Even more amazing than the accusation is the fact that the embed who recorded it buried it in a post about Huck’s dopey Romney/Hillary comparison. Skip ahead to 1:31; the beginning of the question is cut off but it’s clear enough that Hannity, who announced two days ago that he’ll vote for Mitt, is the subject. Huck himself refers to “Sean” in his answer. The background here is that Mitt’s firm, Bain Capital, owns Clear Channel Communications, which in turn owns all sorts of talent, Hannity included. Not until the last few weeks, though, when talk radio broke hard towards Romney to stop McCain (and, before him, Huck) was the Bain/CCC connection an issue. In fact, we’ve gotten several tips to the effect that Bain just recently bought CCC in a last-ditch effort to monopolize the media on Mitt’s behalf; for that lazy smear you can thank HuffPo, which duly repeated it on their site before googling for five seconds and discovering that Bain actually bought CCC back in November 2006. Which means that, per Huck’s theory, Hannity’s supposedly been in the tank for Romney for the past 14 months even while he was giving tons of airtime and admiring buzz to Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson.
And of course, true to Huckabee form, not only does this come in the context of a longer class-warfare harangue (per the emphasis on Mitt breaking up companies and laying people off) but he doesn’t have the balls to own the dirty trick he’s engaged in. He qualifies the accusation by stressing that “some suggest” Hannity might be in the tank, not necessarily our “Christian leader.” We’ll see if Hannity has more balls than he does by hammering him about this the next time he’s on H&C. I’m not optimistic. Click the image to watch.
Update: Not all talk radio stars are with Clear Channel either, needless to say. Ingraham is with Talk Radio Network.

Huckabee is scum. He could care less about anything but himself and his lust for power. I am amazed that so many people continue to vote for such a blatant loser. He lies, he distorts, and all the while esposes his piety and “Christianity.” Just because he was a preacher does not make him worthy.
WAKE UP HUCKAMANIACS! Your candidate is bad for the country. As bad as Hillary or Obama. Not only is a vote for him a vote for the democrats, IT IS A VOTE FOR THE MEXICAN NATIONALIST MOVEMENT IN OUR COUNTRY.

I hope the news out of this great state of Maine is as positive as people are saying too.

Sounds more like one of those strange conspiracies Paulites would come up with.
“Well, he used to be the CEO of a company which supplied to radio stations, which runs Sean Hannity’s program, which directly links them to the Clintons and Hitler!!!”
WHAT?!
NDConservative on February 2, 2008 at 7:26 PM
Sure but Hannity’s program is not run by Clearchannel. It’s run by ABC Radio. That’s the irony of it. Hannity is on Clearchannel stations, but his home station is 77 WABC. :)
Huck’s gotta learn how to do some research here.
drdroo on February 2, 2008 at 7:29 PM
Hmmmm another conservative pundit for Romney……go figure. The same people who went after Kerry as a flip flopper support a flip flopper. I do not agree with all that Huckabee supports, nor am I religious person. But the guy is honest and consistent in his views. Talk radio continues to bash Huckabee and McCain and yet in the SC primary conservative voters went to these two. Romney was a liberal Republican and should have run as what he really is as either Gov. back in Mass. or as President. Which is he? Please…with this guy!

If and when either of them is elected, they will legalize the illegals at which point no Republican President will ever be elected due to the new 40 million strong illegals and their “unified” relatives permanent Democratic voting block. It won’t make any difference what policies anyone defends at that point. Just kiss your country good bye.

How it is nobody s going to be “happy” this year, unless we win.
McCain’s mom is right and we all need “our nose” and vote for her son.
Victory in Iraq and the WOT is the most important thing, we can keep the pressure up on him about the borders, IF he fails to deliver “measurable results”, it will be a “read my lips” moment.
Chakra Hammer on February 2, 2008 at 10:57 PM
I was going through the radio dial and came across a radical environmental show where they were trying to decide who is better, Hillary or Obama, and then some guy who had “tree hugger” in his title, really, said McCain shouldn’t be underestimated.
Igor R. on February 2, 2008 at 10:57 PM

Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn’t give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That’s why Americans have never lost, and will never lose a war… because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans.

Are you from Mass by any chance? I’m guessing not or you would be familiar with the legal struggle with the abortion issue and the fact that Mitt increased fees on specific items (similar to Tolls on toll roads), taxes are something everyone pays regardless of use.
The NRA endorsement thing wasn’t entirely false, but could’ve been portrayed better. If memory serves they made calls on his behalf but did not actually endorse him. Sean Hannity didn’t endorse Mitt either, he did say he was voting for him though. It depends on what one considers an endorsement.
Course I’m sure you’ll find some way to spin things to your purpose, but it would be nice if you tried to find venues in which you can work with like-minded individuals instead of against opposition.
drdroo on February 2, 2008 at 11:51 PM
I know, Mitt wasn’t my first choice. I would rather have someone who “embellishes” his record but has been endorsed by DeMint, Tancredo, and Sheriff Arpaio, than someone who outright lies about his intentions to legalize 12 million illegals at the first opportunity. Shamnesty is pretty much all I care about other than the WOT, and Mitt will handle that well enough. McCain may be better on WOT, but he is so much worse on the other thing I have to chose the best “package”. Plus Mitt clearly does have higher IQ.

Huckabee = McCain’s sock puppet.
And a note to the McCainiacs, Huckabots, and dilusional tools that think all it takes is waving Hillary in our faces to get us to vote for the scumbags you’re pushing:
If the GOP ticket ends up McCain/Huckabee, it’s RIP, GOP. They’d be lucky to carry Idaho. There’s people out there that are willing to hold their nose and vote for McCain (with very little enthusiasm as it is) for whom adding Huckabee to the ticket will be an absolute deal breaker.
Put another way: McCain/Huckabee would be the GOP equivilant of Mondale/Ferarro.
Well, not exactly equal, as Mondale/Ferraro lost, and lost badly, to the most popular president of the 20th century. McCain/Huckabee would lose, and lose badly, to Hillary who isn’t just hated by the American people in general, but by large numbers within HER OWN PARTY!

Under “our friend” McCain’s bill, EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL who cared to apply would get a Z visa entitling them to stay in the US permanently. You can write about all kinds of theories, but the consequence of that would be that EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL that did not murder someone or whatever would stay. There would be no political will to go after them one by one, eventually that would HAVE to be made citizens. This is clear as day, forget redemption, forgiveness, and our shared humanity. And the consequences of that: loss of country as I keep writing ad infinitum.
Igor R. on February 3, 2008 at 1:50 AM
Besides his police chief’s legal trouble, what killed Rudy’s candidacy was HIS lack of repudiation of Amnesty. I hheard many of his supporters who were very dubious about his stance on the issue as time went on.
Igor R. on February 3, 2008 at 1:54 AM
The Bill Failed, he admitted that it failed, because the people want the borders secured first, then the other debate can start afterwards.
Lets get, The borders fixed, the VISA’s and verification systems up to par, then rehash.
Chakra Hammer on February 3, 2008 at 1:56 AM
Amnesty had nothing to do with Rudy, what happened there was sloppy reporting by Politico, and blogs like this running with it and not retracting it, because they hate him.
The NY Times buried the Retraction on Page 35, something that Fox News and the rest of the “Right-Wing Blogs” have in common, “Anyone-But-Rudy”
Now you have John McCain
Chakra Hammer on February 3, 2008 at 2:01 AM
McCain IMPLIED something like this by his rhetoric. Unfortunately (or fortuntately) I wasn’t born yesterday and he is doing an incredibly bad job of convincing any of his critics about his sincerity. In the court of law, when a witness gives contradictory statements on the evidence, has a history of dishonesty, and is shown to have maintained his connections with the criminal element, his credibility is low. Between McCains association and unconvincing denials having to do with Juan Hernandez, stressing the word “first” in “securing the borders first” as some sort of a mantra, statements to the effect that he WOULD sign the bill in some cases but not others, being strangely vague until pressed hard and then all of a sudden becoming clear, he shows all signs of a man who has a single purpose in mind: get through the primaries and then blossom into what he really always wanted to be: no-holds-barred advocate of legalization.
