Now obviously, that is directly under the part telling you NOT TO JUDGE..(sort of a contradictory, statement)

SO, It’s obvious.. that you MUST Judge to some extent, In your own fashion, as to what a “dog” or “pig” is.. So, for the same measure that you use against them or towards other people, that same measure is used against you.

It could be that peoples opinion on this could differ greatly, as to “what” a dog or pig “is”, or what type of person that would be.

If you are “really uptight” and feel that everyone or most people, are dogs or pigs, then you have set the bar very high for yourself and the odds of passing that test are slim..

All so they can judge anyone who makes a moral statement as “unChristian.”

News flash: Scripture says a lot about judging and judgement. Unfortunately, people tend to quote the parts they like and ignore the rest.

1) This verse in context, Mat 7:1

Judge not, that ye be not judged.

is directed at those hypocrites who judge people for doing wrong without living by the same standard. It says, that if you judge another, you will be judged by the same standard.
2) In the next few verses, Jesus specifically takes aim at the Pharisees for setting themselves up as judges of the common people on the minutia of Old Testament Law while forsaking the weightier principles of judgement, mercy, and faith. Compare Mat 7:2-5

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

with Mat 23:23-24

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

3) Scripture also says in John 7:24,

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

. How exactly does that fit into the idea that Christians are never to judge anything?

The point of all this is that Christians are supposed to judge when it’s appropriate, but they’re supposed to judge fairly, righteously, and without hypocrisy. I could go on, especially about the need for mercy in judgement, but it’s not possible to really cover the whole topic of judgement that easily.

In short, you can’t reduce the subject of judgement in Scripture to a soundbite.

I doubt if Chuck has ever read past the first page of the Bible. He is an idiot.

Last few years the championship series seemed to be played between San Antonio, Dallas or Phoenix with the East being an afterthought.

At least this year the West winner will face a real challenge with Boston and the guys who moved East in the off season.

You will when he wins MVP this year, but you’ll wonder why he did.

Chris Paul is the best young point guard in the NBA. His matchup with Nash and the 132-130 2OT win last week was probably the best game of the year.

If Paul never wins a championship, he’ll still belong in the HOF. Big Shot Bob Horry with all his rings shouldn’t get into the HOF unless he buys a ticket.

Scottie was sickened by Charles’ lack of discipline, his refusal to practice properly and Charles’ inattention to detail.

I agree with you on Malone. He and Stockton were the best tandem in NBA history. Malone was the quintessential power forward and the best in history when he played. Though there are a bunch of 6-9 to 6-11 guys playing now that can score and rebound who are pretty good too–Garnett, Duncan and now that he’s moved back to PF from C, Amare Stoudemire.

Yeah, Karl Malone and John Stockton don’t deserve to be in the Hall either because they didn’t get a ring. Karl Malone was a better player than Barkley. Malone and Stockton stayed at the same team their whole career and almost won a ring there. Barkley went to teams because he thought they’d win.

Charles Barkley was the best 6-4 & 3/4-inches PF to ever play in the NBA.

And this is the point. It’s great that he had success, but the only reason it’s ‘amazing’ is because he was too short for the position. I commend him for getting the rebounds as he was willing to work inside on the low block where lots of people don’t want to go.

It’s the same argument that Mugsey Bogues was a ‘great’ NBA player. He wasn’t (and he went to WFU like me). The only reason he was considered ‘great’ is because he was 5’3. Bogues had no place in the NBA other than entertainment purposes.

Barkley never won a Championship in the NBA because the Celtics had the Number One Barkley stopper in Kevin McHale, the Lakers had Magic, Houston had Olajuwon, and the Bulls had Jordan.

The only thing you got accurate there was Jordan. This is why Chuck always wanted to be seen and thought of as ‘like Mike’. McHale was old and retired before Chuck’s prime. Magic never matched up with Chuck. Chuck was ON OLAJUWON’s TEAM after Houston won the two championships. Why didn’t he win ON ‘The Dream’s’ team?

The other argument would be for Patrick Ewing who was another great player who didn’t win a championship. Here again though, he stayed with the same team to try to win without being traded to teams because he thought they had a better chance of winning a championship.

I said about 6 months ago that Musharraf was not going to be in charge of Pakistan in a year. Everybody was saying how much effort we should put in to help him stay in power. He’ll likely get impeached and removed from office in the next couple of months. But everyone said I was wrong then too.

It is why I don’t care to interact with people. I don’t like to have to defend my accurate positions to people who only want to tell me I’m wrong. It’s been going on all my life. He’s not saying Christians shouldn’t be allowed to marry. He’s criticizing their efforts to legislate their religious beliefs in a way that affects gay people.

The guy did clean glass during a Hall of Fame career and he’s managed to become the most successful on-air personality for the NBA and TNT. He’s not a geat political thinker but it was All Star weekend and CNN producers needed something to keep Wolf’s audience from falling asleep.

The more the GOP focuses on the gay marriage issue, the more their divisiveness plays into Obama’s script of hope and inclusiveness. The GOP should drop the issue and figure out how they are going to make middle income families better off before they lose those families to the Dems.

Now that you mention that, did anyone else get the impression that Blitzer was not happy that his backroom clowns forced him to interview Barkley and was probably focused on mindbending the clock to tick faster?
