As for the "foot soldier in the Reagan revolution crap", the biggest economic package passed to start the Reagan revolution was the Kemp/Roth tax cut which was passed in '81, John McCain didn't arrive in the congress until '82 so he wasn't even part of the origional Reagan Revolution! Ask Vin Weber who supports Mitt!

Ann Coulter is SPOT ON! I will vote for either Obama or Hillary before McCain! If we are going to get 4 years of liberal policies that bankrupt the nation, I would prefer that they Democratic Party get credit for them...and not the Republicans! McCain is a liar!

Nobody is dissing McCain over his military service. Let's face it, he had it far tougher than most who ever served.

It is what he has done over the last two-plus decades that is deplorable.

John McCain is not going to beat Hillary or Obama. The MSM will destroy the man should he win the nomination.

Its your vote, do with it what you wish and c ya.
I prefer neither myself. McCain is looking like some wayward friggin soldier without all his marbles and Hillary is a dictator.

Good call

My number one issue is preserving the union. We need citizens who believe 'America First'. We need politicians who think America is a country, not a region

The war on terror is with people who want to erase America.

Forfeiting America to 'win' the war on terror is not a win

The senior scholar at McCain's foundation says America is not a country, it is a region

Why would McCain be the better choice to protect America, when he is busy removing the nationhood, the borders, the language and the citzenry?

I think McCain is the useful idiot. Not quite the Manchurian candidate, his rage must be fed. That is a weakness, and a weakness may be exploited

Hillary on the other hand has to show she is as smart as Bill. Hey, I could tell her she is as smart, but I do not want to give her my vote to make her feel better

Obama. Who knows. He has to prove Farrakhan is ok I guess.

What a bunch of losers

McCain has a Marine son in Iraq..
Why hasn’t any of Mitt’s sons enlisted?

I fail to see3 any relevance. America is a free country amd last I saw we had a volunteer military. Although the Left sees the military as the last bastion of the dregs and bottom dwellers of American society, actually it's the cream of the crop. The military isn't for everyone nor should it be.

No one is forced to join. An adult cannot sign his or her adult son or daughter up. Your line is as tired and worn as when it was used on Jenna and Barbara Bush.

Try some new material.

[...] Like Coulter, she says she’s serious about the nuclear option, and (presumably) like Coulter, she thinks Mitt would be a tougher out for the Dems than McCain. Would he? We’ve already had this debate, more or less, in another context, but to imagine Romney being elected at this point you have to envision him winning not one but two races as the “anyone but” candidate. Has that ever happened? Has any guy ever swept through the primaries and the general on the tide of atmospheric loathing for his opponents? It’s a sure loser against Obama, who carries no baggage and whose charm and “authenticity” (and historical significance) match up, shall we say, very neatly with Mitt’s perceived stiffness and phoniness. Anything’s possible against Hillary, but why does Tammy think Hillary would wipe out McCain, who’s always done better against her than Romney has head to head (possibly because of the greater name recognition), while Romney would give her a race? Her organization delivered an unlikely win for her in New Hampshire and an impressive six-point victory in Nevada; his organization’s 1 for 5 in hotly contested primaries against opponents vastly weaker than the one she has to contend with. Is centrist opposition to Hillary so strong that independents are going to come out in force for a weak candidate whose own party only turned to him at the eleventh hour out of panic about the alternative? Hard to believe. Which isn’t to say Hillary won’t beat McCain either, but that doesn’t seem to be Tammy’s fear. Her fear is that she won’t beat him and then we’re stuck with the RINO brand — another worry that I think is overblown. [...]

Another pundit whose celebrity has gone to their head.

Whatever Ann.

The more the Coulters and Limbaughs bitch about McCain the more likely he is to get cross over voters. Acting as if results under a McCain presidency is the same, if not worse, then a Clinton presidency shows how idiotic and unhinged some have become.

Romney or McCain will get my vote regardless. I truly don’t like either of them but I am not about to let the wicked witch and her pack of flying monkeys decide what is “right” for me, my family, and my military.

If your willing to risk it all just to prove a point……

You my friend are an idiot.

My god, what is this.

Something to give me hope that there are still Republicans out there who get it, who aren't suffering from a bout of madness over the candidacy of John McCain.

Al Qaeda can’t destroy America. They can only launch terrorist attacks that we will always overcome.

Oh. That is tremendously reassuring. I hope that, after you help get Hillary or Obama elected, and they treat the next terrorist attack as a “public safety” issue, the “public safety” issue happens to your town, not mine. Not wishing you harm, but since you have confidence that we can overcome an attack, it would be better that way.

For my part, I will vote for the candidate that intends to fight Al Qaeda tooth and nail.

Priscilla on February 2, 2008 at 9:22 PM

Indeed. "All they can do is launch terrorist attacks which we will always overcome" strikes me as rather horrifying, almost pre-9/11, logic. I mean, my god, is that the trade-off some of you want? Future terror attacks are now acceptable, just so long as you don't get McCain in the White House?

National security and the war on terror remain my number one issues. Of those who are left, McCain is the only one who's remained steadfast on those issues - to his detriment in the past. And he's the only one left who I have any sort of faith in to continue to do what's necessary. I know that the two Democrats won't do jack, seeing as they see it as little more than a "law enforcement matter", and Romney has yet to convince me he'd be better than McCain on the issue.

I have voted republican for 52 straight years. I live in Arizona and know what McCain is capable of .... I will NOT vote for him under any circumstances. I will write in Micky Mouse as I think he would make a better candidate. I will vote for republicans on the balance of the ticket this year. McCain WILL RUIN the republican party if nominated.

I truly don't like either of them but I am not about to let the wicked witch and her pack of flying monkeys decide what is "right" for me, my family, and my military.

If your willing to risk it all just to prove a point......

You my friend are an idiot.

Chakra, yeah, he did good to vote YEA on confirming Alito and Roberts. So did every other Republican except for one NAY on Alito.

Who cares if Romney was in France? France is a fascinating place with a rich history. He was doing something he believed in. So what?

I think a more relevant question would be:

Where was Romney when McCain was working on Amnesty with that walking vodka sponge from Massachusetts?

Al Qaeda can’t destroy America. They can only launch terrorist attacks that we will always overcome.

Oh. That is tremendously reassuring. I hope that, after you help get Hillary or Obama elected, and they treat the next terrorist attack as a "public safety" issue, the "public safety" issue happens to your town, not mine. Not wishing you harm, but since you have confidence that we can overcome an attack, it would be better that way.

For my part, I will vote for the candidate that intends to fight Al Qaeda tooth and nail.

What Conservative Crackup?...

There are no guarantees of political reconciliation. The disaffected base could form the genesis of a new third party movement, waiting until perhaps the 2012 election, or 2016 in the case of eight more years of Republican Party rule, to stage a coup.....

My 83% friend is not my 100% enemy..

Your 83% friend is about low-to-mid-50's in the last several years, flirted with becoming a democrat twice in the last several years, votes against domestic oil exploration, wants to grant amnesty to millions of lawbreakers, voted against tax cuts in the last several years (the only 'R' to do so both times, I think) using dem "for the rich" rhetoric, wants to increase regulation in the name of human-caused global warming, yadda yadda.

There's nothing in there that wouldn't also be on the voting record of any of the "D" candidates - except for the defecting to the other side, part. None of the dems would actually consider switching to the reps, I'm pretty sure; they wouldn't feel at home.

How odd that the republicans are about to nominate someone who would feel comfortable (based upon even considering switching) on the other side.

I generally don’t put any stock in what these buffoons say in the debates.

What have they DONE? Who gives a crap what they SAY?

What has McCain done for right wingers to want him to be president? Serving in the military isn’t enough. Every male in my family has served in the military and believe me, I don’t think any of them would have gotten my vote for President.

I won’t vote Dem but I also won’t vote for a Dem masquerading as a conservative. I’ll write somebody in if I have to or vote Libertarian.

Markos Freaking Moulitsas was in the Army for chrissakes. ;)

How about voting to Confirm Robert and Alito?

How about an 83% lifetime ACU rating?

My 83% friend is not my 100% enemy..

Not to mention while he was "tied up in Vietnam", Mitt was in France.
