Audio: Mitt Romney laughs at Ron Paul, interviewer morphs into full-blown Paulnut

It starts off reasonably enough, but Romney starts to school host Tampa Bay 1040 WWBA host Mark Larsen and by extension Ron Paul on taxes and entitlements and you can feel the rails start to give way. When Romney has the audacity of hope to laugh at Paul for suggesting that the way to keep the nation secure is to jettison our intelligence agencies and blame ourselves when jihadists attack, well, the rails fly apart. Romney senses the madness and leaves the host to his rant. Turns out there was a Ronulan underneath the whole time.

Now, lest anyone think that I’m advocating the current system, income tax and all, I’m not. I’m not a fan. But I don’t think Paul has the answers, and he comes off as a crotchety old man who is in over his head on every issue. He doesn’t even know who wrote his newsletter, or so he claims, so why should anyone believe him when he says what he says about taxes? Or foreign policy or anything else. If you’re not a racist yourself but you can’t manage to keep your personal newsletter from devolving into a racist cesspool, you can’t or won’t disavow the various miscreants who are publicly supporting you and you’re happy to accept donations on a day that your supporters chose to explicitly celebrate a long-dead terrorist, you ought not be handed the keys to the executive branch of the US government. Ever. Sorry. No number of discrete ideas that sound good on paper but would never survive Congress can overcome all that.

That his supporters can’t engage non-supporters without yelling and carrying on just seals the deal as far as I’m concerned.

Actually I did admire Romney at first due to his private equity experience and his energy independence plans.

Until I found out Romney is a liar and complete fraud.

But like I said I did admire him for the private equity experience…the next thing I’m planning on doing after this election is forming a series of private equity funds.

Unless of course we nominate Romney and the dems slaughter him and get to carry out their horrible carried interest tax plan. Then I’ll have to do something else.

I will concede that Huckabee didn’t handle that press conference as gracefully as he could have, but he followed it up by not running a negative ad campaign just like he promised. Either the universe was designed, or it came about by random chance. These are the only options. If you want to believe life started with a big bang where nothing exploded and produced everything, and that a cosmic soup of some kind came alive and out of it the first life form found someone to marry, and something to eat, and slowly evolved into everything we see today, you go right ahead, but I don’t think great great great great great great grandpa was a monkey. No animal has ever been observed changing into any fundamentally different kind of animal. No one has ever observed life spontaneously arising from nonliving matter. Matter cannot make itself out of nothing. Evolutionism is a religious worldview that is not supported by science, Scripture, popular opinion, or common sense.

So, now say for the sake of argument say God does exist (remember, I believe He does) but, say He exists and He has been the One who guided the founding fathers and the One who turned America into the most powerful and prosperous nation on earth today, and He has blessed America for it’s protection of Israel (Genesis 12:3). Say that’s true and the Bible’s true.

Do you think He is going to bless a nation who mocks Him? What is done to Him by the Mormon doctrine goes well beyond a different interpretation. It’s sickening. It angers me greatly. The entire character of God is changed by the LDS Church (they say He is just one of many gods), along with the denial of the virgin birth (Jesus, they say has a flesh brother Satan, who was literally begotten when god-as-man had intercourse with Mary!), they change the divinity of Christ (not all sins are forgiven by Him), and a twisted idea of salvation through works (perfect adherence can bring godhood to man).

You want to know why a Mormon President worries me? Several reasons, but one is I’m very worried for America. I’m very very concerned. God’s will bless a nation that mocks Him.

On May 21, 2005 Gov. Romney’s “Governor’s Commission for Gay and Lesbian Youth”, (which gets hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars) organized schoolchildren from their school-based “Gay-Straight Alliance” clubs to participate in a “Youth Pride Day” parade through downtown Boston.

An entire day of celebrating homosexuality for kids. Paid for by you. They held a “rally” at the Boston Common and marched through the downtown streets, past the State House

I have no horse in this race, but I can’t agree with you there. That sounds like a soundbite from Ron Burgundy. But as far as I’m concerned abortion is an issue to be decided by voters of each individual state. If the voters of Oregon, for instance, believe women should be allowed to terminate a pregnancy within the first trimester I will not oppose that.

We can both agree that Mike Huckabee is not a conservative, no matter his beliefs on right to life.

BOSTON –Gov. Mitt Romney issued an executive order Friday abolishing the state’s 14-year-old governor’s commission on gay and lesbian youth after lawmakers overrode his veto of a bill creating a new commission out of the reach of the governor’s office…

The Gov.’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth was first created by former Republican Gov. William Weld through an executive order. That allowed Romney to dismantle it, also by executive order.

Rush lied to his audience and has been secretly supporting Romney. I find it funny when people go on about talk radio as if those of us who listen can’t make up our own minds. I’m tired of Rush’s requests for deeper analysis of Huckabee, when he has NOT done the same with other candidates. Who is he anyways? Do you think He is going to bless a nation who mocks Him? What is done to Him by the Mormon doctrine goes well beyond a different interpretation. It’s sickening. It angers me greatly. The entire character of God is changed by the LDS Church (they say He is just one of many gods), along with the denial of the virgin birth (Jesus, they say has a flesh brother Satan, who was literally begotten when god-as-man had intercourse with Mary!), they change the divinity of Christ (not all sins are forgiven by Him), and a twisted idea of salvation through works (perfect adherence can bring godhood to man).

Good grief apacalyps…there’s enough information out on line and plenty of Mormons willing to tell you exactly what they believe (look for the two nice young men in white shirts and ties or the two nice young women in dresses) that this kind of drivel would be made quaintly obsolete.

Hasn’t “what Mormons REEEEAALLLLYYYY believe” been hashed to death on this site? Quit gnawing on that bone. There’s no meat on it.

As a Paul supporter who was disappointed to see Fred go, and was potentially softening up to Romney, I have defended him against anti Mormon bigots, who I see as envious of Mormon self control, Mitt has effectively sealed the deal that I won’t be voting for the Republican nominee. I was a tough sell from the start because I am one of the few conservatives who realize that we’ve been getting screwed since 1994. Good luck 25%ers, the very exclusive big GOVERNMENT republican tent is getting smaller and smaller. I cannot wait until the Republican Party goes the way of the whigs. As a true fiscal conservative I have had enough of this BS. He showed in the interview he has no intentions to cut spending, talk about eliminating income taxes on seniors and he flees.

I guess in hindsight it was not surprising that Mitt finds it is laughable that our many foreign interventions and establishment of countless foreign bases for the past fifty years could stir up enough antiamericanism to come back as terrorism. I guess he wasn’t a conservative during the 90s, because we talked about stirring up unnecessary hornets’ nests by policing the world. The Republicans forget their past, so their future is done. Maybe Libertarians, Paleocons, and Conservatives can all get a collective spine and let this party die because the flip flops, the mindless followers, the people who support liberals though profess to be conservative, have finally grown to be too much to bear. Whether one disagrees with Ron or not his record in congress is exceptional, to dismiss him as laughable is ridiculous, although maybe it was laughable of me to think that the Republicans could ever go back to fiscal responsibility. Have fun in November, maybe you guys can get 25% if you try hard.

To those loyalists that are against Romney, hold your tongue, the talk radio establishment has been warming up to him since Fred left and you will find yourselves suddenly coming around to Mitt without even realizing it.

And just one thing for the Preemptive war crowd. Even without dismantling the empire a fiscal conservative should not be against cutting defense, a good percentage of it equates to overpaid welfare jobs, and we should definitely strive to make it more efficient. I don’t know if anybody remembers one of Secretary of Defense Gates’ first statements on China, but he stated that comparing our money spent on defense to theirs is foolish, because they have much less overhead and unnecessary costs. Also making DoD more efficient is not a bad thing, actually it was one of the things I admired about Rumsfeld because he attempted to make some processes more efficient and flexible, unfortunately overall he did the opposite.

Joseph Smith who twisted and changed the truth concerning Christ. The apostle Paul warned in his letter to the Galatians about those who advocate teaching a different gospel:

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8-9

Galatians 1:8-9 stresses that the so-called gospel that was misleading the Galatians was not really one with just minor variations from the true gospel, but was altogether opposite to it, a false gospel.
