Video: “John He Is”

Via Ben Smith, it’s a rare parody that comments as sharply on its point of reference as on what’s being lampooned. This is a takeoff on the Obama “Yes, We Can” video, of course, featuring Maverick saying some tragically unhip things indeed about the United States facing more wars in the future and withdrawal from Iraq bringing about a sectarian holocaust. Watch it back to back with the original and compare the 200-proof pap emanating from the Messiah with McCain for once delivering some genuine straight talk. Reality’s such a buzzkill, man.
Exit question: Who’s going to tell his cretinous celebrity supporters that liberal Jesus’s Pakistan policy won’t be much different from President McCain’s?

Ah propaganda its not just for governments anymore

The left again shows its inablilty to face reality.
God help us.
davidk on February 11, 2008 at 11:46 AM
LOL. This was better than the McCain mama spoof that Glenn Beck did.
mram on February 11, 2008 at 11:48 AM
Wow, from the comments at Politico you would think it was the best ad ever made. I thought it sucked if it is supposed to actually influence peoples’ votes; it makes me want to support McCain, and I mean actively. Guess this was only made to fire up the libtard base.
RW Wacko on February 11, 2008 at 11:49 AM
What I would do if I could is challege Obama.
You say your for change ? What kind of change ? you say your for hope. hope for what ?
You cant even defend democratic programs. You cant even stand up for any issue. Leadership is action not words and you have shown no action only words. Are you afraid of your own ideas that you wont even mention them ?
William Amos on February 11, 2008 at 11:50 AM
I can’t watch either. It’s like watching someone torture a puppy followed by watching him torture a kitten.
Once BHO is elected
presidentImmortal Worship of the Pure Faithful, the nation will need deprograming. I hopecomplaintsheresies don’t get me into trouble withthe Obama Campaignthe Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice. This whole experience is demoralizing.

In my best progressive rant impersonation:
It’s only propaganda when BushCo and the Republicans do it. Michael Moore and these peeps are truth tellers.

More wars? That’s not magic-thinking at all!

Not a youngster asking why but some fricking arrested development douche wearing a fishing hat and baggy shorts. Not advisable into your 30’s. These people are indeed scary as hell. They are clueless and hapless. Dangerous combination.

From rasmussen a very suscinct look at what might happen
Who has a better chance against McCain ?
William Amos on February 11, 2008 at 12:03 PM
Who cares what this rap person thinks… when we can look to stars like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears for our guidance.

Obviously this video is really really bad, but at the same time it’s hilarious!
At the same YouTube site as the new McCain video I just found a ‘Yes We Can’ video with what appears to be Portugese subtitles here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMO5r6H8lHM
Hopefully it accurately translates to what Barack is saying.
Maybe we’ll get a morse code version soon.
olympian2008 on February 11, 2008 at 12:06 PM
Let Obama’s supporters do the work for you.
Shy Guy on February 11, 2008 at 12:08 PM
That tag line is funny: like hope but different.
What I’ve learned watching the debates, specifically Hillary and Obama saying the Bush doctrine in different words, is that dems aren’t against war, they are always just against the war we’re in.
Spirit of 1776 on February 11, 2008 at 12:15 PM
There will be other wars. There will be more deaths. There will be more suffering. There will be genocide if we leave.
Lesson to our reality-challenged friends on the Left: Reality bites.
amerpundit on February 11, 2008 at 12:20 PM
Alternate Slogan:
Obama 08
Like Reality,
But Different.
amerpundit on February 11, 2008 at 12:22 PM
Heh. They don’t need to know what his policies are. Just as long as he keeps promising to bring peace and prosperity to the world, that’s all they need to so they can continue making their music videos and movies.
terryannonline on February 11, 2008 at 12:22 PM
if mccain has any brains or guts he’d answer an obama nomination with a “yes, we can; but no, we shouldn’t” ad, and emphasize all the stupid stuff obama is advocating.
locke on February 11, 2008 at 12:25 PM
Barack reminds me of the old question:
Does a helium tank weigh more when it’s empty or when it’s full?
And what is Obama full of?
profitsbeard on February 11, 2008 at 12:31 PM
What we are witnessing unfolding is a fascistic ‘revolution of the overlords’. A couple of hundred years ago there was a revolution for liberty, and now the tide has turned – the ‘power elite’ wish to surf that tide toward supremacy.
Utilising the innocent, naive, ignorance of a progressively retarded mass, they can corral the tacit acceptance of the redundancy of the constitution, replacing it with an eager desire to believe in the bromides of the champions.
An Obama presidency would hardly be the ‘end game’ in this strategy. He is far too simpleminded, incapable of comprehending the vacuous white desire to vote for a black man to shed their guilt of imputed racism. If elected, he will be a humiliating failure, marring the prospects of any future, competent, black candidates.
He will serve one useful purpose only. To prove that the political mechanics being employed by these fascistic revolutionaries can indeed work. To prove that we are stupid enough to deliver them success. And cheer them while doing so.
Those of us with intellect and backbone should arguably call for secession at that point.
LimeyGeek on February 11, 2008 at 12:35 PM
That slogan just sums up so many of the lefty ideas. Kinda like what parents tell their kids…you could do it, but you shouldn’t.
acleaver on February 11, 2008 at 12:36 PM
Ugh. Adoring lefties strike again. I have to hand it to them, he’s the next JFK: no executive experience, as left as left, charismatic as heck.
Where are the right wing computer gurus with a “No, we can’t” ad? Surely the right can counter this.
PurpleWombats on February 11, 2008 at 12:44 PM
I think reducing this election to the level of a Nike commercial would be almost poetic.

Look at Massachusetts, Pimp my ride “Cadillac Deval Patrick” ran on the Hope & Change ticket and easily defeated the Republican Lt. Governor. Patrick offered nothing but fluff based liberal talking points including tuition breaks for illegals, he was the medias darling! Lt. Gov. Kerry Healy was portrayed as a cold hearted mean spirited bitch that represented the establishment. Sadly that was all the majority of Massholes wanted to hear! Now the state is in a terrible fiscal mess, at least a billion in the hole, a disband criminalien state police unit and the only salvation being offered by the prophet Patrick is casino gambling! Just F’in great

John McCain is SUCH a loser in november, it REALLY isnt going to be pretty. Not only is he a loser, but he is going to be the sole cause of a GIANT gain for democrats in the house and senate as well.

Great parody and highlights what he needs to focus as far as his message. He can polish his stump speech while the dems hopefully tear one another down.

Vote for John McCainVote for John McLaneIf he can survive Hans Gruber, he can take out the terrorists.
cat-scratch on February 11, 2008 at 3:16 PM
McLame will sink the Republican party. He’s a loose cannon and stoopid to boot. A hundred, a thousand, ten thousand years in Iraq! What kind of moron makes statements like that? I for one don’t want to waste another American life in that God-forsaken hell hole. We are fighting Islamic jihad, not building theocracies with the blood of brave American patriots.
Iraq isn’t worth the blood of ONE American. Are there good people there? Well, DUH!! But there are good people all over the world and we need to put America first. I wouldn’t mind blood for oil damnit, but we’re giving the former and not getting the latter.
If we’re going to fight a war well then by God let’s fight a damn war! This PC incremental war is not for truly strong self confident nations.
Piss on Iraq! Piss on Obama! Piss on the Hildabeast! And finally, piss on the pissant and hoplessly stoopid John McCain.
Charles Martel on February 11, 2008 at 3:35 PM
Stings don’t it? Now you can spend the next 8 months trying to explain why you gave us a candidate that says stuff like that, and then after the the next four years taking the blame for Obillary as POTUS.
You must be so proud.

When the Nationalists and the Communists were uneasy allies many years before the Chinese civil war (and the rise of Red China), the communists were in charge of the entertainment/propaganda wing of the movement, putting on plays to promote nationalism and the cause of uniting China. The nationalist wing became dissatisfied when it discovered that their communist entertainers were actually just using the platform for spreading the communist agenda. Their “entertainment” was only communist, bringing more converts to their way of thinking. The alliance was broken when the nationalists slaughtered the communists and emnity ensued, eventually resulting in Red China.
Socialists understand the power that entertainment has over the people.
