I wonder if the ACLU would get involved in the First Amendment problem that we have with McCain if he were elected. They would be fighting a R, after all.

Good grief, Geraldo is on Fox & Friends right now arrogantly warning that McCain just BETTER not tack to the right on this issue b/c he will lose the hispanic vote and then will lose the election.

Then Geraldo goes on to say that he wouldn't have voted for Mitt because of his stance on illegal immigration (even though Mitt told him his only concern was with illegal immigrants) and told Mitt this on O'Reilly because "we all look alike." I had to turn the channel. Am I wrong to think that criminals who look like me should not get a pass? Am I missing something?

“Vote for McCain or the Hildebeest wins!”

Pathetic.

I hate the cow with a purple passion, but if there’s one thing I’m NOT, then it’s afraid of a second-rate, inexperienced, incompetent, Stalinist harridan. I’ve survived worse. MUCH worse.

And I’m certainly not skeeeeeered enough of her to sacrifice my sacred honor and Oath to the Constitution by voting for the sleaziest bag of excrement to come down the pike. McAmnesty can take his bromides, wrap them around a stick, wrap the stick in razor wire and shove it. Sideways. Then rotate it.

Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees, licking the hand that beats you.

A lot of people in this country need therapy for their battered spouse syndrome.

But NOT voting for McVain and allowing the dems in the White House purely out of spite is also a sign of dementia…

Califemme

Ok, so you can clarify where I'm going wrong?

McCain didn't sue the FEC in 2005 to force them to regulate political speech on the internet?

McCain has changed his opinion on CFR since 2005?

The President doesn't get to select FEC Commissioners?

Regulating political speech on the internet, treating non-journalist blogging as "in kind" donations deserving of fines, and stopping issue communications within 60 days of an election isn't worth fighting against?

Sorry, I'm missing the part that I got wrong. McCain was worked long and hard to remove the First Amendment regarding political speech and I don't think he's done. Everything he's done in the past points to him continuing this line of attack, and I'm certainly not willing to support the destruction of Constitutionally protected rights; regardless of which party is trying to dismantle the Constitution.

What part of that is dementia?

Or is blocking Hillary/Obama worth damaging the Constitution for? I don't disagree that Hillary/Obama is bad, but in my book, McCain is worse.

With Cornyn about to endorse ole "F-Bomb" McCain, you guys seriously think we'll be able to rebuild the Republican party with him in power? You're delusional.

Every bloody Senator and House member is going to say "Right Chief!" so they retain their Congressional seat, and you think we can build around that sycophancy?

You don't solve a problem by allowing it to continue.

Just because McCain served doesn't mean he is good for the troops. Yes, he was a POW so he won't screw them the same way other Presidents have, but he wants to close Gitmo which means from now until the second coming, any time we are in a war and encounter enemy combatants, they will get Constitutional rights and public defenders.

That is about as anti-troops as you can get. Here, risk your life soldier, so when we capture terrorists that tried to kill you, your tax dollars can go to the public defenders hired to help them so they get full access to the appellate system and whatever lawsuits the ACLU decides to fund! It is so crazy and wrong, I don't know where to begin.

If you define McCain being 'good' to the troops only within the parameters of he won't bring them home tomorrow, you're right. But it's much more than that.

Think about it... McCain cares more about terrorists being offered additional rights than he does about protecting the free speech of law-abiding legal Americans.

As an aside, neither Hillary or Obama would give a timetable during the debates for the time to withdrawal. They know, especially with the surge going well, that they'll look like yellow bellies if they leave now.

There are dozens of things McCain could have said that would have softened me. Things like, "I'm sorry the rhetoric during the immigration debate got so heated on our side", "I will not allow millions of people who broke the law to benefit from it", "I'm sorry I didn't support the tax cuts the first time around and used class warfare to disparage them; it won't happen again", "I understand that people are upset by campaign finance laws and I certainly think perhaps it was a bit draconian and we could revisit it", "I'm going to fire Juan Hernandez as soon as I f-ing get out of here, I promise", "I'm sorry it took you guys calling so much for me to get a clue" are a few. He needed to admit responsibility and own up; he didn't.

By the way, if you're going to vote for McCain in November, you might want to invest in these:

Seems like someone should file a federal suit asking them to enjoin congress from diluting our constitutional vote with those of criminals. But then I am still amazed that here in Houston, if an officer stops a van for a routine traffic stop and finds 15 Hispanics with no license, id, or visas and not one can speak english (a requirement of gaining citizenship) they can't call ICE? Seems to me that a buss load of Americans in the same situation in any other country in the world would be treated much differently.

...that is what McCain means when he says the people don't trust government to fix the border mess. If McCain is in favor of open borders like many here say, why was border security not left out of his bill entirely?

Somewhere between blanket amnesty and mass deportation at gunpoint lies the answer. The sooner we admit that some illegal immigrants will be able to stay, the sooner we can actually get something done on immigration. Most of the outrage over the immigration bill was that border enforcement was not emphasized enough.

And how! We need to start with the RNC. Someone needs to do some serious digging around to find out what the idiots there think they are doing. They are the reason we're in this awful mess. Some serious house cleaning is needed there.

Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees, licking the hand that beats you.

A lot of people in this country need therapy for their battered spouse syndrome.

Exactly.

BCS (Battered Conservative Syndrome).

Please Senor Juan may I have another punch in the mouth?
I love you. Just tell me you forgive me for angering you before and tell me that you love me too.

Pathetic!

The troops, through their donations, have voted they want out of Iraq.

muyoso on February 7, 2008 at 5:38 PM

Of course they want out. And they sure don't want to be there for fifty years or as Juan McSurgo said, "Make it a Hundred!"

I am sure that they would like to at least see the last of Iraq before they have to start speaking Spanish in what used to be the U.S.A.

Anyone who has been in a dragged out war zone should know that, unless there have rewritten their memories.

Maybe we'll all get lucky and some little-known McCain sex scandal will leak out before the convention, forcing Juan and Cindy into a permanent retreat. If so, I can see 2 benefits: 1) we get to start fresh at the convention, and 2) McCain gets to live out his diaper yrs surrounded by the people he loves best, the Mexican illegals trying to annex Arizona... he can be their leader.

The only thing we can do is try to put the lesser of the evils in office and then concentrate on rebuilding the conservative movement and try to take back the House and Senate.

SORRY, I didn’t see the NEED to randomly CAPITALIZE certain words to SHOW that I’m not filled with EMOTION. But that is OFTEN the sign of CRAZY RAMBLING instead of rational DEBATE.

I get you, SORRY, MY bad.

But NOT voting for McVain and allowing the dems in the White House purely out of spite is also a sign of dementia...

bucktowndusty,

I'm just trying to point out that as bad as McCain is, Hillary and/or Obama would be far, far worse. McCain really doesn't stand much of a chance against either one of them unless we all come back to reality and realize that voting for an obscure candidate that can't possibly win or simply not voting will make the Dem a sure thing. We now know that we won;t be teaching the Reps a lesson -- it sure didn't work in '06. The only thing we can do is try to put the lesser of the evils in office and then concentrate on rebuilding the conservative movement and try to take back the House and Senate.

db and Cali, Jesus. I'm not voting "D" (read my website FCS) If the Constitution Party has the most conservative person I will vote for it. Whatever label the person has that is the most conservative I will vote for that person (most often not a "D").

Chasing back on some of the links above, I found this to be absolutely eerie:

I wonder if we can explain to McCain that the Newspapers and the MSM won’t get him the nomination for President.

Unfortunately, Snake307 was wrong.

Shamnesty '09 will kill this country - permanently.

Start manning the phones and FAXes!

My decision on McCain is made. The only thing that has the possibility of changing it is his Veep choice.

If his Veep sucks as much as he does, he ain't getting my vote.
