Whoa there…

First off, the whole “Gate D” thing was isolated…even regular game goers like myself had no idea that crud was going on.

Second, Belicheat and the Pats claim (”claim” being the word here) that the Jets had done the same thing (taping) the year before, but the Pats didn’t want to say anything. Yeah, right. They were just being “nice”…

Final word? Patriots cheat. The NFL certainly said so…fines, and loss of draft pick.

Dude, have a little respect for the Giants. They went on the road and beat the #1 and #2 seeds in the NFC and then an undefeated team in the Super Bowl.

Choke? Choking is when you’re 14-2 and have the league MVP and lose at home in your first playoff game or your 15-1 and you lose the AFC Championship game at home. Chocking is not losing in the Super Bowl by 3 points due to a couple of minor miracles including perhaps the greatest catch in Super Bowl history to a team that knocked off the 1 and 2nd seeds in its conference on the road.

I’d argue the 1985 Bears were a better 18-1 team in the end, as they finished the job and lost only to a good Miami team.

Oh yes, and they demolished New England in the Super Bowl that year. Bears finished strong, outscoring opponents 91-10 in that playoff run, while the Patriots wheezed to the finish line.

The 18-1 Niners the previous season weren’t too shabby, either.

Blaming bad luck and his guys play and giving NO credit to the GREAT play of the Giants will be remembered as much as his loss, by some.

All of the Patriots players who were asked about this after the SB, without exception, agreed with my take, i.e. winning sixteen games is a meaningless accomplishment when you can’t bring home any jewelry proving you were the best team in the NFL that year.

Of course they want to win it all and they’re disappointed when they don’t. But I’m in their market and I’ve watched plenty of the coverage without seeing anyone on the team say that the undefeated regular season is meaningless. Got quotes?

They demonstrate that the comparisons between The Patriots and previous, better, teams are inaccurate.

The people who continually harp upon the supposed weakness of The Dolphins schedule never seem to bring up the fact that they played in an era when the rules were completely different. Yes, The Patriots have a great offense irrespective of the current NFL rules, but the fact that Brady benefits enormously from those rules was never brought up by people making the argument that this team deserved to be classed in the same field as the classic Dallas, San Francisco or Pittsburgh franchises.
