Comparing Lil Johnny Mack with the Clintons or Kennedy is a very credible comparison. He will do and lie about anything to be elected. He has been in the same corners with these people for years. The amnesty bill he supported with Kennedy was a sellout to the American people and his no vote for the tax cuts says it all. He is a George Soros lap dog.

What if McCain selected Huckabee as a VP? Those two had there lips surgically attached to each other’s butts. McCain is mean, nasty and is no straight talker. He has changed his position on taxes and immigration, the 2 most important issues in my book.

A phrase like wearing one's conservatism on one's sleeve is very specific and I find it unlikely that John Fund's two sources imagined this. Note this statement by McCain about Alito. Senator John McCain (R-AZ): “[Judge Alito] Has A Very Good Temperament. … He’s Very Smart, And Has Impressed A Lot Of People. The President Said He Was Going To Appoint Somebody Who Is Conservative, And That’s The Way He Campaigned, And That’s What We Have Here. I Think He’s Very Highly Regarded.” (MSNBC’s “Imus In The Morning,” 10/31/05) It's kind of passive support. It's not the same thing as this guy is really terrific and I can't wait to vote for him.

A. There is no guarantee that he will have a more conservative VP, and really, when has the last VP that swayed anything?
B. McCain will be shredded in multiple debates, look older than he does now, and does not have talk radio support.
C. Obama is going to sap a lot of that moderate, non-party vote, not John McCain, and he will do poorly with conservatives.

OK, I have a lot of problems w/ McCain, too. But he just might be the only alternative to Hill or O, & he’s not nearly as bad as they would be.
No doubt he’d get a more conservative running mate to balance the ticket, so we’d have a good candidate in four years when J-Mac retires.

The "straight talk" BS was just that. The ONLY thing authentic about McCain is his heroic service 40 years ago, his love of being a media darling, and his willingness to stab his party, his president, and conservatives in the back. If GOP voters reward this #@8! with the nomination, it will be fun to see the media, and his buddies on the other side turn on him.

Mitt Romney is not a Flip Flopper. He has no positions where he had position A, changed to position B, and then changed back to position A. He has changed his mind on several issues, but who hasn’t as they get more experienced.

It seems to me that now that Fred! is gone (& I was a Fredhead), HA’s candidate du jour is Mitt, & the guy w/ a target on his back is J-Mac.
The problem w/ Mitt is that the 20-30% of the electorate that calls itself centrist is looking, not for hard-core conservatism or liberalism, but authenticity. It would be easy for the Dem nominee to paint Mitt as a flip-flopper because, well, he is.
