Video: Hillary getting a bad rap on new crying game? Update: One more look

We all know she’s capable of it, we all want to believe it, hence E.D.’s almost apologetic tone in dismissing it.

Doesn’t look like much, though. In fact, the AP may have solved the puzzle. She did get a little misty-eyed — but there’s a perfectly reasonable alternative explanation. Heart-ache.

Update: CNN has an extended clip. Much ado about nothing. Click the image to watch.

Update: To repeat, much ado about nothing.

Give the poor Goldwater Girl a break.

/do I really need to?

omnipotent on February 4, 2008 at 2:56 PM

Pass. No tears, no foul.
She may be crying tomorrow, however, if Obama does as well as is predicted on Super Tuesday.

Doug on February 4, 2008 at 2:57 PM

Every time I type *cough* from now on, you all know that I am really, really *emmotional*

RushBaby on February 4, 2008 at 2:59 PM

Real reason for tears.

Spirit of 1776 on February 4, 2008 at 3:03 PM

(It seems to be catching.)

tree hugging sister on February 4, 2008 at 3:07 PM

The Youtube video is no longer available.

Bigfoot on February 4, 2008 at 3:09 PM

This isn’t like New Hampshire, but there was some “choking up” going on during the intro… MSNBC has a similar video to the CNN one linked to above:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/22993295#22993295

If it was anyone else I’d say “could be real or could be fake”, but based on who we’re talking about, I’d obviously have to lean towards fake (at least in part). She was screwed in NH, she cried and it shocked the world - She somehow beat Obama who was supposed to win by double digits. Now, he’s gaining on her in a lot of important states.. Why not stick with what works?

RightWinged on February 4, 2008 at 3:09 PM

Hillary didnt cry and and angel didnt die. Phewww

William Amos on February 4, 2008 at 3:13 PM

But God! That is one horrible horrible suit!

BJ* on February 4, 2008 at 3:16 PM

She looks like a bumble bee.

mattyj86 on February 4, 2008 at 3:20 PM

She looks like a QUEEN bumble bee.

mattyj86 on February 4, 2008 at 3:20 PM

Fixed

William Amos on February 4, 2008 at 3:23 PM

And allah thank you so much for the image of Hillary staring in the “Crying Game”

Shudder

William Amos on February 4, 2008 at 3:26 PM

She admits at the end of the clip that she teared up. She teared up.

MayBee on February 4, 2008 at 3:43 PM

No, she said she was on that path.

Allahpundit on February 4, 2008 at 3:45 PM

MSNBC is running the video of the guy talking, with the close up of her. She definitely teared up, and she wasn’t coughing.

Not debunked, but I don’t think it was fake.

MayBee on February 4, 2008 at 3:45 PM

She said she’s “already not on the path” of not tearing up.
Watch MSNBC and then decide.

MayBee on February 4, 2008 at 3:47 PM

Eh I really dont care if Hillary cries or not. Im sure somewhere out there silky is getting a shampoo and its johnson and johnsons no more teams to take away the sting of his defeat tears.

William Amos on February 4, 2008 at 3:48 PM

She didnt cry this time.

And I swear to the God in Heaven, I am 42 years old and have never ever ever voted for a Democrap, but if Juan McCain gets the nomination, I am voting Democrap.

Roger Waters on February 4, 2008 at 3:54 PM

Why??? The same horrible philosophy but NONE of the responsiblity.

Roger Waters on February 4, 2008 at 3:54 PM

Who cares?

Honestly.

Who freaking cares?

Did anyone–I mean anyone at all–get what was being said?

Oh, yes…for the childruun.

We’ll make it all better…for the childruun.

Just give me control of your life and I’ll always be there…for your childruun.

She’s spent her whole life advocating that the Federal government knows better than parents how to raise…their childruun.

But no, let’s not even notice that. Let’s talk about whether or not she staged a tear, no doubt..for the childruun.

Here’s
MSNBC

MayBee on February 4, 2008 at 3:57 PM

I agree it’s much ado about nothing. But that’s different than debunked, isn’t it?

MayBee on February 4, 2008 at 4:02 PM

According to Cindy Sheehan, Hillary met with some mothers who’d lost sons in Iraq and Afghanistan. There were no tears, at least not from the Glacier.
Her tears in NH were fake, but accurate.

infidel65 on February 4, 2008 at 4:02 PM

I dunno Ap News is pushing the crying angle hard

AP NEWS PHOTO

William Amos on February 4, 2008 at 4:03 PM

Oh, now she’s coughing to get sympathy votes. Liberal women across the land will crawl over broken glass to vote for the poor lamb.
Hillary campaign slogan: VOTE FOR ME, I HAVE A NASTY COUGH

infidel65 on February 4, 2008 at 4:09 PM

Hillary “Crocodile Tears” Clinton

eigafan on February 4, 2008 at 4:12 PM

That Dr. Volkswagon there made me tear up with his pathetic intro and all that blubbering about how wonderful that soulless woman is

Buttercup on February 4, 2008 at 4:15 PM

That was pathetic. But her stupid little followers will never mention it, nor think about it.

How many times did she blink and keep her eyes closed with a final squeeze before opening them again. She was trying her Billy Jeff Best to work up some tears for the camera. She didn’t care much about the people around her, but she sure knew where the camera was…

Everyone better get it together and vote Romney. If not, McCain doesn’t stand a chance and we’ll be faced with 8 years of misery when the Clintons occupy the White House again. Only this time they’ll be able to increase taxes on a weekly basis while holding all three branches. Not to mention garnished wages to buy her health insurance…

stacman on February 4, 2008 at 4:17 PM

I’d be crying if that horrid yellow pantsuit was the best idea to come out of my wardrobe focus group.

Chuck Schick on February 4, 2008 at 4:18 PM

What’s with her Extreme OverBite?

She needs to get rid of her contacts and put her glasses back on for that truly nerdy look that she really is.

awesum on February 4, 2008 at 4:40 PM

I’d be crying if that horrid yellow pantsuit was the best idea to come out of my wardrobe focus group.

Chuck Schick on February 4, 2008 at 4:18 PM

.
All she needs is to add a ruffle breasted shirt and she’d be right in line with her hubby’s namesake…

stacman on February 4, 2008 at 4:43 PM

OK, it may not have been 22 states (she saved it for primary eve, just like in NH.)

But, I’m still giving myself credit for calling this right after SC:

Determined to reconnect with her base and regain momentum, HRC is at this moment arranging a whirlwind 9-day, 22-state blubbering tour.

Rico on January 26, 2008 at 10:10 PM

Rico on February 4, 2008 at 5:39 PM

She’s got the lip bite down pretty well, I must say.

fourstringfuror on February 4, 2008 at 6:11 PM

Oh brother…can we stop this? I would imagine that as exhaustion takes over in this campaign we’ll be seeing alot more emotion from everyone. So what? And all the red-carpet insults to her jacket? Lordy. She actually looks great in that color.

I’m supporting and have already voted absentee for Romney in CA. I will NEVER vote for McCain–I have a visceral dislike of him after watching him on C-SPAN on the immigration issue. I can’t believe the Republican machine is forcing him down our throats.

nyrofan on February 4, 2008 at 6:59 PM

As if she’s human.

DANEgerus on February 4, 2008 at 7:19 PM

I wonder if she’d cry when terrorists attack again???

stacman on February 4, 2008 at 7:31 PM

Yes, once again, wasted news, or can we even say it’s news? I wouldn’t. It’s just giving her more publicity and a chance to look “human” and maybe have more suckers to vote for her.
The only tears I’d like to see is when she loses.
Please people don’t sit home and let Hillary win even if, heaven forbid, McCain wins the nominee, and I’m praying he won’t. And while I’m at it, I wish Huckabee and Paul would drop out.
