F7: Are you ready to donate to the Republican nominee?

posted at 4:35 pm on February 5, 2008 by Allahpundit

I’ll kick in eventually, but like I said the other day, I think Ruffini picked the wrong year to launch this endeavor.

Laura Ingraham’s on board. Are you?

Let’s get this drumbeat goin’.

Vizzini on February 5, 2008 at 4:36 PM

I’ll be donating to the conservative third party candidate, if McCain is the nominee.

Buddahpundit on February 5, 2008 at 4:36 PM

Laura Ingraham’s on board. Are you?

If it’s someone I would vote for, of course.

If it’s not someone I would vote for, of course not.

ErikTheRed on February 5, 2008 at 4:37 PM

McCain: hell no.
Romney: possibly.

John_Locke on February 5, 2008 at 4:37 PM

I’ll donate ONLY IF THE NOMINEE IS A REPUBLICAN!!!

(No money for Liberal moles)

…and not a penny for the RNC, which has wasted every cent I’ve ever sent them!!

landlines on February 5, 2008 at 4:38 PM

I’ll donate to the GOP, just because it’s part of a bigger Republican cause. Bigger donations to Congressional candidates, though.

amerpundit on February 5, 2008 at 4:38 PM

It’ll be interesting to see how pitiful our fundraising will be compared to Dems, especially having John “Let’s punish Wall Street” McCain as our nominee.

amerpundit on February 5, 2008 at 4:40 PM

No.

McCain will be lucky to even get my vote.

NeoconNews.com on February 5, 2008 at 4:40 PM

A chance to donate my own money to a candidate I disagee with, who is trying to destroy my party, and has very little chance of actually winning?
Quick let me get my checkbook.
(do I get bumpersticker along with my donation so that all my neighbors will know what an easy mark I am?)

Nope.

Onager on February 5, 2008 at 4:41 PM

I may drop a few pesos in the mail along with a brick and a head of lettuce if McCain’s the nominee, otherwise I’ll scrape up some cash.

NTWR on February 5, 2008 at 4:41 PM

Vote for the lying Democrat or vote for the lying RINO?
Humbug.

Stephen M on February 5, 2008 at 4:41 PM

McCain: Never!!!!!

CABE on February 5, 2008 at 4:41 PM

Nope.

SimplyKimberly on February 5, 2008 at 4:42 PM

Nope. Gonna save all I can to help pay that 50 cent gasoline tax to fight off global warming. This is that quiet, grass roots rebellion the GOP fears. Going to get a lot worse. They’ve lost the Hillary hate edge, or rather, diluted it out.

a capella on February 5, 2008 at 4:42 PM

No. If McCain wants to represent conservative values from the Oval Office the way his delegates represented conservatives today in WV, hell no.

So we should not only vote for, but donate to, a candidate who we don’t support, has voted against us on major issues, and has spit in our faces?

Gotcha.

amerpundit on February 5, 2008 at 4:45 PM

Interestly I just got an email from Freedom watch asking me for money to back conservative causes. I really wish I could but the one thing i have short supply of is money.

William Amos on February 5, 2008 at 4:46 PM

No money and no vote.

I donated once to the RNC and for three years I’ve been telling them to remove my name from their calling list. I will never donate money again.

Geronimo on February 5, 2008 at 4:47 PM

No more money for any of these bullshit artists. Not another penny.

If McCain is the GOP candidate, I’m voting for (presumably) Hillary. Deadly serious. If Obama is the Dem nominee, I’m walking away from the whole abortion.

If Romney (or, by miracle, another) is the main man, I’ll umm and ahh a while longer.

LimeyGeek on February 5, 2008 at 4:47 PM

I posted it in another thread but will also put it here.

Obama/ flying mario burrito 08 !

Want an obama with your fries ?

At a Chicago hot dog joint doubling as a polling place, a technical glitch left only one touch-screen machine in use, making the line to vote much longer than the queue at U Lucky Dawg’s counter, where the specials of the day included a Flying Mario Burrito for $3.09.

William Amos on February 5, 2008 at 4:49 PM

2Brave2Bscared on February 5, 2008 at 5:09 PM

I’ve received approximately 20 campaign phone calls and
automated survey campaign phone calls in the last 5 days
and ALL of them have been from McCain’s campaign. In all
the automated survey calls I selected a #1 choice and #2
choice, neither of which were McCain. Then the plethera of
recorded campaign messages started. One of them is some old
geezer who states that McCain is the best choice for
President because he was a POW and served with honor etc
etc etc, and that’s the ONLY reason the geezer gave to vote
for McCain. While I respect his service and honorable POW time, it’s hardly the most important thing on my list of
POTUS qualities.

I would not and will not vote for McCain under any
circumstances. He done burned that bridge long ago, plus
he’s a RINO snake in the grass. If it comes down to McCain
getting the nod, I’ll be voting for POTUS off party lines
for the first time in my life.

LimeyGeek on February 5, 2008 at 5:11 PM

Not one cent for tribute if it’s John McCain. While I was opposed to him on principle in the beginning, having observed his tactics as of late I don’t foresee my disgust abating sufficiently to donate to the cause, particularly since the fact that their coffers are empty is partly McCain’s fault.

These are my non-negotiable conditions:

1. Renounce McCain-Feingold and support and sign new legislation which would make it moot.

2. Change position on closing GITMO and opposition to waterboarding.

3. Stop advocating a position which penalizes taxpayers because of his misguided global warming agenda.

4. Announce support for drilling in ANWR.

5. Build the goddamned fence.

$0 if it’s McVain. If it’s Romney, $100. I might actually get an ROI from that, if his record at Bain is any indication. But it might be hopeless. I get the feeling Romney is the John Kerry of 2008, which is sad because of his business accumen.

Unrelated, for some reason a lot of Narutards are backing Ron Paul, at least if you go by any of the anime irc channels, where hardcore fans hang out. Paul and his alien-elf love child buddy Kucinich I’d say are 1 and 2.

Republicans could rock the key Narutard/Otaku/beta male vote by promising to invest defense R&D into building real life mecha and unrestricted relay broadcasts of Japanese tv stations.

Probably, but unenthusiastically. And my husband will be very unhappy.

But I’m used to contributing to candidates that I’m less-than-thrilled with.

Security Mom on February 5, 2008 at 5:24 PM

To all the people who refuse to vote for McCain with a vengence, I have to ask, why do many of you say that people who oppose the President with equal energy BDS types? McCain is a lot more conservative than Bush, all the stuff McCain sponsored Bush signed, Bush never saw an entitlement that he didn’t like, etc. Why are so many anti McCain folks so supportive of Bush when he is more liberal?

Now to all the Romney people who said that they wouldn’t vote for McCain. I feel your pain because I am a Paul supporter but I couldn’t help but notice many people telling me that refusing to vote for the Republican candidate is a vote for Democratic Socialism. Why the sudden change folks?

Now up until last week I would have considered holding my nose and voting for Romney but he chose to laugh at Congressman Paul on Florida radio and thus lost any chance of me casting my “viable” anti McCain vote, not a smart move when five to ten percent means a lot now. Also I find it rather sickening and amusing at the same time that all the “Conservatives” are running to the Massachusetts flip flopper that supports an assault weapons ban. What have you “conservatives” become? Stick with the abusive husband and this is what you get. The Republican establishment screws you and screws you some more and you’ll all crawl back in November when the Supreme Court starts coming out with a couple of close opinions and the water carriers get you to hold your nose and vote for amnesty.
