You can. There is a real Reagan conservative in the race, appointed by and a protege of the great man himself. The hypocritical right wing blogs and media have tried to blackout his name. Vote Dr Alan Keyes for President.

Sorry dude. Can NOT ever vote for Huck. This will be a hard choice as I head to the Virginia polls on my way home from work this evening, to get my vote in before the polls close at 7:00 pm.

I’m all for deep faith, but placing the Bible OVER the US Constitution just leaves me with a queasy feeling.

Christ said to render unto God’s what is God’s and unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. To me, it speaks volumes as to what a divine visionary Christ really was during his earthly life, and how in tune with that teaching the US Founding Fathers really were when drafting the Constitution such that the US Government would not be allowed to establish an official national church, yet also not be allowed to interfere with the free exercise of faith.

To me, Christ’s statement above speaks to governmental issues having their own independent sphere to deal with earthly issues, and faith having its own independent sphere with dominion over issues of the spirit. Neither interferes with the other and both coexist naturally. It’s not the same as saying “clear-cut definition of separation of church and state”. Rather than “separation” being the liberals’ oft yet erroneously quoted focus, it is peaceful, non-interfering coexistence.

Maybe I’m misinterpreting Huck’s statements from a month or so ago, but frankly, considering the Constitution as amendable in accordance with any one faith’s definition of “God’s Law” makes the Constitution subservient to it. Perhaps many Evangelicals think this is a desirable matter of course, that man’s law should always be underneath God’s law. But when I read Christ’s statement, the message I get from it is that neither needs to be subservient to the other. One is material, the other is spiritual.

Perhaps my interpretation is wrong. But until I’m proven otherwise, Huck’s positions scare me enough for me to still nickname him “Hucka-bee-nejad”. I fully support the strengthening of faith in the US but do not want the US to become a theocracy like Iran.

Which is why I’d have a REALLY hard time voting for him, let alone the clemency, immigration, and taxation positions he’s taken in his past, which I still disagree with.

I hate that as a conservative republican, I have to go to the box and pick somebody to vote for, and hold my nose while doing it.

but God’s hand truly is moving here, and with God all things are possible. When Huck wins, he will give all the glory to God, and God will be glorified. In this nation, that was founded by men with a “firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence“, God will be glorified. When it happens, I strongly suggest that you hit your knees and thank God.

Mitt voters will vote for Huckabee over any Democrat candidate in November. Count on it.

They may or may not support Huckabee before he wins the Republican nomination, but they will support him in the general election. Just like I would “hold my nose” and vote for McCain in the general election if he were the Republican nominee. Thank God (literally) that McCain won’t be the Republican nominee.

I am sick of the way Huckabee supporters imply that anyone who does not vote for Huckabee is not a “true” Christian.

Huck supports the Fair Tax, which is a huge plus, in my book.

Consider the hilarious irony of the HotAir commentariat – myself included – whining about the intolerable liberalism of McCain, while Obama runs ads on Rush’s show, because he thinks he can actually get conservatives to vote for his pacifism-smoke-infanticide-mirrors-open borders-socialism platform.

I wasn’t inserting “evangelicals” into his post, I was inserting it into mine. I ended his quotes before my words. In my mind it would have been dishonest if I had included “evangelical” inside the quotation.

Note that:

are two diffent things. I said the latter.

It’s fairly clear to me, though, that the reason he’s referring to Huckabee as “smarmy” is exactly because Huck is evangelical. I’m not willing to fight you on that, though, so go ahead and call me dishonest.

1) More Dems despise Hillary than Republicans despise McCain.

2) No one knows more about the corruption left in the wake of the Clintons than Huckabee.

3) Huckabee ran against the Clinton/Democratic attack machine 4 times and won each time. This would be victory #5.

And Alan has how many delegates right now? Even at a brokered convention, it will be hard to justify putting someone with 0 (zero) delegates on the ticket.

Now, however, as long as the states prevent double-voting, that D contingent of McCain’s base will be gone. They’ll all be voting in the D primaries because 1) the D race is neck-in-neck right now and there’s a lot of bad blood between Clinton and Obama, and 2) they all assume McCain has the Republican nomination locked up.

We just need to ensure that the elections are kept honest.

Never forget that the Dems who think Bush “stole” the election(s) will think that justifies them stealing an election. Don’t let them cheat.

The cool thing is that some will try to cheat, but because God’s hand is moving in this election, the cheaters will be exposed, just as Rather was exposed during Rathergate. God is good. :-)

You both need to go back home where you belong.

Stop trying to get a Democrat to be the Republican nominee, and go support your Democrat of choice, who will lose in November.
