Lord, I sure wish this was 1980 and I could pull a lever for Reagan all over again…

You can. There is a real Reagan conservative in the race, appointed by and a protege of the great man himself. The hypocritical right wing blogs and media have tried to blackout his name. Vote Dr Alan Keyes for President.

Red Pill,

Sorry dude. Can NOT ever vote for Huck. This will be a hard choice as I head to the Virginia polls on my way home from work this evening, to get my vote in before the polls close at 7:00 pm.

I'm all for deep faith, but placing the Bible OVER the US Constitution just leaves me with a queasy feeling.

Christ said to render unto God's what is God's and unto Caesar what is Caesar's. To me, it speaks volumes as to what a divine visionary Christ really was during his earthly life, and how in tune with that teaching the US Founding Fathers really were when drafting the Constitution such that the US Government would not be allowed to establish an official national church, yet also not be allowed to interfere with the free exercise of faith.

To me, Christ's statement above speaks to governmental issues having their own independent sphere to deal with earthly issues, and faith having its own independent sphere with dominion over issues of the spirit. Neither interferes with the other and both coexist naturally. It's not the same as saying "clear-cut definition of separation of church and state". Rather than "separation" being the liberals' oft yet erroneously quoted focus, it is peaceful, non-interfering coexistence.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting Huck's statements from a month or so ago, but frankly, considering the Constitution as amendable in accordance with any one faith's definition of "God's Law" makes the Constitution subservient to it. Perhaps many Evangelicals think this is a desirable matter of course, that man's law should always be underneath God's law. But when I read Christ's statement, the message I get from it is that neither needs to be subservient to the other. One is material, the other is spiritual.

Perhaps my interpretation is wrong. But until I'm proven otherwise, Huck's positions scare me enough for me to still nickname him "Hucka-bee-nejad". I fully support the strengthening of faith in the US but do not want the US to become a theocracy like Iran.

Which is why I'd have a REALLY hard time voting for him, let alone the clemency, immigration, and taxation positions he's taken in his past, which I still disagree with.

I hate that as a conservative republican, I have to go to the box and pick somebody to vote for, and hold my nose while doing it.

She really doesn’t enjoy being a Senator…refer to the often posted picture of her where she looked bored out of her mind and half asleep.

ITookTheRedPill on February 11, 2008 at 7:39 PM

Dibs on how long it'll take her to resign her senate seat once either Barack or whomever the Republican nominee turns out to be when one of them defeats her?

Betcha anything that she resigns that senate seat within a month of losing and having to bow out.

Thoughts?

but God’s hand truly is moving here, and with God all things are possible. When Huck wins, he will give all the glory to God, and God will be glorified. In this nation, that was founded by men with a “firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence“, God will be glorified. When it happens, I strongly suggest that you hit your knees and thank God.

You do realize, I hope, that you are using the very same ranting tone as the muslims, as they try to convert the world to their particular fantasy?

Not to mention the clownish Huckabee gaining Mitt voters, as if…

Jaibones on February 12, 2008 at 2:24 AM

Mitt voters will vote for Huckabee over any Democrat candidate in November. Count on it.

They may or may not support Huckabee before he wins the Republican nomination, but they will support him in the general election. Just like I would "hold my nose" and vote for McCain in the general election if he were the Republican nominee. Thank God (literally) that McCain won't be the Republican nominee.

I am sick of the way Huckabee supporters imply that anyone who does not vote for Huckabee is not a “true” Christian.

dawgyear on February 11, 2008 at 9:13 PM

Voting for Huckabee has nothing to do with being a "true" Christian.

1) Definition of a Christian

2) Definition of a "true" Christian: #1 above comes first, and then this.

I want McCain the Liberal out of this completely.

Huck supports the Fair Tax, which is a huge plus, in my book.

Everyone but this RedPill clown:

Consider the hilarious irony of the HotAir commentariat - myself included - whining about the intolerable liberalism of McCain, while Obama runs ads on Rush's show, because he thinks he can actually get conservatives to vote for his pacifism-smoke-infanticide-mirrors-open borders-socialism platform.

Let's talk about faith just a little more...

Which candidate has the following on their web site:

I'm asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington...I'm asking you to believe in yours.

Is that Mike Huckabee?

Nope. Barak Obama

No. The Huckster is expected win Maryland and Virginia because all the moderates have gone over to the Obama/Hillary race. There's no way in hell he's going to win the nomination, and if McCain has any sense he won't give him the VP slot either.

The Dems would destroy the GOP by airing these sort of devastating revelations all year.

To insert “evangelicals” in someone’s post (referencing pandering) when they clearly stated “smarmy politicians”, well that’s just dishonest.

LodeStar on February 12, 2008 at 12:45 AM

I wasn't inserting "evangelicals" into his post, I was inserting it into mine. I ended his quotes before my words. In my mind it would have been dishonest if I had included "evangelical" inside the quotation.

Hillary would be even easier to defeat because:

1) More Dems despise Hillary than Republicans despise McCain.

2) No one knows more about the corruption left in the wake of the Clintons than Huckabee.

3) Huckabee ran against the Clinton/Democratic attack machine 4 times and won each time. This would be victory #5.

Get excited, conservatives. This is fun!

Huckabee/Thompson defeats Obama/Edwards this November. I said it 4 days ago when none of you believed me.
I realize that it is just an advertisement, but there is currently an ad running on the front page of dailykos that is a picture of McCain (!) with the biggest Chesire cat grin you have ever seen.

You think the Dems aren't absolutely ecstatic about McCain being the "presumtive" nominee? Good thing they are still "presuming" and don't believe Huck will make a comeback and win it (but they do fear even the possibility of that, as evidenced by "myamphibian").

ITookTheRedPill----

Your enthusiasm for your candidate is nice. Some of us simply do not support Mike Huckabee because of his past actions as Gov. in AR and his campaign pandering.

And no, a gazillion more of your posts will not change my mind. Maybe you'll have better luck convincing some of the others who do not support Huckabee.

Oh, and one more thing.........

I don’t mean to offend you RP (not that i’ll lose any sleep as it’s highly unlikely to be avoidable) but I have had it up to hear with smarmy politicians that say what we want to hear. The end. ---myamphibian on February 11, 2008 at 11:06 PM

Alan Keyes is the real conservative. Let’s get him on the GOP ticket.

Pax americana on February 12, 2008 at 12:03 AM

And Alan has how many delegates right now? Even at a brokered convention, it will be hard to justify putting someone with 0 (zero) delegates on the ticket.

Question: How well do states ensure that people don't vote in both primaries (D and R)? I hope they prevent that, especially in states where the D and R primaries are on different days. McCain is the current delegate leader because of the D's that have voted for him in the R primaries. It's easy to see why...if they can get a RINO to win the R primary, they get a D president no matter what happens in November.

Now, however, as long as the states prevent double-voting, that D contingent of McCain's base will be gone. They'll all be voting in the D primaries because 1) the D race is neck-in-neck right now and there's a lot of bad blood between Clinton and Obama, and 2) they all assume McCain has the Republican nomination locked up.

We just need to ensure that the elections are kept honest.

Never forget that the Dems who think Bush "stole" the election(s) will think that justifies them stealing an election. Don't let them cheat.

The cool thing is that some will try to cheat, but because God's hand is moving in this election, the cheaters will be exposed, just as Rather was exposed during Rathergate. God is good. :-)

I submit to you that "myamphibian" is part of Hillary’s 2008 campaign game plan.

Absolutely HILLarious for him/her/it to call say, "I’m sure you’re a left wing liberal plant."

Really, Hillary, is that the best you can do?

As Huckabee said on Colbert, "Game on!"

jgapinoy, I've just reviewed this page for all of your posts, and it becomes clear that your posts are like myamphibian's: weak and offensive.

You both need to go back home where you belong.

Stop trying to get a Democrat to be the Republican nominee, and go support your Democrat of choice, who will lose in November.

Voting Huckabee would be a grave mistake:

You vote for releasing murderers and rapists.
You vote for tax hikes and stealth taxes

Good news:
Huckabee is over 95% of the way to reaching his goal for 2/12 of raising $1M .

Challenge:
If you want the border fence built, put your money where your mouth is. Contribute to Huckabee's campaign.
