Tip of the iceberg, as you’ll see. I linked this at Rusty’s yesterday in one of the Mughniyeh posts but it deserves a spotlight. Not for those with weak stomachs; not really for those with strong stomachs, either. But force yourself, as none of Cordesman’s charts, as impressive as they are, will drive home to you like this will what it means in practical terms that far fewer of these subhumans are walking around Iraq today than last year. They deserve every misery inflicted upon them. Here’s to many more.
Exit question: Are these videos doing them more good than harm in the Muslim world? I’m skeptical. Strongest possible content warning.

I watched the one at Rusty’s. Why don’t the prisoners struggle or scream at all? Were they drugged? I don’t think a human being can be on fire and be absolutely silent. If they were drugged, that’s a small mercy, at least. The murderers still need to be punished to the fullest extent possible on Earth, though.

I’m both better and worse for watching. Better for witnessing the carnal truth of their savagery; and worse for being heartbroken for the twelve year old boy whose right of passage into manhood was beheading another human being.
We have to win. No equivocation. And if I had any reluctance of supporting Senator McCain because of my disagreement with him on domestic issues, it is no less justified. But I will enthusiastically now cast my vote for him with the hope of saving the soul of that boy.

For some reason I’ve been thinking about this lately, namely, how it comes to be that debates such as GITMO are framed. Is it one side merely shouting louder than the other? Is it because more of the general population agree with the dissent? Or is it because more of the general population are too bothered to investigate any further beyond what’s on the nightly news?
Sad to say, I don’t know. But what I do know, like the saying goes, is the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to sit and do nothing.
That GITMO is still standing despite the talking heads and the Code Pinks of the world is cause for affirmation.

However, I suggest if you’ve never seen this stuff before, that you force yourself to watch the whole damn thing, especially if you’re one of those knee-jerk pacifists that spout off that US foreign policy is responsible for the attitudes and actions of Eastern culture. Watch this and tell me we need to accomodate their cultural values here in the West.

My son is 11. He’s still so tender-hearted that he actually feels bad for the people on America’s Funniest Videos who fall down and get mild injuries for their stupidity. I can’t even wrap my mind around a kid his age doing….that. I watched part of it, and I still can’t totally grasp it. Beyond horrifying. Those people are just animals. Uncivilized barbarians. Unfit to live. That child will never, ever be anything other than what they have brainwashed him to be. Nothing will ever undo that kind of damage. He is a mindless, emotionless killer now and can never be anything else. And like a rabid dog, he will simply have to be eliminated some day because there is no cure or redemption for what he is. The adult he (and others like him) will become cannot be persuaded or rehabilitated after that kind of upbringing and indoctrination. Pure, unadulterated, unspeakable evil. We cannot stop fighting these animals.

There’s another solution to the lib deleters on these video sites. If you get a video to load once, it will be stored in your browser cache. You can nose around in the cache and save it yourself, but there are some nifty programs that will do this for you.

I just finished the photo essay of the Berkeley/Marine protest at Zombietime. I couldn’t watch the beheading video but I did scroll through the screen caps. Putting two and two together, this is my idea. Print out the screen caps where the man is having his head pulled back as they saw through his neck. When ever one of these lunatic leftists shows a picture of a human pyramid from Abu-Ghraib or a prisoner being barked at by a leashed dog, have the beheading picture held up beside to show some context. See if they can still do the “moral equivalence math.”
I wonder if Rosie would agree that the Christian fundamentalists are the moral equivalent of the islamo-facists?

The ability to kill immobilized prey doesn’t seem to be much of a predatory skill. The cooperative hunting on exhibit in the video seems rudimentary, as well, since it requires little organization and planning merely to hold the prey still. On the other hand, allowing the youth to overcome their fear and practice their skills in such a controlled setting seems advantageous. Moreover, instilling terror in the prey is sometimes useful as a predatory tactic, and the wide dispersal on video of such a terrible display must instill such terror in many cases. But on the other hand again, the video is nonselective for its audience, and it seems likely to have the larger effect of giving the Western prey time and motive to become better predators. So in this case, as in the case of the attacks on September 11, it seems the enemies have shown they have some of the lesser predatory virtues, but lack foresight.

The simple fact is that the left and other haters of America simply don’t care what Muslim do. They will always look at anything they do as a response to what America has done, and they will always excuse it in comparison.
There is nothing Muslims could possibly do in the name of Islam that is worse than Beslan. Nothing. The deliberate targeting and murder of children, as a means and a goal from the outset, can never be surpassed for it’s barbarity. No matter how many bound and helpless men they behead on video, no matter how many Margaret Hassan’s they shoot in the head, no matter how many mosques they blow up at the height of Friday prayers, no matter many more Window-On-The-Worlds there are, there is nothing they can possibly do that is worse than Beslan.
Yet liberals and the America haters didn’t care. The day the seize at Beslan ended, and the news reports were describing the dead children, some of whom were shot in the back as they fled for their lives, there were still people who blamed it on American imperialism. It was Russia’s fault for being a brutal regime that suppressed Chechnya. And America’s fault for…well…some reason. The “root cause”. Always have to look for that “root cause”.
The “root cause” crowd always starts looking at America, and stops at Islam’s door.
You could show a beheading a day for the next 100 years, and it wouldn’t matter. Islam will win in the end. If the deliberate targeting and murder of children is not enough, nothing else ever will be. And Beslan was not enough. Islam will win.

Chechnya and the regions around it, since recorded history began, have always been among the most primitive of races. Their savagery has more to do with genetics than religion. I saw the video of the burnings the other day. My guess as to part of the reason they didn’t fight much is that they were probably almost already dead from starvation, dehydration, or both.
