Actually, I doubt the times is being PC. I think deep down that they’re truly frightened of the fanatics and use “tolerance” as a cop out so as not to get beheaded themselves. Cowards!

We need a Muslim Jim Jones to show up and have a big koolaid ho down.

surely EVERY religion operates from the fundamental principle of slaughtering those who mock or offend their delicate belief structure, right? Right?

Actually in the case of “Piss Christ” or Ofili’s “The Holy Virgin Mary” (A collage of Mary done in dung and cutout pics of genetalia and breasts) those who protested peacefully and called for public funding of said art exhibits to be cut were compared with – wait for it – Nazis. A NYT columnist, later to be arts editor compared protesters and those wishing to cut off the funding to Goebbels and Hitler condemning “degenerate art”.

Jyllands-Posten, the Danish paper the first published the cartoon drawn by Kurt Westergaard of a bomb on Mohammed’s turban, has this:Early Tuesday morning, Danish police arrested several people with a Muslim background suspected of conspiring to kill …

Westergaard’s cartoon depicted the Prophet Muhammad with a bomb in his turban, complete with a lit fuse. It was one of the most offensive of the drawings that ultimately resulted in violence and protests in a number of predominantly Muslim countries, much of it targeting Danish embassies and products. At least 50 people died in the rioting.

My guess is that those killed found being murdered quite offensive.

I object to the suggestion that the drawings “resulted in” violence and that the drawings were offensive – were they depictions of Christ in non-flattering or violent ways they would be “brave commentary on the violence committed in the name of Christianity” and speech that must by all means be protected as a cherished human right. The violence was the result not of some harmless cartoons, but of a massive and coordinated overreaction provoked by a radical imam and fueled by a level of intolerance that witless PC loons fail to observe in their efforts to appear enlightened.

Institutional intolerance enshrined in the very core beliefs of the religion and barbaric treatment of homosexuals, women and infidels = “we have to understand their culture, don’t be an islamophobe”

Church does not recognize homosexual marriages and believes women should not be priests = “intolerant sexist homophobic religion of oppression and evil”
