New Jihad Watch: All puppies are cute!

posted at 8:28 am on February 12, 2008 by Allahpundit

Robert Spencer asks, does the phrase “cute puppies” mean that all puppies are cute? One far left professor seems to think so.

Great response, Robert. Unfortunately, in the case of Professor Cole and the Kuwait News Agency, I don’t think logic or reasoning will ever change their perspective. However, thanks for providing a little sunshine to disinfect this silliness before others are taken in by it. Now, if we could just get this in front of a larger audience…

Thank you, Mr. Spencer!

Would it be crazy to say that since the west is denying the reality of Islamic terror, that some wind is taken out of the sails of many Mulsim teachers who want Islam to be seen that way?

Therefore they may try even harder to terrorize so as to get credit?

I just found this on the good professors website:

“He also writes on current events, and his articles on contemporary Sunni radicalism include “Muslim Religious Extremism in Egypt” in Middle East Historiographies (University of Washington Press, 2006)”

I guess he actually does believe that Sunnis are radicals and all relgious Muslims are extremist….

What incredible Islamophobia! Abu Izzadeen probably has to take blood pressure meds since people like Robert won’t stop calling him Omar Brooks and Home Secretary John Reid won’t stoip tresspassing in Muslim areas. When will this insensitivity end ?!

Top 10 Islamophobes Alive or Dead:

10) Osama bin Laden – the leader of Al-qaeda and perpetrator of thr 9/11 attacks

9) Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa – supporter of Hezbollah, misogynist and leader of the most influential institution in the Islamic world today. Openly claims that apostasy from Islam is a civil crime punishable by death.

8) Ayatolla Ruhollah Musawi Khomeini – founder of the Islamic revolution in Iran, said “Islam is a religion of war”

7) Hassan Nasrallah – Modern leader of Hezbollah, the largest terrorist organization in the world today.

6) Mohammad Amin al-Husayni – Grand mufti of Jeruslaem in the 1920′s, Nazi sympathizer, founder of modern anti-zionism and spiritual leader of the early Muslim brotherhood.

5) Mahmet II – Conquerer of Constantinople, murdered the entire Byzantine royal family, including the young adolescent prince of a Greek patriarch, who was anally raped and beheaded by Mahmet in front of his family – in the name of Islam, of course.

4) Tamerlane – One of the most brutal emperors of all time, in 1398 killed over 100,000 hindu captives in a single day

3) Mahmud of Ghazni – Known as the “Killer of Lahks”(1 lakh=100,000) initiated the largest genocide in the ancient world in his conquest of what is now Pakistan and Afghanistan, unknown millions of people murdered throughout his reign from 997-1030, attributed to his intense zeal for Islam.

2) Omar Ibn Khattab – ethnically cleansed Arabia of Jews in the mid 7th century, conquered Jerusalem in 638 A.D after a 4 month siege, instituting brutal segregation laws that define the relationship between muslims and non-muslims to this day. He was also the Prophet Mohammad’s right hand man.

1) Mohammad ibn Abdullah – the founder of Islam, and by far it’s most blatant misunderstander, once said that it is the duty of all muslims to “instill terror in the hearts of unbelievers,” and to “slay the unbelievers wherever you find them.” He also married a child; bought, sold and owned slaves; murdered those who criticized him, left his religion or committed acts of sexual impropriety. Clearly islamophobic.

While not all Italians were fascists, and not all Germans were Nazi’s, all Muslims are Muslims.

I understand why Spencer has to pretend that not all Muslims believe in Islam, but it does no good to the audience he pretends to want to speak to. He’s never going to get through to Muslims because as soon as they believe what he says, they are no longer Muslims.

While all puppies are not cute, all puppies are puppies. No matter how cute they are, they all bite.

Actually, all puppies don’t bite. And as for Muslims, I am not pretending anything. There are millions upon millions of people who are culturally Muslim but are not interested in advancing the jihad agenda or even necessarily aware of it.

Do you not know that there are millions of people who call themselves Christians but who pay little or no attention to the effort of conforming their lives to Christian teachings? In every belief-system there is a spectrum of belief, knowledge, and fervor, and Islam is no different.

To extrapolate from Islamic teachings to the proposition that all Muslims believe in and are advancing the jihadist cause is just as absurd as assuming that because Jesus said to love your enemies, that every last Christian is humble, self-effacing, non-combative, and forgiving.

Robert Spencer on February 13, 2008 at 10:25 AM

Robert,

You are forgetting your own arguments.

As you try to explain, to no apparent avail, teachings from all of the Islamic schools are basically the same when it comes to jihad and Muslim aggression. How many times do you have ask for the “moderate” Muslims to speak out in support of freedom of conscience and the dignity of all faiths?

I am also very surprised to see you, of all people, pull the “Christian comparison”. I don’t care how many Christians do not follow the Christian way. They at least cannot use Christianity to support what they do, and other Christians can rightfully say they are not acting like “true Christians” and in no way could anyone use those people as examples of how to live up to Christian beliefs.

I can’t BELIEVE you even replied the way you did. It’s like you don’t even read your own words.

A lapsed Christian should in no way ever be compared to a Muslim who chooses to be a human being and ignore Islamic teachings.

I’m a frigging atheist and I can’t believe you would even think to compare them. You’ve been arguing with jerks too long.

Jaynie59 on February 13, 2008 at 11:10 PM

Very good video.

Livefreeordie on February 13, 2008 at 11:15 PM

Jaynie59 on February 13, 2008 at 11:10 PM

Jaynie,

You missed the point entirely. Robert was not attempting to provide an argument for ideological moral equivalency between Islam and Christianity, simply because there is none.

His statement is one of rudimentary logic. To state that all of the world’s Muslims are terrorists, whether or not Islam provides the groundwork for its justification in the texts, and to suggest that if they denounce or simply ignore the jihadist principle inherent in Islam, is ludicrous.

“Lapsed” Christians and “lapsed” Muslims are one in the same. Neither follow their ideology to its fullest. This says everything about the individual Christian or Muslim and nothing about Christianity or Islam.

Try the exercise again.

Green cups…does not imply that all cups are green…

You know the rest. And as a suggestion, switch to decaf.

awake on February 14, 2008 at 8:58 AM

Correction:

His statement is one of rudimentary logic. To state that all of the world’s Muslims are terrorists, whether or not Islam provides the groundwork for its justification in the texts, and to suggest that if they denounce or simply ignore the jihadist principle inherent in Islam, that they cease to be Muslims ,is ludicrous.
