A bit unbelievable but the start of a different idea.

I can just see them opening the door when the car comes off the ramp out the lake/ocean - and the cockpit is full of water!

More believable if it had an enclosed cockpit. If they want a convertable seal the top before they get into the water. Warm, dry, comfortable, I could see that being fun. Wet, cold, dirty from whatever was in that water with you (we don't even want to talk about the Thames or the East river) - well, yugh!

Design needs work.

2) Is the target market New Orleans? (wuh? Too soon?)

lorien1973 on February 15, 2008 at 8:22 PM

lorien, I just about peed myself on this one: I grew up in Chalmette. As a teen I was used to driving on roads submerged 2ft or more at least once annually, around May (the so-called "100-year storm" that seemed to come once a year, with eight inches of rain or more in 24 hours).

Now to make my amusement complete, I'm waiting for "chocolate city" Nagin to buy one.

If it had a closed top and trapped air it would need to have a couple tons of balast.

TheSitRep on February 15, 2008 at 8:25 PM

And be structurally a bit different to withstand the underwater pressure without cracking/breaking.

More importantly.. does this thing register as a car or a boat?

My New jersey Taxocrats DEMAND to know (so they can plan on how to immediately raise the tolls on it 800%)

Don't you guys get it? This is the answer that the Goracle has been looking for!!
Zero emissions-check!
Capable of driving you to work after your coastal city has submerged 30 feet from global warming-check!
Too expensive for "the people" to ever afford-check!
It's PERFECT!

Thats pretty cool, but if you really want to blow my mind
I like to see a station wagon loaded with kids checking
out the underwater sealife, enclosed of course!

Lets see,and then there would be a whole new deminsion
with old Vans converted,if the van is parked by the coral
and bubbling to the surface, best a not bother knocking!

And if this underwater venture was taking a new fad in say
a destination where a so-called famous potty mouth actress
described it as the centre of America,so to speak.
Well it would be an interesting night on Coast Guard partrol, separating the underwater targets!

somemany ideas,so little time,Haha
