Islamist extremists have infiltrated Government and key public utilities to pass sensitive information to terrorists, the security services have warned…
The development is detailed in intelligence reports circulated to the Home Office, police and Whitehall officials.
The London Underground, Gatwick airport and BT are cited as examples of organisations which have been targeted by individuals linked to terrorists…
Several police officers and civilian staff are being monitored amid claims they are long-term sleepers trying to gain sensitive information of use to terrorists.
Some are even believed to have attended terror training camps in Pakistan or Afghanistan…
MI5 has warned in the past that suspects with “strong links” to Osama Bin Laden have tried to join the British security services and, in January last year, exiled radical Omar Bakri claimed that Islamic extremists were infiltrating the police and other public sector organisations.
Anyone think this isn’t happening here?

I think it’s really only a matter of time…and 9/11 will seem like a day at the park compared to what we’re in for.
God help us.
JetBoy on February 11, 2008 at 8:34 PM
Infiltrated? More like the Brits opened the doors and said, “Come on in! We insist.”
Blake on February 11, 2008 at 8:35 PM
Fear not! This wont interfere with us allowing thousands of islamists into our country each year at all.
I know you guys were worried.
;)
DwnSouthJukin on February 11, 2008 at 8:35 PM
Not us, them. We’re doing fine, knock on wood. However, the Brits have pretty much allowed, if not encouraged, jihadis into their society and bent over backwards to appease them.
Blake on February 11, 2008 at 8:37 PM
I don’t understand. Why are these Muslims helping people who will engage in “anti-Islamic activities”?
It just doesn’t make sense.
see-dubya on February 11, 2008 at 8:40 PM
ABSOLUTELY it IS.
I think it’s even happening in congress plus we just caught someone in the Pentagon.
It has been the goal of islam, as taught in the koran, for 1300 years to take over the world.
“Change ‘em, make ‘em pay big taxes, or kill ‘em”.(’em=infidels)
Does anybody really think they’ve ever stopped?

Should make for interesting TV when the sh**head islamist/muslims start blowimng stuff up. What a shame. England was a good country and a good friend for years and years. To see it collapse and die a slow death is terrible. But I think we should learn from this and STOP THESE THUG/ KILLERS FROM DOING IT IN THE US!
countywolf on February 11, 2008 at 8:43 PM
Symbiosis. Jihad expedites Islamization while Islamization facilitates jihad.
RedWinged Blackbird on February 11, 2008 at 8:44 PM
Infiltrated? The MC/PC brigades in the UK instituted affirmative action.
IIRC, UK allowed panels of Muslim community leaders to scrutinise intelligence in advance of anti-terror raids, hijab clad airport personnel frisking a nun, military quotas, intelligence quotas etc.
What, in tarnation did they expect?
heroyalwhyness on February 11, 2008 at 8:45 PM
Oh I know, I’m quite surprised too.
I don’t think we will have to worry though, what with Bushco. leaving office in a few months. Who’d attack us then?
billy on February 11, 2008 at 8:46 PM
They are also heading up the Anglican Church…
I hope all Americans are watching what is happening to the Brits…

d1carter on February 11, 2008 at 8:48 PM
Not surprising. PCism will be the death of that Empire.
SouthernGent on February 11, 2008 at 8:49 PM
We mustn’t assume that the Jihadi infiltrators are muslims. That would be Islamophobic.
thuja on February 11, 2008 at 8:50 PM
Maybe…but are WE really “doing fine”? Check out AP’s link to a previous post…I have no doubt that the same thing is happening here, and probably many other western countries. Agreed, the Brits have been much more, shall we say, “accommodating” to their Islamic population. But we’re not exactly far behind.
JetBoy on February 11, 2008 at 8:52 PM
Anyone think this isn’t happening here?
Not according to the Dems. And we can always talk nicely to them, remember that.
RWLA on February 11, 2008 at 8:53 PM
Given the complete uninhibited reign Muslims receive in London I am not all surprised to hear this. I visitied London twice last year and was amazed to see how far back the Brits will bend to accomodate Muslims and avoid offending them. You think we have it bad here? Spend a day in London and you will beg to fly home to America.
The only language radicals understand is strength. Another word for strength is violence. It will get much worse in the UK before (or dare I say, “if”) it gets better.
cannonball on February 11, 2008 at 8:54 PM
Reminds me of “Witness” - mass infiltration of the US Gov’t by Soviet agents. I guess we don’t remember our history, so we are doomed to repeat it?
TX Mom on February 11, 2008 at 8:58 PM
This seems a good place to mention my current strategies for talking to moonbats. I ask them how much hate crime against gays by muslims and how much honor killing they are willing to tolerate before they admit that muslim immigration is a bad idea? I demand actual numbers. What if the number of hate crimes against gay were ten times as much as now? What if the leading cause of death among women from ages 17-30 were honor killing? Is this enough to get you to admit that muslim immigration is bad idea? I say “I want an honest decision.” I say “These are decisions you face.”
I try to force the bummer reality down their throats. It sometimes works.

We are looking at the rot in concentrated form from a distance add that to your perspective.
It is not too late, it will never be too late to correct this problem. It may be too late to do it with the minimum loss of life however and the longer it takes will be reflected in the violence released. Like winding up a spring to it’s trigger point.

The Brits are no more able to cope with this than they could Burgess/MacLean/Philby, among other leaks, since 1945.
As another poster said, the body count will run higher the longer this goes on. It will be especially hard on the Brits who are unable to even consider self-defense an option, after the thorough training they have had against needing it and punishment of those cheeky enough to not learn the lesson.
To think we descended from these people is both incredible and alarming…we may go down the same path…

I don’t know the religious demographic breakdown of the commenters on this blog - who is atheist and who is Christian. I’ll say this though: the anti-British prejudice by certain commenters on this blog is not only disgusting and hypocritical, it is vile and evil.
To the Christian commenters here I would say that you cannot honestly chastise a culture for being post-Christian whilst simultaneously disregarding Christ’s command to “Love Thy Neighbour” by cheering for the demise of your chief ally. You can’t have it both ways. The daily outpourings of anti-Brit bile are unbelievable and incredibly shocking.
To the atheists here I say where is your Hitchens-style instinctive expression of human solidarity?
I like this blog and appreciate my privilege to comment on it but I do not accept the Two Minutes Hate Against Britain which has become a recurring feature.
P.S. My comment has focused exclusively on moral objections. What are the strategic justifications for junking historic allies like Britain, France wholesale whilst clinging desperately to non-entities like Anbar Province?
aengus on February 11, 2008 at 9:35 PM
God save the Queen! unless she has been infiltrated too?
Captain America on February 11, 2008 at 9:41 PM
Aengus, we are no ‘junking’ Britain and France. We are pointing out facts. Paris is burning thanks to disgruntled Muslims, and Britain is slowly losing control thanks to uninhibited inbound Muslim immigration. I LOVE Britain, and I am of French heritage. To me this is like seeing a beautiful neighborhood falling victim to gang violence, drugs and crime. This happened to my childhood stomping grounds, and it is happening on a larger scale in Britain/France.
What does it mean to be ‘post-Christian?’ Does this mean the tolerance of religious fanatics unwilling to adapt to their guest nation while at the same time demanding the adoption of their own culture? If so, I’ll pass.
With all due respect, please don’t let emotions blind you from reality.
cannonball on February 11, 2008 at 9:44 PM
This kind of question is so ridiculous its risible.
aengus on February 11, 2008 at 9:46 PM
I for one am not anti-Britain. I have spent quite a bit of time over the last several years in the UK. I spent a few weeks in Scotland this past year. They are losing their culture, I don’t want them to. I don’t want Sharia law to govern that country or this one. I have experienced the anti-American feelings in the UK. It is unsettling.
It is up to the people of Britain to choose. Should we just turn a deaf ear, close our eyes, and be quiet?
d1carter on February 11, 2008 at 9:52 PM
Multiculturalism!
Diversity!
Non Gender Neutral Designations!
Enlightened Diplomacy!
It all equals surrender to me.
Britain has a serious case of the pansies, and the next to catch it…is us.
Remember folks…profit, the free market, right to bear arms, independence, personal responsibility…these are all EVIL things. Collectivisim, pacificism, diversity and feeling good are the future. Embrace Dhimmitude. Embrace Obama, embrace Shrillary.
Montana on February 11, 2008 at 9:58 PM
No it’s not. It is a reasonable question from someone possibly evaluating how to move forward in the absence of others.
This stuff happens because people let it happen. They thought someone else was going to ‘take care of it’ or ‘fix it’.
Everyone needs to wake up. You’re on your own. Quit looking to the federal, state and local governments for the solution. Tough times are around the corner. Might event have to go without American Idol for a couple years.
Crime in your neighborhood? Purchase a firearm and protect yourself. Jihadis coming? Bloated pig of a government bordering on tyranny? Purchase a firearm and get prepared.

I did no such thing. I said that the anti-British prejudice by certain commenters on this blog is not only disgusting and hypocritical, it is vile and evil.
I was referring to comments over the last few months that called for and celebrated the death of Britain.
I pointed out that this is a un-Christian attitude, which it is.
I made no reference to Americans which I assume is what you mean by the only people who not only can help you.
In fact I have never displayed an anti-American attitude on this blog or anywhere else, ever.

Your positive actions in your own sphere are commendable. I wish everyone here could (or would) report their own contributions to the defense that we must all join together to undertake. Which brings me to:
Right here, brother. But this forum does not encourage solidarity. On the contrary, it encourages an “every man for himself” mentality.
There are no “strategic” justifications. It’s just, well, fashionable. Among the jokey, mocking set. And, with exceptions, we all flit in and out of that territory, please forgive us.
For the most part, what I hear is horror and disbelief at what is happening in our allied countries. Have you noticed the uptick in comments recommending stockpiling of brass and lead as precious metals?
Our own immigration policies are geared towards turning our backs on illegals and goodness-knows-who on our borders, while policing our quotas on legal immigration from friendly nations like a SWAT team.
My recommendation: find an ally and (or on) another island.
RushBaby on February 11, 2008 at 11:12 PM
Well. I intended that post to sound warmer than it reads once posted. I edited out the stuff that would inevitably be mocked, and I’m ashamed for that.
aengus, what I meant to say was, come to my island, you are welcome here.
RushBaby on February 11, 2008 at 11:35 PM
Arm yourselves, my friends. This is just a baby step towards the subjucation of Islamic rule in this country. They are already here; just not strong enough, just yet, to their attempt the overthrow of our way of life. It is happening here already and it will require our unification toward the threat to repel (or hopefully, crush) their movement. What can be done to rid ourselves of this threat? I fear for my children with the direction our government is going with regard to the accommodation of groups like CAIR, etc.?
mogilla on February 12, 2008 at 12:57 AM
Echo and +1 here, mogilla. The local paper here in our sleepy University town published a story about some ’slime bunch buying some property close to campus. The usual left-wingers who write letters to the editor were silent. I raised some loud questions, and was hushed down by the people who should have been right on the issue. Our leaders and politicians are IGNORANT AND FOOLISH.
The issue has not reached the tipping point in this country. Our only hope for that, probably and unfortunately, is that the ’slimes will get in too much of a hurry after the election ‘08.
That’s this year, for those of you in Rio Linda.
RushBaby on February 12, 2008 at 1:09 AM
Most of us are watching what is happening in England with horror and disbelief, much as anyone would feel when a beloved cousin starts to go wrong. Sometimes our humor gets a bit black to help a bit with the pain we know is coming for you folks, but it isn’t meant to be malicious. We probably have a few who go a bit far, but we also take a fair amount of ribbing from the Brits. The gap between cousins does appear to be widening, but the U.S. is a good place to be for the jihadi conflict that is coming, unless a Democratic president decides to confiscate our guns

Europe’s open-borders finest hour. This is what has happened through-out history to any country that has surrendered its culture in favor of multi-culturalism. It’s only going to get worse in England. Time is short to get Muslims out of their country.
The U.S. is next with the Hispanic invasion. Like England, our spineless politicians are terrorfied to do anything to stop the invasion for fear of offending someone and losing their power. Most of them will be dead in 20 years and they don’t give a damn about the legacy they leave their children and grandchildren.

With our brand of PC and our ACLU does anyone really think we can stand together as a nation anymore. Give it up conservatives, it’s over. No other nation was ever strong enough to bring us down. As Pogo once philosophized…..”we have met the enemy and he is us”.

The FBI and the CIA are putting recruitment advertisements in pro-terror publications. So yeah, it’s probably happening. Something to keep in mind the next time someone cheerleads for warrantless wiretaps and other intrusive governmental powers. Would they be comfortable if it were a Jihadi doing the wiretapping without judicial oversight? SECOND LOOK AT THE CONSTITUTION!

RushBaby, a capella,
Thanks, your points are well taken. I tend toward over-defensiveness on this issue because its so, well, depressing to me. Bryan wrote a post about his own state not so long ago entitled “Lone Star Dhimmis” so blanket anti-British sentiment is an overblown charge.
However I don’t see any point in hopping to some other island. This is a worldwide phenomenon so that running away instead of fighting seems pointless in that eventually there will be no where left to run to.
I’m not even afraid of dying. It’s just just this long drawn out slow death of civillisation that I find so demoralising.
