Awesomely awesome: NOW NYS calls Teddy’s endorsement of Obama “the ultimate betrayal”; Update: “Psychological gang bang”?

So packed with identity politics irony I’m almost misty over it. After weeks of hand-wringing by the commentariat over the race card, here comes the gender card taped to the end of a two-by-four and delivered upside Teddy’s head. The only thing missing is the magic phrase “Mary Jo,” and reading it you wonder if they didn’t consider tossing that in there too. Stay strong, sisters.
Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal. Senator Kennedy’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton’s opponent in the Democratic presidential primary campaign has really hit women hard. Women have forgiven Kennedy, stuck up for him, stood by him, hushed the fact that he was late in his support of Title IX, the ERA, the Family Leave and Medical Act to name a few…
And now the greatest betrayal! We are repaid with his abandonment! He’s picked the new guy over us. He’s joined the list of progressive white men who can’t or won’t handle the prospect of a woman president who is Hillary Clinton (they will of course say they support a woman president, just not “this” one)…
This latest move by Kennedy, is so telling about the status of and respect for women’s rights, women’s voices, women’s equality, women’s authority and our ability – indeed, our obligation - to promote and earn and deserve and elect, unabashedly, a President that is the first woman after centuries of men who “know what’s best for us.”
Exit question one: On a scale of one to ten, just how ironic is it that the guy who’s campaigning against dynastic politics is being championed by a Kennedy? Exit question two: Why does Teddy hate women?
Update: Dude.
In short, gang raping of women is commonplace in our culture both physically and metaphorically.
This past week, we witnessed just such a phenomenon involving men who are afraid of a powerful woman. Hillary Clinton, in her quest for her Presidential nomination, has in fact endured infantile taunting and wildly inappropriate commentary. Indeed we have witnessed almost comical attacks by John Edwards who in turn sided with Barak Obama as both snickered at Clinton’s “breakdown,” which consisted of a very short dewy-eyed moment. Now John Kerry, who should certainly know better after his own “swiftboating,” has joined the playground gang…
Think about the legacy we’ll leave behind when we support Hillary Clinton for President of the United States. Let’s put a stop to the psychological “gang banging” of women and girls. Let’s stand up and be counted by way of the hard-won votes we can now cast!

Ooooohhh!! Ooohh!! I just thought of another exit question: Can Hillary innoculate herself against charges of racism by taking a black woman (or even a black man–besides Barry) as veep candidate? and who would it be?

You’d hate women too if the only way you could score with one was to get them drunk and trap them in your family vaction house.
Regarding SOW’s commentary on the subject, I think I understand where they’re comming from now:
Actual gang rapes of nameless, faceless women around the world perpetrated by Islamic “law” is not for them to judge or even comment on. Not their concern.
“Metaphorical gang rape”, or, to be more precise, CRITICISM of their sacred cow is to be confronted with an indignation, outrage, and frenzy that rational human beings would reserve for…well, an ACTUAL GANG RAPE.

Lord help me. It is this type of ridiculousness that causes me to want to ride a horse backwards, out into the wilderness, after having had pieces of my clothing ripped from my body by my fellow townspeople and having them each, induhvidually spit in my face! Oh. Right. I’ll just meet with the PETA folks out there. Dang!
Fembots like this just make it embarrassing for me use words such as “gender” - and to claim my right to mine.
*sigh*

I went and looked briefly at the DailyKKKos, and wow, they are panicking over this.
First was the denial: this couldn’t have been said.
Now that it’s been proven, they are all in a snit–it’s hilarious. People moaning about how this is playing right into Rush’s hands, etc…..
good times.

Ah yes, the sweet sound of Liberals debating the issues…
But the truth of the matter is that all of you are being FOOLED! You just don’t see the danger we are all in! BusHitler and HalliCheney are about to take over! Another evil plot by Darth Rove is about to unfold!
The Republicons know that Hillary will do anything for power. Obama is really an unknowing GOP stooge. What best to challenge Hillary than a black guy! Ok, so being Republicons they only got half a black guy, but I digress. So Rove tricks the 3 remaining Kennedys with political clout to back Obama because he is a ‘man’. Hillary backer’s scream “You hate women…you white evil b*****ds!” Immediately their heads start rotating clockwise while spewing green pea soup.
Shortly before Super Tuesday, Obama is giving a speech about ‘change’ when he is gunned down by a crazed Code Pinker (is there really any other type?). This immediately leads to a race war across the country that plunges America into anarchy. At that point BusHitler can enact the new Executive Order to impose Martial Law and then become Dictator for Life!
There is only one way to stop this madness…
Vote Ron Paul!
This message brought to you by the Truther Movement, where the only ‘change’ is ‘Loose Change’.
SwampRat on January 28, 2008 at 5:24 PM
Ignoring the Billary race-baiting, Marcia Pappas is demanding preferential treatment for the cry-baby based on imagined slights. Which… pretty much sums up feminism in America in the 21st century. Implicit in that statement is the sexist claim that gender, which the feminists dogmatically squeal doesn’t matter, should matter… if it’s a woman that gains the advantage.
And Yes, those would be the carefully staged ‘tears’ twice delivered to the MainStreamMedia for wide distribution that Marcial Pappas is crying about. Is Marcia Pappas angry because it worked?
A vote for Hillary is a vote to grant access, support and power to the lunatic fringe, like Marcia Pappas.

So, wait, I’m confused: do femnazis want equality in all matters, or only in matters where it suits them? They say a woman’s “right to choose” is a sign of gender equality. Yet, the last time I checked, men had no say in the decision to kill the baby inside the woman’s body. As I recall, it takes two to tango.
Is that equality? Anybody? What about the baby’s “right to choose?” Just askin’.

I always thought his “ultimate betrayal” of women was leaving one to drown in his car.
If letting a woman die, while you call your family lawyer instead of 911 (or the equivalent), isn’t an ultimate betrayal, what is?

But the irony - oh the irony! Teddy the misogynist pig, woman-killer (literally) being thought of as one for women’s rights! I’ll never forget (unfortunately) for that pic of his fat ass on top of some chick in a boot - giving the thumbs-up to the helicopter! Ugh.
Of course, these feminist morons worship a rapist - Bill Clinton!
Go figure the hypocrisy - I can’t get my mind around it all…

It sounds like that statement was drafted in the back room of La Brasserie.
Karl on January 28, 2008 at 6:29 PM
Whoever wrote that sentence officially loses any right to call President Bush stupid.
Also, if women HAVE to support HRC, then doesn’t it stand to reason that men have to support male candidates? But enough of logical fallacies. (Or in this case maybe “phallusies?”)
The best part of being Jewish is that because of our control of the media and the government, we don’t have to vote for Lieberman. Thank you neocons!!
Levy on January 28, 2008 at 6:33 PM
And there you have it. Support the woman - simply because she IS a woman. Don’t worry about qualifications, or ethics, or even the fact that if the Bitch actually wins the general election, she’s not gonna be running things; Billy Jeff is.
I loathe and detest all things “Ted Kennedy” - double that for Bill and Hillary - but the above quote completely and totally demeans women. There is no “obligation” to elect a woman president - only a qualified president. If NOW actually believes that they’re “entitled” to a Hillary presidency, then I guess that’s what they deserve.
uncivilized on January 28, 2008 at 6:36 PM

Pablo on January 28, 2008 at 6:47 PM
This is so entertaining.
Someone at DU is demanding that Marcia Pappas resign for her “disgusting comments”.
And in case any of you are wondering what Marcia Pappas looks like, she’s the one on the Left. Why would men be afraid of powerful women like them?
By the way the word for fear of women is gynephobia.

This hyperbole reminds me of when I was in college and feminists were posting pictures of random male students under the headline “POTENTIAL RAPIST”. Do they really think this helps their cause?
mikeyboss on January 28, 2008 at 7:06 PM
I truely fear that we may face a “POTENTIAL RACIST” caption for republicans if Obama is the nominee. The democrats have led us into this quagmire and is no way out
William Amos on January 28, 2008 at 7:12 PM
I had no idead he was still alive. If Obama was really like JFK I dare him to say “Ask not what your COUNTRY can do for you; ask what you can do for your COUNTRY” I double dare him. No way that could EVER play, not in this day and age not after the 60’s.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!
This from a group who stood by silently while this woman’s husband raped, abused, assaulted, and harrassed virtually every other woman who crossed his path over the past 30 years. HA! If they were really true to their core principles, they would have joined the impeachment train and then publically ridiculed Hillary for the lifelong enabler that she really is. If they want a woman to be President, then maybe they should find one with integrity and self-respect; AND MAYBE they should find a woman who doesn’t spend her time destroying the women who just happen to be her own husband’s victims.

Radical feminists specialize in outrage and hyperbole, so this is probably not as big a deal as it seems.
Sure is fun to watch and remember how outraged they were about Clarence Thomas who was only accused of sexual harassment, while showing every sign of battered wife syndrome when Clinton was accused.
I don’t just mean that they wouldn’t speak against Clinton. I mean they viciously attacked the actual victims while defending Clinton at every turn.
Kinda like a battered woman attacking the policeman who tries to break it up and protect her…

This is a perfect storm for the Democrats. The Dems are basically a collection of special interest groups who banned together. The coalition stayed together so long as the groups interests didn’t conflict. The national coalition stayed together because the candidates weren’t members of any of the groups. Now, the candidates are members of the coalitions two most powerful groups and the true divisions are being exposed. It’s the start of a civil war. All of the national figures are now going to be forced to pick sides.

The Democrats trying to plan an arrangement where either the black or woman candidate goes first while the other is guaranteed the nod the next time around. Problem is, with the unions, gays, and Latinos also claiming slots now, they can’t agree on the batting order. The are currently trying to break the impasse with a new candidate by searching the Democratic rolls for a black-lesbian-latino-government-employee. Once they find one, to avoid the same problem in the future, they will clone her.
At the same time, the Republicans are also trying to solve their problem by searching for a candidate who is an evangelical-Mormon-atheist who only goes to church when he visits his mother.

So…just to understand…
The NAGS (supposedly a women’s rights organization) are all upset that a slimy politician well-known for philandering and letting a woman drown, has endorsed a political opponent of a woman running for President.
So much for women being able to do it by themselves.
Also, they are upset that he didn’t endorse the woman who stayed married to another well known philanderer…
…who was accused of raping another woman…
…who was sexually harassing the help by their own previous definition…
…and then posted stuff about gang-raping or gang-banging.
