I'm a life long republican and I'm not anti-Iraq but I can't stand looking and listening to this man any longer. His position (as well as others) on illegal immigration is ruining our nation. The Democrats, McCain, and Huckabee will be more of the same. What has happened to the conservative Republican Party. God help America.

Romney doesn’t hate his country. Romney doesn’t want a socialist US. Romney is tall and thin like Lurch, and rather patrician, like Lurch, but there the similarities end. And of course, Lurch nearly won.

You're right, of course. Romney doesn't hate this entire country. He only hates gun dealers and those who own "unusually lethal weapons" like AK 47s. [barf]

Bush was a good campaigner. I think Republicans forget that in understandable frustations with the admin, esp. since shamnesty.
But I don't think any of our lot is as good a campaigner as Bush was.

<strike>Lame duck edition</strike> Lame attempt at humor while discounting a really great speech than many other Presidents pass on.

That's ok, when you all put your precious Mitt up against Clinton/Obama we'll have something more to gripe about than misplaced humor. I think a Hannity caller hit the nail on the head the other day: "Romney is the Republican John Kerry for 2008." I sure hope Rudy doesn't drop out if he loses Florida. He's the only guy that hasn't waffled and that has the ability to beat Obama, let alone Clinton.

Ugly on January 28, 2008 at 11:05 PM

I've had the same thought...would the Clintons get to a point where they would knock off Obama if it was necessary to ensure that (the formerly "inevitable") Hillary returns to power? I wouldn't put it past them.

For all of the Democrat attacks on President Bush's claim to be a "uniter not divider", it's amazing (and entertaining) to see how much a divider the Clintons have become not just between Democrats and Republicans, but within the Democrat party itself!

You have to look at this pic at BreitBart of Obama and Teddy and Hillary. Teddy is whispering at Obama as he is watching Hillary.

Rival Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama came within a foot of each other just before President Bush's State of the Union speech Monday night and managed not to acknowledge each other, and certainly not touch.

Clinton, clad in scarlet, crossed the aisle between their seats on the House floor and reached out a hand to greet Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the Democratic icon whose endorsement she had courted only to lose it to Obama.

Kennedy shook her hand while Obama, wearing a dark suit and standing between the two, turned away.

The rivals then retreated to their seats, only the aisle and four senators between them.

It was the latest chapter in the increasingly nasty fight between the two leading candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination and capped a dramatic day.

Hours earlier, Obama received the endorsements of Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy, the brother and daughter, respectively, of President John F. Kennedy. They were joined by Rep. Patrick Kennedy, D-R.I., the senator's son.

On his way out of the chamber, Bush shook hands with Obama. The president and Clinton did not shake hands.
