Look…RIGHT NOW there are laws on the books in regards to people who are in this country illegally. RIGHT NOW there is funding set aside to build a majority of that border fence. If we’re not going to enforce laws we have, then I believe that no one can come up with new laws, and enforce those.

Ding, ding… you get the cookie. Now, with all those “Laws” that are on those “books”, how much is actually getting done? Yea, pretty much nothing. Which is why McCain is trotting out the “restore trust in government” line. Because we truely DON’T trust them to secure the boarder later, soon, sometime, when we get around to it… crap, we need ANOTHER Amnesty bill…

We really need to come to the realization that 12 million people are NOT going to be deported. By anyone. You can call it “amnesty” or whatever else, but I have to settle with calling it “reality”…whether I like it, or not.

Stop the tidalwave of people coming over our boarders, deport the criminals, allow the police to ask immigration status, enforce punishment of those who hire illegals… while making it easier for them to come here and work legally (while preferably holding a percentage of their paycheck at the boarder which would be given to them when they leave) and for us to track who IS, and IS NOT, in this country…. and those who are illegal will leave on their own w/o having to deport them.

There’s far too much over-reacting to the immigration issue. The GOP is tearing itself apart over it…and for what? Nothing’s changed. Even Reagan knew the reality of it. And of anyone on the ticket who’s closest to Reagan was, it’s McCain.

And look how well Reagan handled immigration? (Ref. 1st point above). Bill Bennett put it best when he said “Even Reagan was not Reagan before he was Reagan.” or something to that effect. Meaning your memory of someone is not often as it really was. Reagan is not a god and was not perfect. 1986 Amnesty bill (the one never to be repeated… like the NFA machine gun amnesty) was an example of that.

And anyone who thinks Mitt Romney’s plan of a case-by-case basis (sounds like amnesty to me!) is really going to work when you’re talking about 12 million people, is crazy. Just imagine the buerocracy that would have to be implemented just to deal with the paperwork alone?

That bill was designed to fail… just like his new “version.” We have become sheep, we don’t care abour freedom and liberty, even as it is taken from us inch by inch from these career criminal politicians. Thomas Jefferson is rolling over in his grave at the thought of what we have become.

McCain’s proposal of securing the border and separating the criminals from the workers is sensible enough.

But the shrilling about it on HotAir is more about MM’s own crusade, and her personal antagonism with Geraldo Rivera. She’s invested far too much in the issue to drop it off the top of the agenda.

Did you just get off the Willie Nelson conspiracy bus? MM doesn’t post here and her views are likely at odds (at times) with either Allahpundit or Bryan. My views sure as hell are at odds with Allahpundit.

But seriously–McCain spent all that time trying to shove amnesty down America’s throat and he just now decides he needs to enforce the law?

There is no conspiracy. There is no derangement. There are many reasons for people to not like McCain–let alone to not like the idea of him being POTUS.

But it sure is easy to press the conspiracy alarm. No need to dig into the facts and then apply reason and logic.

Besides Oprah Winfrey picks our reading material. She may as well pick out President.

His securing the border and separating the criminals wouldn’t work…didn’t you see jetboy lamenting the bureaucracy needed? How can it be both ways? Too big of a nightmare to deport them all yet they’ll find the criminals and deport them, while making all the rest pay fines?

Oh, and, I haven’t seen MM posting a comment here in, like, forever.

Just imagine the buerocracy that would have to be implemented just to deal with the paperwork alone?

Look, I don’t know how practical his (Mitt’s) plan is from a bureaucratic standpoint, but it is not amnesty. He wants to give people a chance to get their affairs in order, let their kids end the school year, and so forth – and them kick them out and have them go back to the end of the line.

That’s just it…Romney’s “plan” is not practical. It’s not even a “plan”, just ideas. What exactly constitutes “getting affairs in order?” And will he let someone stay so their kid(s) can finish their current school year, or through their entire school years?

The whole “case-by-case” thing is absurd, and ridiculous. Who decides? Is their an appeals process? Bureaucratic nightmare. And, IMHO, if someone’s here illegally, and you let them stay, that’s “amnesty”. And that’s Romneys plan?

The 2 million people who have committed crimes will be deported immediately.

I thought they were living in the shadows. How are they going to find them?

We don’t HAVE to deport 12 million. Take away the incentive to be here read: employment, free education, paid-for (by me!) healthcare, and they’ll deport themselves.

It’s already happening in places it’s being implemented.

And guess what, one of those place is in Arizona!
