count.
“First it was reported at 141 to 0, now it’s 261 to 136 in an Assembly district that went 12,000 to 8,000 for Barack,” Mr. Davis said on Friday.
“I was watching like a hawk, but how did I know the machine had a mind of its own?” he added. “And I speak as one who grew up on the South Side of Chicago where we delivered the margin of victory for John F. Kennedy at 4 in the morning.”
That speaks for itself.

The hits just keep on coming. The Democratic primaries should now be turned in to a reality tv show.

Mr. Gordon obviously knows a few things about “delivering” elections. It’s good he had his hawk eye on, looking for any dead people showing up to vote. This is deliciously ironic theater. Thank you for getting yours Democrats. Please cannibalize yourselves further, so we can sneak John McCain across the finish line.

How much fraud is going on in the general election?
How many blue states would be red if it weren’t for a few heavily Democrat counties where there are few Republican poll watchers?
Why, after 8 years of GOP control of the Justice dept. and congress, has then been left uninvestigated?
I know, stupid questions.

Why not give everyone a paper receipt for their vote if they vote on an electronic machine? It just doesn’t make sense not to do that. We get receipts everywhere else…for gas…for food…for ATM transactions..but not for our vote?

The Clintons involved in corruption and voter suppression of blacks? Color me shocked! The first “black” president would never do such a thing. Clearly this is part of the vast-right0wing-conspiracy. /Clinton spin.

No matter who ends up with the most votes, I’m not gonna recognize the President as being legitimately elected. It will come down to who is the better cheater.
Stalin instructed these politicians, and they learned the lesson well:
“Those who cast the votes decide nothing.
Those who count the votes decide everything.”

Both political parties became totally corrupt in the 1920s
difference is, the Republicans cleaned up most of their act in the 1930s, and all of their urban machines were dead by WWII;
the Demos never changed. In their Party, it’s still circa 1926 ( when booze was illegal but full automatics weren’t )
Janos Hunyadi on February 17, 2008 at 12:49 AM
Obama is going to understand exactly what Republicans have known for years about the Clinton / Gore election machine, that they are old pros at massive voter fraud.
And automatic weapons were legal up and until 1934 but booze was illegal 1920 – 1933…. go figure.

That’s debatable. The nature of politics tells us that is not true.
TOPV on February 17, 2008 at 7:24 AM
You know, during the New Hampshire election, a Politico live result site was showing Hillary ahead at times by 220-0…126-0..etc. Now with this new news, it bears investigating. Its not just not wanting a DEM in office, its truly feeling that the Clintons are political criminals and it wouldnt surprise anyone if they manipulated votes. maybe the donuts Chelseeee brought to the campaign workers were reallllly good.

I swear, the people in Harlem are so blind to what the Clintons are really all about, Bill Clinton could most likely show up on the stage of the Apollo Theater in blackface ala Al Jolson and break into a rousing minstrial show style chorus of “Swanee River” and people in Harlem with hardly blink an eye. Heck, they’d probably give him a standing ovation.
pilamaye on February 17, 2008 at 9:01 AM
And if the voting had all taken place on easily rigged computerized machines without the paper ballot, there would be no reason to attempt a legitimate recount.
BTW, The rotten primary system headline from Princeton via Washington Post deserves a thread. Amongst all of the Ivy League institutions of higher learning, Princeton faculty ranked foremost conformist for financial contributions to promote liberal agenda 100% compared to mere high majorities from the other Ivy League bodies of faculty. So, along with the cries from non-descript little leftie people and leftie blogs, the highbrows bellow for justice. It is not as though Princeton faculty make no legitimate points. Their assessment attributes the onus upon the political primary procedural reforms from the 1970’s for granting the media with the free reign to whip the masses into submission to the candidate(s) chosen BY the media, FOR the media, without regard for the population.
We in America suffer our own form of Communism, as the media are the ruling class that dictates what we serfs and comrades must support if we know what’s good for us, aka want to remain employed, as the media rules the economy because PUBLIC PERCEPTION trumps all else in down to earth reality.
In THAT regard, Hot Air has yet to measure up to its calling, still mired in adolescent self serving vs. unifying cause. Also, Hot Air has yet to admit its own corruption of news regarding the legitimacy of Fred Thompson’s campaign. A thief who refuses to admit his crime is still no more than a thief, no matter the cover up. It remains a matter of trust, Michelle and Allahpundit. When you mimic the wrong doings of the MSM “because you can” you mimic Bill Clinton and Dan Rather in your tactics and reasoning.

So they not only tampered with the votes but they were too greedy to leave a few to make the numbers believable. Tell me again which party has a culture of corruption.

Sour grapes. Hot air and Malkin had nothing to do with the fact that Fred thompson ran a lazy, uninspiring campaign. The good ole boy attitude he took and the lack of fire in his belly is why he lost, nothing else.If you ask me he ran just to impress his trophy wife, and in this regard he probably suceeded.

So, early returns showed XXX-0 votes favoring the Hildebeast. Hmmm, note to poll workers: Stuff the vote in the middle of the day, so the “pad” doesn’t end up on the top of the pile.
iurockhead on February 17, 2008 at 10:25 AM
The only thing that suprises me about this story is the fact that the fraud was so overwhelming. There has been very little doubt that the Democrats steal elections. It was obvious in Chicago in 1960 although it had been going on long before that. It just started getting obvious then.
But you would think that the Clintonistas would be better at this, trying to convince us that Obama could not even garner one vote in a heavily black area when he has shown so much black support in other states.
conservnut on February 17, 2008 at 10:39 AM

Unless, of course, you include the NYT as a member of the MSM.
The NYT story is kinda funny because they use most of the story explaining over and over again that there is NO fraud…just human error.
I’m sure if I was a poll worker in Harlem and found that Obama got zero votes, I wouldn’t even bat an eye.
The Clinton’s can no longer be called smart, or dangerous for that matter. Their days of murder and mayhem are over.

Heh. You gotta love this. The sleaze just keeps on rising to the surface. Before it is over, the Dems will finally show their true colors by changing rules, counting or not counting votes, filing lawsuits and running smear campaigns. All against fellow Dems.
Now, if the GOP just has the good sense to stay the hell out of the way.
BacaDog on February 17, 2008 at 11:43 AM
Where’s the outrage? Where are the protests? Where is the invocation of the Voting Rights Act? Where is the threat of boycotts, lawsuits, marches and race riots?
This is exactly the kind of anti-black electoral trickery that took place in the South “back in the day” that the NAACP and other groups claim to exist to defy. Where are they now?
If the majority of Blacks in America can’t see that they have spent the last several decades serving as the “useful idiots” of the Democrat party, then I have little hope for them.

Here in Georgia, simply being asked to show a legal form of ID when voting is considered racist.

DfDeportation on February 17, 2008 at 2:01 PM
And didn’t Hillary Clinton AGREE NOT to campaign in Florida?
DfDeportation on February 17, 2008 at 2:03 PM
There is no way this can be explained away by the elderly unable to competently push a stick through a perferated hole on a ballot. In the second example, that means that Obama didn’t have a single vote recorded primary night and Clinton hasn’t had a single vote recorded since. Improbable is the tamest word I can think of to describe this anamoly. There isn’t any way that this kind of shift is simple procedural error by elections officials. Something stinks in New York City and it isn’t just the East River!
Outstanding point. Seems like there is at least the possibility that voting rights were compromised among the Harlem vote. My guess is that Obama is such a threat to the race industry that Sharpton/Jackson/Fahrakan are keeping their machine in idle. After all, how can Sharpton be screaming about a lack of opportunity for blacks once one is elected President?

If I were cynical, I’d say that the Clinton machine is capable of anything, and that they were just getting in a little practice before the general election. Hey! I guess I AM cynical! So this is what it feels like!
Actually, after losing the past two Presidential contests, I’d say that NOW is the time for all good men to make certain there are no such ‘irregularities’ in November. Verify, scrutinize, make darn sure that the election is as honest as possible. It’s better to lose honestly than win dishonestly.
(You might have to explain that last sentence to Democrats.)
Doug on February 17, 2008 at 3:41 PM
Being required to show a photo ID before voting is also “un-Christian and un-American,” according to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
Makes me wonder just how many votes candidate Huckabee received in Arkansas from all those Tyson chicken employees “doing the jobs Americans won’t do.”
Voting fraud: it’s not just for Democrats.
AZCoyote on February 17, 2008 at 4:15 PM
Folks, I worked too many years as an election worker not to know there are precincts where the election judge has convinced themselves that the ballot box belong to them to do with as they see fit. Most of these election judges are old-time democrats, a significant number or which are minority. it never gets brought up, because- if it is- the primary line of defense is to yell ‘Racist’.

EyeSurgeon on February 17, 2008 at 6:05 PM
The Democrats have been the party of voter fraud for many years now. The election of JFK was highly suspect, LBJ came from a corrupt political machine in Texas, the inner city of St. Louis has long been notorious for voter fraud that just happens to favor Democrats exclusively, Tim Johnson of South Dakota was only elected Senator because certain districts of South Dakota that just happened to be the last ones whose votes were counted just happened to vote for Johnson at near 100%, etc.
It’s totally unsurprising that voter fraud would go on in the primaries as well as the general election.
Certainly, the reaction among the Democrat party doesn’t even rise to phony shock. It appears they were expecting fraud.

Here is something I just noticed and it is a little exercise you can try yourself at home. Next time Shillary is on the tube, turn the audio down all the way and just watch her for a couple of minutes. Even with absolutely no sound, she still comes across as if she is acting for the crowd, pretending to be happy to see everyone, acting like she cares. In other words, she is as phony in silence as she is with the volume cranked up.
pilamaye on February 17, 2008 at 7:47 PM
This is great! As a general and accurate rule of thumb, that which is bad for the Democratic Party is good for America. So…
.
Bring on the Democratic intra-party fratricide; bring on the lawsuits over primary results; bring on the political dirty tricks, the dirtier the better; bring on a giant knife fight at the Democratic convention; especially bring on huge resulting animosities and organizational schisms in the Democratic Party. That’ll make it extremely difficult for the Democrats and their nominee to mount an effective campaign against John McCain.
.
As it’s obvious there’s no way Billary can’t win honestly at this point, the question is: Will Obama be able to prevent the Clinton Machine from stealing the nomination???
.
“President McCain” … “President McCain” … Let’s get used to those words together, everyone say “President McCain”! :-)
