Is anybody getting the idea that these individuals feel, I dunno, “threatened” in their seats should they support anyone other than Obama in their home districts?

It’s as if this odd method has become “Pronounce you’re changing your vote to protect your bottom, then go back and cling to your original point of view, safer in the knowledge that you’re “considering” changing your mind.

Doesn’t pass the smell test, something’s up.

I think that the “moderates”, or rather, the voting apolitical, do not understand the distinction between McCain the “image” and McCain the “reality”.

I truly feel sorry for Hillary. Am I the only one who does around here? Or is there something wrong with me?

However, one socialist, or even communist in office won’t cause the collapse of the country–not all at once at least. We still have some checks on executive power, unlike other nations.

Except it isn’t one socialist, it’s one socialist with a majority socialist in Congress and with the Supreme Court at the tipping point. With the majority they have in Congress now, let alone a wider one after the election, and one or two new liberal justices and they will be able to do anything they want.

I have never understood the concept of accepting a tactical defeat. We should be trying to get the best (or at least the least worst) that we can every time, all the time. It is never better to throw it all away on the hope that we’ll get something better later.

Because somehow 4 years of liberal fascism will send a good message to the GOP or something.

Yup. Because four years of a RINO might mean no country to defend at all with “conservatives” thinking they actually want what he pushes. At least a straight out cook liberal like Obama or even to a lesser degree Hillary (Loved Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Facism by the way), will make those who truly love America wake up smell what is happening under their noses a bit quicker. There really is no difference between all three of them…just the degree of poison (keep in mind slow doses of poison over a long period of time tend to kill you, because antidotes don’t work as good).

You’re right, it took about eighty years. And we’re already there. It’s just a matter cleaning up the opposition at this point.

If you look at budgetary and regulatory trends in federal, state, county, and municipal govts, we are exponentially investing in socialism.

Individualism be damned; socialism full steam ahead. We are, definitely, NOT headed toward a more economically free society.

It’s not a Thompson vs. Lieberman race. It’s not even Hillary vs. Romney. It’s looking like McCain vs Obama! Witness, in real time, the great political center shifting ever leftward like a tectonic plate.

We are losing the war of ideology. They are gaining momentum now that K-16 has been successfully turned into reeducation camps.

Seriously though, the Clintons are bad losers. It’s going to be very ugly very quickly if Obama keeps up the momentum and wins Ohio and/or Texas.

Wouldn’t Black super delegates switching to Obama, finally make him the “Black” candidate.

Democrat supporters in the city have an interesting demographic situation, rich liberals that can afford the high rent/property values and the poor that live in run down sections. Obama has been able to galvazize support but if it comes down to the wire how could it not be polarizing?

Should be interesting.

My prediction is that the minute it becomes clear Clinton is vulnerable and apt to lose there will be a torrent of defections in the name of unity (and also to stick it to the Clintons). How unlike the GOP where the presumed winner is still telling the vast majority to “f*ck off” if they don’t agree with his left-of-center ideology.

Let’s not get too dramatic here. We still have checks and balances in this country, albeit those seem to be invisible these days. However, one socialist, or even communist in office won’t cause the collapse of the country–not all at once at least. We still have some checks on executive power, unlike other nations. It would take a lot longer than four years to change us into socialists.

I’m not saying I support taking even one step down that road, because I’m not. I hope socialism is defeated wherever it pops up in the States.

On the other hand, I fear we’ve taken that first step toward socialism already.

Yep that’s the theory. A funny thing will probably happen on the way to the lesson being learned….the United States will be in ruins. Economically is a given. And probably also chaos from the devastation after being weakened militarily to the point of being a lap dog to Russia, China, Iran, the UN, and those other animals….terrorists. The other problem will be that Bush and Republicans will be blamed by the left and they will get away with it.

I’ve said it before, if Obama gets in the United States of America will no longer exist as we know it. This will be a socialist country being torn to pieces by illegals, islam, and economic collapse. The greatest country the world has ever known will just be a section in the history books. 230+ years flushed down the toilet.

Spot on. I personally like the fact that Obama has avoided the Superstars of Race-Baiting and Poverty-Pimping. It was a smart stategic move.

It’s comforting that Jackson, Sharpton, and the others wasted hours sitting by the phone waiting for Obama to call and make an appointment to kneel at their feet and kiss the sacred ring. Obama got to this point without their help or endorsement.

I like Obama personally. I don’t like Obama politically. I absolutely love the fact he put his thumb in the collective race-baiting eyes of the poverty-pimps. Good for him.
