RWLA,

And what names did I call you? Or did I call them to your beloved Fuhrer? Your response is VERY typical of a Paul supporter confronted with the truth. Like I said, everyone else laughing at him on camera is a fact. And the laughing is because what he spews isn't based on EMPIRICAL fact, it's based on gut-level anger and fear. (Gee, sounds like a liberal.)

Frankly, you're getting far more torqued off about this than I feel. Maybe you should examine why you're getting so danged worked up.

Go ahead and rant at me some more. I'm not going to respond further since I'm obviously not going to change your mind. Your own reactions here, truly confirm for me that you've drank your own leader's version of the kool-aid.

Bye. I'm done talking to you. It's pointless.

McCain is far more insane than Ron Paul. Look at the way he dodders around, cackling at his own jokes and spewing his temper all over the stage while spouting wacky positions like “Make it a hundred!”

The man is a menace. We’re better off with Hillary because at least the country would resist her on principle. McCain is more dangerous.

I'm not defending Lyin' POW. Simply saying my north star is "Anybody but Hillary". I agree Lyin' POW's a menace in certain respects, at least. As I said before, I'm no fan.
I do think Hitlery is far, FAR more dangerous. I'm not a full fan of Romney's, either. At this point, I'm forced between choosing the lesser of several evils. Once again. Don't most presidential elections in the US seem to comet to that, unfortunately?

These are just my opinions. I'm entitled to them, just like I'm entitled to my a***ole! Obviously, we disagree.

ok, full disclosure here, I am married to an AFA grad.

But I just want to remind you that McCain's daddy was an admiral. Just saying. Nepotism exsists everywhere. That said, I respect his service. Fully. But I'll have a hard time voting for him...

Not to support McCain as a candidate, but barring some shenanigans in the admissions process, graduating in the bottom 1% of an Academy class doesn’t make you stupid. It makes you the worst of the best of the best, and it’s something that a lot of Americans can’t say they’ve been able to do.

James on January 31, 2008 at 7:51 AM

Exactly.

I scored in the upper 7% in the analytical part of the GRE, and Annaplois didn't even acknowledge my application.

let’s “punish” the markets when we don’t like the results.--Jaibones on January 31, 2008 at 9:17 AM

My contention is with legislation that interferes with the free market system; specifically, GOP legislation that promoted banks ot foot the bill of mortgages to those without financial obligation in down payment and monthly payment, enabling speculators to buy without payment, and legislating AGAIN to force tax payers to finance the speculators' losses. To hell with that!

Give America fiscal conservatives.

Charger73 makes a very valid differentiation in legality.

I contend with this, however:
But you may want to really look at who’s fault it is to begin with, and that blame should be placed squarely on the company’s back for giving the ceo’s so much compensation.

If finger pointing is occuring, blame is owned by boards and board members and biggest investors and CEO's who did & do the voting and enabling of disproportionate financial compensation to highest level management whose job it is to pencil push deletion of the powerless workers with such high costs to the overall system that eventually the economic effectivity is too much inflation, boom and bust, all in favor of the corruptors, those who voted to plunder the stability of responsibility for opportunist piracy. The real boner is today's feel good liberal RINO solution to placate the pirates' bust with "compassion" that only further inflates the cancerous eventual total ruin.

Referencing those who enabled the speculators to sell inflated home values to buyers who purchased beyond their means to pay is a valid point that McCain made. The former majority GOP created the bloat and compassionate rape of the American economy. Democrats couldn't have done it without the RINO spearhead and vote. Moral of this lesson is: VOTE CONSERVATIVE negation of RINO pie in the sky.

On a different note, the private purse financing Romney or McCain distinguishes McCain's wife's family fortune alongside the origination of Papa Joe Kennedy's ALCOHOL sales, distribution and transportation. As though the Kennedy/McCain nuptuals aren't public enough, the Arnold is due to chime in today.

If it's charity he needs, then perhaps Romney can get the AA and Salvation Army endorsement, "doing the most good".

Man, the comments on this board pretty much illustrate everything that is wrong with the Republican party. When you morons get more worked up about a poor migrant worker from Mexico than a goddamn CEO who has stolen millions, there is something seriously deranged. But, wait, this makes me a liberal for thinking this! I forgot, in order to be a conservative you must be a Gordon Gekko wannabe: GREED IS GOOD. Yea, I’m sure Burke would be proud, you morons.

WiilBarrett, If you really look at it, yes some ceo's have come across their millions wrongfully. But you you may want to really look at who's fault it is to begin with, and that blame should be placed squarely on the company's back for giving the ceo's so much compensation. Can't really say it's illegal compared to jesus martinez down the street who has entered into this country illegally by crossing the border without authorization, stealing someone's ssn and identity to work, driving without a license and insurance and getting goods and services that our own legal residents can't get. That is the difference. So calling us morons is pretty hypocritical.

Another one? Shameful behavior by you people. And we wonder why the political discourse in this country dives below the lowest depths imaginable? Most people blame the "party bosses", but I don't. I blame them AND the yahoos who listen to them, reciting their talking points like drinking Kool Aid.

Never said you loved them, but they sure don't seem to bother a certain type in the modern Republican party very much. However, Pedro Sanchez down the street: THROW THAT M-FER IN JAIL AND SHIP HIM BACK TO MEXICO PRONTO.

You Paulnuts may support him

Shirotayama,

Your name calling is reprehensible, and completely uncalled for. Disagree with somebody? Of course the sane person's first reaction is to call names, right? It's not. I'd say you're still "cultable" if you're willing to call someone names based on ideas and the fact that you disagree with them. I could go on and on about Romney's past and call him names, but sanity keeps me from doing so.

WillBarrett:

And just whom are the people you allege Mitt stole these millions from?

Won't see a response for 2 or 3 hours, need to run across town to a meeting. But I'm looking forward to reading your clarification.

Yea, I'm sure Burke would be proud, you morons.

The only place I though Mitt could have responded better was when asked why he was qualified to lead the military without military experience.
There is a simple answer and he should said it.
He is qualified because that is the way our founding fathers set up our nation. They did not make military experience a prerequisite. We have a civilian run government. Not a military dictatorship. Presidents don't go around wearing Army Camo or uniforms with chests full of medals in the Oval Office. Then he could have gone on and spoken highly of the military and talked about how he would listen to the generals and support them and made sure they received all they needed in the event of conflicts,, but he would never be the kind of person to pick bombing sites in the Oval Office.

RWLA,

You misunderstood me. I was focused on the money aspect. Other candidates with longer stature as candidates have run out of money before him, securing primary vote percentages far higher than his typical 3% to 4%.

So...Yes. What you say is all true. He deserves the chance to be a ranting insane maniac whose positions aren't based on empirically verifiable economic and financial facts, and he fullfills the execution of his right to be heard in that manner quite admirably.

Sure, he of the shaking hands and quavering-voiced hyperventilation deserves to be heard because he's a declared candidate. He's still a total wacko. And the reaction of other candidates and the audience laughing their a**es off at him ought to be a tip-off about him needing to get back on his meds...or on them if he wasn't already.

You Paulnuts may support him. But the way he comports himself doesn't make himself...or the rest of you supporting him...look any more credible. In fact, the fervor you Paulnuts exhibit reminds me of a personality cult. Maybe we should nickname him the Reverend Sun Myun Paul.

You think I'm being offensive? Well, yeah, I am. BUT...it's borne of experience. I myself was once in a cult, in my youth. Thank God I saw it for what it was, quit the cult, and recovered. The dynamic I see with the fervor for Ron Paul his supporters hold for him...reminds me of prior personal experience, and troubles me deeply.

All just IN MY not-so-humble opinion. Which I actually MYSELF have a right to, since this IS a DEMOCRACY, as you so kindly pointed out.

Of course McCain is clueless–you don’t grow brains as you get older and he graduated in the bottom 1% at the Naval Academy. I was hoping that Romney would look at him tonight and ask, “Are you really that stupid?”

Not to support McCain as a candidate, but barring some shenanigans in the admissions process, graduating in the bottom 1% of an Academy class doesn't make you stupid. It makes you the worst of the best of the best, and it's something that a lot of Americans can't say they've been able to do.
