If I were the head of a news organization, I’d immediately fire anyone who spent time and money inviting guests and then cut them off without allowing them to make their point and/or respond to arguments. People who do this are not reporting news or telling a story: they are spreading propaganda by dishonestly representing such events as “interviews,” “discussions,” or “debates.” If they have the time to set the event up, they should allow whatever time is needed to let the event happen.

This has become a standard tactic of our narcissistic Mainstream Media types who love the sound of their own voices, but who can’t stand other peoples’ voices. Many times the idiots who do this spend the next few minutes mindlessly babbling trivia instead of using that time to finish the event properly.

Another immediate firing offense should be when an interviewer mentions to a guest how much time is left. Either make time for an honest presentation or don’t bother having it!

…but what he actually said was that he

“wanted to unite the party behind conservative principals”

…that is, when the conservative principals like Michelle, Rush, etc aren’t looking, he’ll try to unite the party into a slightly-righter-than-Ted-Kennedy leftist cabal behind their backs.

And a bit off the subject, McCain’s ‘calm down’ really irked me, the mans needs a sound spanking!

Bryan reminds us: Since 2001 McCain been “growing” in office, scoring just a 65 in 2006. And 83 makes him the 39th most conservative member of the Senate. That’s what rightly worries conservatives.

If McCain is to be considered a conservative, it would have to be as a conservative democrap.

Happy Birthday, President Reagan. We forgive you for supporting amnesty during your administration. I hope a lot more Republicans heed your 11th commandment & forgive McCain for once being wrong on immigration.

If I was Mitt, I would pull a coup at CPAC, fold it for the RNC and grab JC Watts or Bloomberg (to self fund) for an Indie spot for a Conservative Tent.

It’ll never happen, but it sure would be poetic justice for Mitt to tell the party to get stuffed and declare as an independent. McCain would crap his pants.

I think this will be clear at CPAC McCain is not a Conservative leader.

I no longer feel represented by the Republican Party on a national level. If Mitt Romney does pull a coup and goes thrird party I will gladly jump on that train. As it is I will be attending some State Party meetings over the next few months. That way I can find out if the GOP at least represents me on a State level. If not, I am checking out of the party, because it is quickly loosing and in some cases pushing out its Conservative leadership.

I’m also on that side, and there’s a twist to this. As JayHaw states correctly (can’t believe I’m saying this) that a two party system is what it ultimately gravitates to. That being said, when you have people leaving in both directions (mods and indies to the DNC) and conservatives sitting out, that Big Tent just got a lot smaller, of which may make the tent come down. You will forgive me for saying that the price paid to have the right to that vote is so high that not using it is a disgrace and an insult to those of us who paid that price.

I served my country, came home in 1975 and was insulted, spat upon and denied work, due to my veteran’s status, TO MY FACE.

Vote for someone for cryin out loud. Vote to honor the sacrifice.

I got news for ya. Actually, the News has news for ya: You ain’t the party. Your views represent a minority of a minority of a minority. Nothing wrong with that, but, I repeat, you ain’t the party.

Believe what you wish. If you believe that McCain can win without conservatives, you are welcome to try to test that theory out. In fact, at this point, it looks like that theory is going to be tested whether you like it or not.

If McCain is nominated and makes it to the White House, I think we can live in fear of his predilection for war.

He can’t win the general election without conservatives and he knows it. From what I’m hearing, conservatives are planning to either vote for the Democrat or sit out. Either way, McCain loses.

All I can say is he better be really good at CPAC.
