Hmmm…living in the wasteland desert waiting to blow myself up vs. living in town with the infidels…

I’d take the infidels.

malan89 on February 10, 2008 at 10:01 PM

But..

Pelosi calls Iraq a ‘failure’ ?

LOL

Chakra Hammer on February 10, 2008 at 10:02 PM

Because this would help the GOP, I’d be surprised if the NY Slimes or the Washington ComPost cover it.

jgapinoy on February 10, 2008 at 10:03 PM

Pages 6-8 in the English translation document…priceless. Burn in hell democrats and “jihadists”.

SouthernGent on February 10, 2008 at 10:05 PM

Oh Pooh! I thought this is the way McCain threw out the conservatives when he thought they didn’t matter anymore:

the author describes an Al Qaeda a Republican Party in crisis, with citizens growing weary of militants’ Huckabee’s presence and foreign fighters McCain supporters too eager to participate in suicide missions smear campaigns rather than continuing to fight on the issues where the Senator’s position is completely indefensible.

highhopes on February 10, 2008 at 10:25 PM

The memo — believed to have been written in summer 2007 — cites militants’ increasing difficulty in moving around and transporting weapons and suicide belts because of better equipped Iraqi police and more watchful citizens, Smith said.

But..but…but…Nancy just said that the surge failed. I don’t understand. Maybe this calls for that willful suspension of disbelief thingy.

They are so invested in defeat it’s sickening. They aren’t even loyal enough to the country to happily admit they were wrong and embrace the success. Unfortunately the American people won’t even hold them accountable for it. Sad (and frightening for what it says about our long term future).

TheBigOldDog on February 10, 2008 at 10:32 PM

The Koran says the ocean is a wasteland desert, with the perfect disguise above… Oh wait, that’s the Eagles.

2Tru2Tru on February 10, 2008 at 10:38 PM

The Demokrats don’t care about winning only whining.
I doubt the MSM will cover this success on the nightly news.
If the democrats win in November, Al Qaeda wins.

Kini on February 10, 2008 at 10:38 PM

Pelosi: (fingers in ears) LALALALALALALALALALALALALALA!

ThePrez on February 10, 2008 at 10:40 PM

Pelosi’s complain exposes the fundamental problem with democrats:

they believe that all change/progress happens from the top down (government to the people) and is forced upon the people legistlatively; while in reality it happens from the bottom up (people to the government).

Until she/they realize this; they’re perspective will always be skewed.

lorien1973 on February 10, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Don’t tell the dems. They’ll try to send them economic aid.

TexasDan on February 10, 2008 at 10:50 PM

In unrelated but otherwise important news, one of my songs hits number 5 on the charts while the CD hits number 6, surely Allahpundit will have to take notice of me now and make a thread about it…. ;p

lorien1973 on February 10, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Pelosi is a moron. They say that they want progress with the Iraqi government now that the military has done it’s job. Compare the progress with the democratic congress against Iraq’s and they have probably made more.

Les in NC on February 10, 2008 at 10:53 PM

…foreign fighters too eager to participate in suicide missions rather than continuing to fight…

Forward thinking recruitment tactics.

Someone’s gotta say it.

jerrytbg on February 10, 2008 at 10:58 PM

We find ourselves in a wasteland desert

They’re just realizing this now? What did they think they were living in, the Bahamas?

amerpundit on February 10, 2008 at 11:00 PM

Eff Pelosi.

And death to AQI.

Heh heh he, in a strange kind of way I think that is a bad thing. I’m sure your solution to their wasteland problem would be beneficial for everyone involved…

doriangrey on February 10, 2008 at 11:16 PM

you know, for all the hangwringing about Iraq being the “unneccessary war” and Afghan. being the “just, good war”. Its telling that Al-Qaeda made a signficantly bigger stand in Iraq, not Afghanistan. Which all political BS aside, that should be telling enough for a thinking person.

It is for thinking people, liberal/democrat/socialists are not thinking people, they are feeling people.

“They create a desert and call it ‘peace’.”

That “…with the perfect disguise above…” line is from the band America.

Let a thousand wasteland bloom… under daisycutters.

Yup, and they neither think nor feel, they smoke crack/pot and rant about conspiracies. Fools and damned fools the lot of them.

doriangrey on February 11, 2008 at 12:04 AM

Just last August, Barack Obama was pronouncing the Iraq War a “Complete Failure. That’s with a capital C and a capital F.

Well one thing’s for sure, it certainly will be a failure once Hussain Obama has his hands on the tiller and implements his defeatist campaign promises of retreat and appeasement. We need to finish these a**holes off over the next couple of years while the going is good.

Pax americana on February 11, 2008 at 12:27 AM

lorien1973 on February 10, 2008 at 10:47 PM

The problem with that is while they may believe in the former, they (rather than us) have worked like maddogs on the latter…and it has paid off. We need to learn from that.

Connie on February 11, 2008 at 12:39 AM

Allah, how come every time picture of Bin Laden has a picture of Bert photoshopped right next to him? Is it because Bert’s favorite letter of the alphabet is “W”?

I don’t get it.

DubiousD on February 11, 2008 at 12:42 AM

Well it could be a plant,(just a conspiracy angle so the trolls don’t feel left out!),but with the sophisticated
US Military weapons, the virgin lovers(No disrespect to the great State of Virginia)are on the run,and the only tactic
they have left are car bombs and there down to the children
as well as the mentally challenged!

canopfor on February 11, 2008 at 1:08 AM

Actually, my favourite quote was from page 1 of the translated document on Foxnews.

“There were almost 600 fighters in our Sector before the Tribes changed course 360 degrees…”

lol

Enjoy your BDS, grasshopper; time grows short.

Nichevo on February 11, 2008 at 5:15 AM

Those so-called Al Qaeda documents were obviously produced by Karl Rove. Man, you wingnuts are so gullible.
When it come to military matters, who are you gonna listen to? David Petraeus or Nancy Pelosi? It’s Miss America every time.
I’m just so disappointed she didn’t run for president.

infidel65 on February 11, 2008 at 5:25 AM

Mmmmmmm…. toasty.

Yes, give em hell. Literally.

Zorro on February 11, 2008 at 6:36 AM

Good news indeed, I saw mention of this on Fox this morning. But I am afraid you will not see anything about it on most other MSM outlets. It’s an election year you know. All news is bad!

conservnut on February 11, 2008 at 7:40 AM

Many thanks to our wonderful U.S. troops, who made this happen.

AZCoyote on February 11, 2008 at 8:25 AM

Not to rain on any parades, but…. the primitives who defected to our side, who we now train in advanced (read post 6th century) tactics, will desert our side just as quickly should the other side offer 2 jars of camel fat and a goat with child bearing hips.

It is a hallowed tradition in those parts to drop your allegiance and take up the cause of the other side at the first sign of difficulty.

I’m lovin anything that hurts AQ, but I’m crossin my arms, and tapping my toe before I put on my rose colored-John Lennon-groovy-glasses while reading the malaprop ridden diary of some savage with bugs in his beard and his skivvies wrapped around his head who we hold up as a high level AQ leader.

Alden Pyle on February 11, 2008 at 9:25 AM

I never tire of that Bert/Osama pic. Precious.

CliffHanger on February 11, 2008 at 11:23 AM

2Tru2Tru on February 10, 2008 at 10:38 PM

Um, actually, not the Eagles. It was “Horse with no name” from the band “America,” whose lyrics, in general, were so completely nonsensical that they seemed like computer-generated random phrases. Sounded good, though.
