The obligatory “Hillary’s going broke” post

Five mil in the red, senior staff working gratis, and another monster month of fundraising for the Messiah coming down the pike. Given his other advantages — likeability, oratorical, and a swell of support within the party establishment — I’m starting to think if she holds him off it’ll be an even more impressive comeback than Maverick’s was. How confident is he? He’s going after the Clenis now.
Dean-o’s already talking about a deal to avoid a convention battle. Whom to choose? The guy who raises $30 million a month? Or the gal who can’t pay her bills? If you’re the praying sort, you’d better pray for something like an 80% crossover by Republicans in those open primaries.
A reprise from last night, partly because I dig it and partly because it fits.

Republicans win out on this either way.
If Hillary falls out and Obama runs as the Dem nomination. We will have 9 months of fun showing how looney left Obama really is. Even more so than John Kerry was in 2004, and still is.
If Hillary somehow beats out Obama. We will have 9 months of fun just because…she’s Hillary.

Government works best when the government doesn’t work.
That’s why I’m now pulling for a BHO presidentcy, and at least a deadlocked Congress.

By pointing out his loony positions? The man isn’t winning now because of his positions. He’s the Messiah with the media in his pocket, a sparkle in his eye, and a message of non-descript “hope” and “change”.

While I like your optimism, I think you’re terribly wrong.
The GOP is in deep, deep trouble. McCain isn’t going to hold up well against the onslaught of the Mainstream Media. They’ve gone easy on him thus far. Just wait until he gets the same vetting that Romney, Fred! and Giuliani got. It will be ugly.

If Hillary is running outta steam and Mitt cash strapped.
How’s Obama doing on cash? McCain, Huck?

Someone get Chinatown on the phone now!!! We need to quickly invent some fake people and filter in more shady money! Can we get a note in to the joint and see if ol’ Normy Hsu has any connections for us?
By the way, am I the only one who finds it odd that Commie Hillary took in so much shady money from non-existent people in Chinatown and criminal, Chinese guy Norman Hsu… Just seems a little too perfect. I mean the modern Democratic Party is increasingly looking like a communist party, and somehow all this shady money, the source of which is still unclear, just happens to come from a bunch of Chinese? I hate to be Trutherish on this, but I’ve always thought that someone ought to be checking in to where this money original came from and I don’t think we can rule out the Chinese government.

And I’d point out it’s going to be the 72-year-old Washington-insider, whose admitted he doesn’t know about America’s number one issue (the economy), and has been in Washington for over 2 decades…Against the young, good looking black man with great oration skills and more and more supporters following him blindly.
That bodes well.

I want to see the Clintons humiliated, and losing to such a political lightweight as Obama would be the ultimate humiliation.
As for Hillary’s money worries, I’m sure the ChiComs will help her out.

Yep, I don’t think there is any local thing I’ll need to vote on, if McCain takes the GOP nom, looks like I might be registering Democrat for the PA primary. Go Hildebeest! We might as well screw things up for the lefties too.

Hill-Billy and their kid have been morally bankrupt for years so it is only natural that their finances reflect their immorality.

Montana on February 6, 2008 at 7:19 PM
True, the media will paint him as the “the Messiah” as you put it, but at some point, if nominated, he will have to answer actual questions during debates, no matter who he faces from the Republican side. Right now he’s getting by on just being a “human platitude machine” and a good speaker. Spitting out all these glorious Utopian phrases which appeals most to the Democratic base: he is the unit-er, the great hope for all, bring us all together in harmony, etc. I actually forced myself the other night to listen to him just to counter the number of substantive statements he made vs. wistful, emotional platitudes.
The Tally:
20 – emotion filled “I will change the country and bring everybody together” platitudes (and I wish I was taller)
1 – Substantive statement/position “get out of Iraq immediately”
FYI: has their ever been a president in the history of this country who has brought everybody together, which seems to be 90% of his rhetoric?
This will only carry him so far. Once he is up on stage and someone (Republican nominee or someone else) pins him on a question that needs an actual substantive answer like “how are you going to do this?” (whether it be health-care, Iraq, taxes, etc.), the luster of his platitudes will start to fade and look like they really are. A bunch smoke and mirrors…
…That or plan “B” might happen: we get another Jimmy Carter for the next 4 years, the country will fall apart into chaos and the Republican party will finally wake up and find a real conservative to lead as they did with Reagan.
Can’t help it. I’m a “glass is half full” kinda guy.
Planet Boulder on February 6, 2008 at 7:20 PM
Hey, if the GOP is gonna crack up, we might as well do the same to the Democrats.
doubleplusundead on February 6, 2008 at 7:20 PM
That could happen as a part of that plan “B” I just mentioned in a previous post. I know I’m pondering on voting or not, if McCain gets the nomination.
Planet Boulder on February 6, 2008 at 7:23 PM
Gawd, I hope Hillary wins. I consider it possible for McCain to beat Obama, but not terribly likely — the population appears to be almost entirely feelings-driven, and that favors the Dems in general and Obama in particular. He’s got ‘em swooning in the aisles.
Hillary can and will be beat. Perhaps Hillary alone could bull her way through the election season, but with Bubba on her side, she’s got no chance.

I am not as worried about an Obama candidacy as others are. I see him as a product of our media and celebrity obsessed culture that favors style over substance, just like most of the other garbage that is on TV. But this culture also tends to be fickle. People get tired and move on to something else, celebrities suffer a “jump the shark” moment. We still have a long way to go. I heard someone on the radio put it in perspective yesterday. He said that the election will not even be held until after the World Series, and players haven’t even reported to spring training yet. I think as we get into late summer the average voter is really going to look at things in a serious way. Obamamania may have peaked too early.
Mark1971 on February 6, 2008 at 7:34 PM
You seriously don’t think the GOP’s fate is already sealed? You really believe McCain could win in the GE? Regardless, the fate of the US is sealed, whichever “liberal” takes office next year.
ihasurnominashun on February 6, 2008 at 7:34 PM
Against Clinton? Possibly. There’s more dirt on Clinton than all the dump trucks in mainland USA could hold, 50% of voters consider her untrustworthy, and overall her name brings scandal and corruption.
amerpundit on February 6, 2008 at 7:41 PM
Oh gawd I am just SOOOOO broken-hearted li’l ol’ Hitlery is running outta money!
Maybe she’ll cry when she doesn’t get the nomination.
Shirotayama on February 6, 2008 at 7:46 PM
I never thought I’d be to the point where I was worried that Hillary wouldn’t win the presidential election. I wonder if she would appoint McCain to her cabinet? When was the last time a president selected a cabinet member from the other party?
Mormon Doc on February 6, 2008 at 7:48 PM
Not sure if Bush has, but her husband did. William S. Cohen was Billy Jeff’s Secretary of Defense, but was and is a Republican.
amerpundit on February 6, 2008 at 7:53 PM
Yes, that’s true, but…she got 50% of the democrat vote last night. She is corrupt. Shrill. Phony. And if you think Obama’s ideas are bad…geez, her ideas are totally insane.
So when will any of this sink in with people? Never, that’s when. You could bring Vince Back from the dead to tell his tale and it wouldn’t matter one bit.
Knock her out now…at any cost.

I am only kidding a little bit here. :)

Obama was the most Liberal Senator of 2007. Even Boehner considers Obama to the Left of her, and guaranteed that B.O. doesn’t have more than half of the general population distrusting him. He also has essentially no political dirt on him.
amerpundit on February 6, 2008 at 7:56 PM
I was/am seriously considering it.
amerpundit on February 6, 2008 at 7:56 PM
Mccain is not acceptable, and would get slaughtered once the media is done using him to weed out the real conservatives. I think that Borack could do a lot less damage than Hillary, and the Democrats would still take the blame.

the other advantage to Hillary on ticket, is it helps the Repubs. on the State level in alot of states. Where Hillary hatred is high, and would get out the vote. at this point, not so much with Obama

FWIW, Kirsten Powers is on H&C. Spinning HRC’s loss, as usual. What a moron.
fourstringfuror on February 6, 2008 at 9:27 PM
Realize we are giving an independent at best, the keys to the kingdom.
The base will become more fractured as McCain now feels more comfortable after CPAC to move back toward the left, particularly in upcoming primary states to attract the Hispanics.
Further, most distressing is to just add up the dem and rep participation in states last night. 15mil for Hillary and Obama. Guess how many total votes in the same primaries on the Republican side?
Meanwhile, just note what McMaverick says at CPAC, and what he does until the convention.

Kini on February 7, 2008 at 4:53 AM
In many ways, I am a small and petty man. I have given up on great things in this election season. I have resigned myself to the possibility that the Republicans are going to be swamped and that we are on the verge of a long twilight of Democrat domination. The only thing I can hope for is that Bill and Hillary Clinton, who have inflicted so much damage to our country, spend all of their ill-gotten money and go bankrupt, before going down to humiliating defeat.
That is not too much to ask, is it?
gridlock2 on February 7, 2008 at 5:54 AM
When you have to give back all of the ill gotten gains from the shady characters her campaign believes in is going to take its toll.
Does this mean she’s going to have to sell her house in New York and become a Senator without portfolio? Or is ‘Wild Bill’ going to have to raise his speaker fees again?
Anyway you look at it she’s just going to have to go to the copy machine again and print out more funny money.
