19-0 or 18-1? Will Manning the Lesser avenge his brother? Will the Patriots complete the first perfect season in a generation? Will any of the commercials live up to the hype? Could I ask any more annoying questions?
Yeah, but I’ll stop. Have fun, enjoy the game, etc etc.
Update (AP): If you’re looking for the ads, they should be available on YouTube either during or immediately after the game. Keep your eye on YT’s front page and their AdBlitz channel.
In the meantime, something to help you prepare mentally for the game.
Update: The end zone pass to Burress goes down as the game winner, but this is the play that saved the game and may make the Eli Manning legend. It was 3rd and 5, 1:15 to go and the Giants down by 4 on their own 43. The Patriot D blitzes and catches Manning in the backfield, but he slips out of the Patriots’ grip to haul a shot down the field to David Tyree. Tyree makes a miracle catch, the Giants get the first down and go on to win.

Wow, I’m bummed!!! I have NEVER EVER EVER seen Tom Brady get knocked around like that and Eli Manning stepped up big time in the fourth. A great but very disappointing game. We’ll be back!
Greenhorn on February 3, 2008 at 11:08 PM
No you still have to put up with it. The Pats failed to go undefeated through the SB. Doesn’t matter how many games they won before the loss.

MITT ROMNEY CURSES THE PATRIOTS! developing….
THE CHOSEN ONE on February 3, 2008 at 11:10 PM
Ya spose Brady felt like he was facing the AA12? (filled with frag-12s)
oakpack on February 3, 2008 at 11:12 PM
was that before he blessed them or after, and was it before the lost or after, make a big difference you know, well unless you are a democrat…
doriangrey on February 3, 2008 at 11:13 PM
Let’s remember kids that Tom Brady lucked out with the “tuck rule” against the raiders. Don’t forget John Kasay kicking off out of bounds vs the panthers with 30 seconds left. Illigitimate children. Not real good family values which I know offens all hotair readers like myself. It’s good to see righteousness win out in the end. Not to mention Bilichek’s constant cheating and adulturous affairs with his secretary. America won today.
THE CHOSEN ONE on February 3, 2008 at 11:14 PM

doriangrey,
I find your music has a Tommy Bolin flavor to it. At least the few tracks I listened to.
abinitioadinfinitum on February 3, 2008 at 11:17 PM
Heh. Karma’s a bitch, huh? I’m just happy that my old Dolphins are still safe. Good job NY, good job NE. Both are great teams.
Gartrip on February 3, 2008 at 11:18 PM
Everyone knows that “Touchdown Jesus”, is in South Bend, Indiana, NOT Independence, Missouri..
Jeezz..

Most disappointing Superbowl of recent memory.
CABE on February 3, 2008 at 11:19 PM
What a upset. The first 3 quarters were fairly dull scoring wise but that 4th quarter really got interesting to put it mildly.
I love it when an underdog wins like that.
Congratulations NY Giants.
Yakko77 on February 3, 2008 at 11:22 PM
I wonder if Tiki Barber will be asking Eli for his autograph, now. Just think, Tiki,..if you had had more loyalty and faith in your team, you too could be getting a ring. Now, after you dishing dirt about them to a TV audience, they don’t even want to talk to you.
a capella on February 3, 2008 at 11:23 PM
Why thank you…
doriangrey on February 3, 2008 at 11:25 PM
Now Eli can never be second guessed for not wanting to go to the San Diego Chargers? :)
Chakra Hammer on February 3, 2008 at 11:26 PM
NFL video doesn’t work. Press play, just hangs.
spmat on February 3, 2008 at 11:27 PM
A fun game to watch. The Giants’ D rocked it to Russia tonight.

Belicheat must have been using the video equipment again…
JetBoy on February 3, 2008 at 11:28 PM
Not so, its just that now the Chargers can be fairly insulted for not trying harder to get him…Under Eli the Chargers would have won the superbowl this year…
doriangrey on February 3, 2008 at 11:32 PM
The only way this game could’ve been any better is if the Packers had won it.
Objectively, this was the greatest Super Bowl ever. That last Giants’ drive will be remembered as long as the NFL exists.
packsoldier on February 3, 2008 at 11:33 PM
Lt. Col Greg Gadson gets an assist for this win.

Roethlisberger went seventh and already has a ring.

750+ comments is too many to go through for this old fart…
Bela-upchuck, leaving the field, even with only 2 seconds left, shows just what kinda sportsman he is.
This Cowboy fan gives a big tip of the hat to Manning and crew. See ya next year.
Limerick on February 3, 2008 at 11:40 PM
I think you have to add the Giants Ccube

A great game to end a great season.
Way to go GIANTS!

You’re a good sport, BKennedy.
jaime on February 3, 2008 at 11:44 PM
The high point of the post game celebration was the locker room interview with Cheater Bill about how he felt. It was great Along those same lines, Brady’s refusal to acknowlege Eli’s greeting to him before the game even started somehow makes their loss even more delicious. What an arrogant asshole.
a capella on February 3, 2008 at 11:45 PM
Commenting before reading all comments is kinda risky, but I just have to say this to the Manning haters.
Eat crow and di…gest.
soundingboard on February 3, 2008 at 11:53 PM
Great defense NY! They really came together this year. NE cheats! More news to come on their cheating. Too bad.
bluestater on February 3, 2008 at 11:53 PM
.
The Chargers will never get to the Super Bowl with Rivers. There’s a reason he went second to Manning.
Great job Giants!
stacman on February 3, 2008 at 11:54 PM
If Eli would have went to the Chargers then he couldn’t have beat “The Best Team of ALL TIME” , “The Best Quarterback of ALL TIME” and “The Best Coach of ALL TIME” at least thats what all the sportscasters call the Patriots, Brady and Billichick.. LOL
Chakra Hammer on February 4, 2008 at 12:01 AM

BELA-UPCHUCK CHEATED, RAN UP THE SCORE ON THE DOLPHINS,RAN UP THE SCORE ON THE BILLS, AND IN THE FACE OF LOSING LEFT HIS TEAM ON THE FIELD AND RAN TO THE LOCKER ROOM. NO CLASS TO THE END

only a masshole would be surprised…no shock at all…new york dominated and boston capitulated…that’s all there is too it

hey profitsbeard you the same from jihad watch?

As a still ardent Patriots fan, I want to congratulate the Giants. They were awesome. We got beat, fair and square. The Patriots are still in my mind one of the best to ever play the game. Just not tonight.
How about Wes Wlker huh? The guy is like a squirrel.
And CHOSEN ONE, you are wierd.
Geronimo on February 4, 2008 at 12:44 AM
Is that right ? I missed the first half and pre-game.
I thought they would show more class. But I guess not.
Tough game for Junior Seau. That could be his last game
and no ring. Great player.
Texyank on February 4, 2008 at 12:55 AM
I feel like I just watched Danny Larusso kick Johnny Lawrence in the face. Pats fans will, no doubt, blame the loss on the attendance of Giselle Bundchen.

Cheaters never win!
hadsil on February 4, 2008 at 1:08 AM
Yeah, I know. The Pats have some neat guys and lots of great players on the team. Bruski, Seau, etc., and Wes Welker scares the pee out of me every time he touches the ball. But Brady and the coach are really jerks.
a capella on February 4, 2008 at 1:09 AM
Actually, it was only 13 years in the NFL.
It just felt like 48.
If you include the time he spent running for his life.
You’re correct, he never made the play-offs.
But you do know with which team the bulk of those years were spent, don’t you?
Oh, and just outta curiousity, do you know people from Starkville?
soundingboard on February 4, 2008 at 1:27 AM
HEy the refs really just let them play. Great game!
Drtuddle on February 4, 2008 at 1:30 AM
Double team?
Dude, do you know how many Mannings there are?
soundingboard on February 4, 2008 at 1:43 AM
Patriots lost! WOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Congratulations, Giants. :) They played to win and got the victory they well deserved.
Jockolantern on February 4, 2008 at 1:52 AM
There an old adage that offense sells tickets, but defense brings home championships. I think this is also a good example of a bunch of good players playing together as a TEAM, rather than a few stars trying to hog the limelight.
It looked like Eli stole a few moves from Fran Tarkenton there at the end (except of course that Eli won).
Big Blue #1!!!

Yep… same profitsbeard as everywhere.
profitsbeard on February 4, 2008 at 2:23 AM
Yes, it’s quite enjoyable.
My question is; Will that UGA Bulldawg heart lean to the Volunteer, or the Rebel, when the siblings meet in Super Bowl XLIII?
soundingboard on February 4, 2008 at 2:28 AM
Lighten up Francis.
You talking about a football player, or a politician? Sounds like the latter to me.
I’ve been singing Manning praises here tonight, but I did notice that Brady, among a few others, had his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.
Eli? Ehh…not so much.
And for the record. Brady has more Super Bowl Rings than the Manning family combined.
( I
feelpredict that will change in the future.)soundingboard on February 4, 2008 at 2:53 AM
Pats fans will, no doubt, blame the loss on the attendance of Giselle Bundchen.

I was shocked that she actually went to the game.
Gerard on February 4, 2008 at 3:25 AM
Funny how just one play would have made for a completely different end! Asante Samuels had caught that interception the headlines sure would have been very different.
Congratulations to the Giants defense, they won a well deserved victory.
The Patriots and Brady will be back and yes Tom will certainly win another few rings to the angst of many. But the bottom line is he’s a great quarterback, and those who disparage him are only sounding childish and petty.
Bob on February 4, 2008 at 5:57 AM
A die-hard Giants fan here, but I was honestly sad to see Pats lose.
Mercutio on February 4, 2008 at 7:13 AM
I’m a die-hard Giants fan and I sure as hell WASN’T sad to see the arrogant, obnoxious Pats lose.
I AM IN HEAVEN TODAY !! THE GIANTS ARE SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS!!!
And as someone who watched this team, and Eli, all year, I still don’t believe it!!! FAN-TASTIC
Always Right on February 4, 2008 at 8:02 AM
The pro-Patriots media was peacocking for the last two weeks on how the Patriots were the Chosen Ones and Tom Brady was the greatest QB of all time and that the Giants would be better served to not even show up on Sunday and idiotic stuff like that. Naturally, this pissed off the Giants to the point that you knew they were going to pull out all the stops and win this thing. If anything, Brady should be grateful that the Giants didn’t really drive the point home by breaking both his ankles and ending his career. Bottom line is simple: the better team won. Get over it, New England!
pilamaye on February 4, 2008 at 8:17 AM
YEAH GIANTS!!!!!!!
trainwife1962 on February 4, 2008 at 8:23 AM
Looks like the Pats have to go back to their original playbook to win…you know the one where they stole the plays and signals from other teams.
Looks like with the NFL slap on the wrist and being told not to cheat, the Pats have a hard time closing out the games.
right2bright on February 4, 2008 at 9:32 AM
I don’t care about the game. Get that AA-12 in the hands of our boys in Iraq NOW.
otcconan on February 4, 2008 at 10:30 AM
Did somebody mention the Volunteers???
Big Orange on February 4, 2008 at 10:59 AM
So, who won the game?
AverageJoe on February 4, 2008 at 11:12 AM
Best. Superbowl. Ever. Congrats to the Giants from a Cowboys fan!
Cowboy is a compliment on February 4, 2008 at 11:56 AM
The only downside to this victory is that Brandon Jacobs wasn’t able to drill the pigskin through Wilfork’s cavernously empty skull after trotting into the end zone.
