<blockquote>There wasn’t much time to even start to duel her on anything. Here are my follow-up comments.

Michelle on February 6, 2008 at 12:23 PM</blockquote>

If I were the head of a news organization, I'd immediately fire anyone who spent time and money inviting guests and then cut them off without allowing them to make their point and/or respond to arguments. People who do this are not reporting news or telling a story: they are spreading propaganda by dishonestly representing such events as "interviews," "discussions," or "debates." If they have the time to set the event up, they should allow whatever time is needed to let the event happen.

This has become a standard tactic of our narcissistic Mainstream Media types who love the sound of their own voices, but who can't stand other peoples' voices. Many times the idiots who do this spend the next few minutes mindlessly babbling trivia instead of using that time to finish the event properly.

Another immediate firing offense should be when an interviewer mentions to a guest how much time is left. <strong>Either make time for an honest presentation or don't bother having it! </strong>

I'll bet you thought you heard McCain say he
"wanted to unite the party behind conservative principles"

...but what he actually said was that he

"wanted to unite the party behind conservative <strong>principals</strong>"

...that is, when the conservative principals like Michelle, Rush, etc aren't looking, he'll try to unite the party into a slightly-righter-than-Ted-Kennedy leftist cabal behind their backs.

Mr Shamnesty tries to create ShamUnity.

McChavez didn't mention his conservative ratings decline, or why she likely likes him - shamnesty.

And a bit off the subject, McCain's 'calm down' really irked me, the mans needs a sound spanking!

If the Republican Party is going to be part of the problem and not part of the solution, why bother putting them in power, why even have two parties? Basically there isn’t any difference between John McClinton and Hillary Clinton. McClinton was against Alito, he is for open borders, he lies about what people say, he is anti constitution, against lower taxes and believes in the scam that is man made global warming. He wants to raise gasoline taxes by fifty cents a gallon and he wants to baby terrorist. The only thing he has not come out for is universal health care and I am expecting that at any moment. .
McClinton is going to give congress to the democrats because conservative won’t have a reason to go to the polls. So I would say that Hillary and her toady, McClinton, have pulled it off, there will be more democrats in the congress because there isn’t any reason for conservative to go vote.
The only good thing about this is the country will, as it should, get the kind of government it deserve.

<blockquote>... McCain as...the best Reaganite heir is simply self-delusional.</blockquote>

Not self-delusional, it is flat out dishonest!

<blockquote>Bryan reminds us: Since 2001 McCain been “growing” in office, scoring just a 65 in 2006. And 83 makes him the 39th most conservative member of the Senate. That’s what rightly worries conservatives.</blockquote>

If McCain is to be considered a conservative, it would have to be as a conservative <em>democrap</em>.

<blockquote>Happy Birthday, President Reagan. We forgive you for supporting amnesty during your administration. I hope a lot more Republicans heed your 11th commandment & forgive McCain for once being wrong on immigration.

As soon as you can get Reagan to rise up from his entombment come to my house and personally talk to me about McCain, you all may have a chance.

Good luck with that. Let us know how it works out for you.

Principles before Party.
GOP no more for me.

I would love to see JC Watts as the VP candidate for McCain. JC Watts can hold his own with anybody. But let's not forget something. The Clinton machine and the DNC has been gathering dirt on JC for years. The DNC and Clintons fear an incredibly smart African-American conservative. They will dig up dirt of some problems JC had in business in the early 1980s. It is all much about nothing but believe me, these scoundrels stop at nothing to destroy people. If you take what the DNC, The ACLU, NOW, the NY Times, Time Magazine et al did to Bork, Thomas, Judge Pickering, Ken Adleman And Elliot Abrams and multiply it by 100, that is what they have planned for JC if McCain has the guts to select him for VP.

<blockquote>If I was Mitt, I would pull a coup at CPAC, fold it for the RNC and grab JC Watts or Bloomberg (to self fund) for an Indie spot for a Conservative Tent.

LOL

Wouldn't that just be the icing on the cake?!

It'll never happen, but it sure would be poetic justice for Mitt to tell the party to get stuffed and declare as an independent. McCain would crap his pants.

Look, there is room in the GOP for Moderates, Independents, and even the occasional maverik, however it takes a Conservative to lead a Conservative movement and that is not John McCain. McCain can't even pretend to be conservative for more than a week at a time. He may have done several good and heroic things, but they do not qualify him to be a conservative leader.

I think this will be clear at CPAC McCain is not a Conservative leader.

I no longer feel represented by the Republican Party on a national level. If Mitt Romney does pull a coup and goes thrird party I will gladly jump on that train. As it is I will be attending some State Party meetings over the next few months. That way I can find out if the GOP at least represents me on a State level. If not, I am checking out of the party, because it is quickly loosing and in some cases pushing out its Conservative leadership.

<blockquote>I beat you to it MB4 but we are also on the same side.

I'm also on that side, and there's a twist to this. As JayHaw states correctly (can't believe I'm saying this) that a two party system is what it ultimately gravitates to. That being said, when you have people leaving in both directions (mods and indies to the DNC) and conservatives sitting out, that Big Tent just got a lot smaller, of which may make the tent come down. If I was Mitt, I would pull a coup at CPAC, fold it for the RNC and grab JC Watts or Bloomberg (to self fund) for an Indie spot for a Conservative Tent.

The beauty of this is that McCain and his deluded supporters will have to cozy up to the conservative ass and start smooching it like there is no tomorrow. He will not win without us and his only chance at winning come November is to dive into the conservative butt cheeks with all the vim and vigor that he used during his shamnesty efforts.

Get the popcorn. This is gonna be fun to watch. :-)

Anyone calling for a new party is someone that is looking for a lifetime of Democrat domination.

I hate the two party system, but we buck it unilaterally at our own peril.

Nader, anyone?

I agree with MB4 and others calling for a new party. No one should sit out the election, imho. I am writing in a candidate of my choice if one is not available.

You will forgive me for saying that the price paid to have the right to that vote is so high that not using it is a disgrace and an insult to those of us who paid that price.

I served my country, came home in 1975 and was insulted, spat upon and denied work, due to my veteran's status, TO MY FACE.

Vote for someone for cryin out loud. Vote to honor the sacrifice.

<blockquote>I got news for ya. Actually, the News has news for ya: You ain’t the party. Your views represent a minority of a minority of a minority. Nothing wrong with that, but, I repeat, you ain’t the party.

Believe what you wish. If you believe that McCain can win without conservatives, you are welcome to try to test that theory out. In fact, at this point, it looks like that theory is going to be tested whether you like it or not.

Good luck. You're going to need it - lot's of it.

If McCain is nominated and makes it to the White House, I think we can live in fear of his predilection for war.

The good news is that McCain will make, or break, himself at CPAC. Either he'll come accross as the liberal in conservative clothing that we know him to be, or he'll distance himself from the Democrats and his past record. He also needs to distance himself from the pundits and politicians who are mocking conservative talk radio and its hosts. Collectively, that media probably has 50million+ loyal conservative listeners.

He can't win the general election without conservatives and he knows it. From what I'm hearing, conservatives are planning to either vote for the Democrat or sit out. Either way, McCain loses.

All I can say is he better be really good at CPAC.
