Awesomely awesome: NOW NYS calls Teddy’s endorsement of Obama “the ultimate betrayal”; Update: “Psychological gang bang”?

So packed with identity politics irony I’m almost misty over it. After weeks of hand-wringing by the commentariat over the race card, here comes the gender card taped to the end of a two-by-four and delivered upside Teddy’s head. The only thing missing is the magic phrase “Mary Jo,” and reading it you wonder if they didn’t consider tossing that in there too. Stay strong, sisters.
Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal. Senator Kennedy’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton’s opponent in the Democratic presidential primary campaign has really hit women hard. Women have forgiven Kennedy, stuck up for him, stood by him, hushed the fact that he was late in his support of Title IX, the ERA, the Family Leave and Medical Act to name a few…
And now the greatest betrayal! We are repaid with his abandonment! He’s picked the new guy over us. He’s joined the list of progressive white men who can’t or won’t handle the prospect of a woman president who is Hillary Clinton (they will of course say they support a woman president, just not “this” one)…
This latest move by Kennedy, is so telling about the status of and respect for women’s rights, women’s voices, women’s equality, women’s authority and our ability – indeed, our obligation - to promote and earn and deserve and elect, unabashedly, a President that is the first woman after centuries of men who “know what’s best for us.”
Exit question one: On a scale of one to ten, just how ironic is it that the guy who’s campaigning against dynastic politics is being championed by a Kennedy? Exit question two: Why does Teddy hate women?
Update: Dude.
In short, gang raping of women is commonplace in our culture both physically and metaphorically.
This past week, we witnessed just such a phenomenon involving men who are afraid of a powerful woman. Hillary Clinton, in her quest for her Presidential nomination, has in fact endured infantile taunting and wildly inappropriate commentary. Indeed we have witnessed almost comical attacks by John Edwards who in turn sided with Barak Obama as both snickered at Clinton’s “breakdown,” which consisted of a very short dewy-eyed moment. Now John Kerry, who should certainly know better after his own “swiftboating,” has joined the playground gang…
Think about the legacy we’ll leave behind when we support Hillary Clinton for President of the United States. Let’s put a stop to the psychological “gang banging” of women and girls. Let’s stand up and be counted by way of the hard-won votes we can now cast!

How does one exactly be the agent of change by getting the endorsement of an establishment dinosaur like (hic) Teddy boy, the Harpo of the Kennedy brothers.

This is stunning. The Dems are crumbling before our eyes. That’s what happens when you play to all the “issues” voters.
Hillary WILL pull out the nomination. The question is how much damage will have been done to the party.

i don’t think it’s merely ironic justice. ted kennedy manifestly hates womenand is cynical enough to brush them off by voting “correctly”.
the cllinton’s are manifestly racist, as are a huge part of their base and essential facets of progressive ideology.

You know, eventually it gets to the point where it isn’t funny anymore.
These are the people who will vote for who should be the most powerful person in the world.
That these mental lightweights who see everything through the lens of their own genitalia should be allowed to alter the course of history is truly frightening.
Seriously, I know its an old and chauvanistic joke, but did we make a mistake with women’s suffrage? This is ridiculous.

What’s most pathetic is come the general election, they will be one big happy family, still lacking their integrity, and will back the nominee no matter who it is. And, guess what else, the MSM will have total amnesia regarding this infighting and will report only how the Republican nominees sniped at each other.

Glorious. This may be the first explicit victimhood card played this campaign season, which will no doubt be perpetuated and countered by similar victimhood cards by people associated with the campaigns, with or without their consent.
Let the recriminations begin!
Vizzini on January 28, 2008 at 4:25 PM
Dang, they’re really starting to eat their own young.
Our problem is that we don’t have a truly and consistently conservative guy in the race across the social/religious, economic, foreign policy, and immigration policy spectrums. Our decisions now, unless you were McCainiac or Romnoid from the beginning, is picking the lesser of two evils.
THEIR problem is that their factions are now in open attack mode, setting upon the other. Either you’re a misogynist or a racist. No middle ground. Deep, vicious, internecine polticial warfare over having to choose between a black guy and a white woman, when both of them and their supporters are at each others’ throats, is the liberal democratic version of doomsday.
If I had to compare, ours is still the more dispassionate choice to have to make.
Wow. What a political season. Apart from the fact that none of them really fit my druthers for POTUS all, which normally would make it hard to care, the sheer knock-down drag-out-ish viciousness of this election season is about as exciting as it gets.

Teddy, like many other Irish-American NE Democrats worked hard for abortion on demand, free college and “stuff” for women that would divorce their husbands and move into public housing, the total denial of father’s rights and lots of food stamps for the kids and mom’s live-in boyfriends. .
This is a guy who’s father lobotomized his sister since she was playing fast and loose with the local boys. His famous brother managed to cheat openly on one of the more beautiful women of the early 60’s and Lord Kennedy would rather allow the local women to drown than get his hair wet.
This article is so on target. Wake up you dumb Democratic damsels!!!! You’ve been duped. The irony is a 10 and Teddy thinks all women need abortions, public housing and to be kept by the State (Aka He friggin’ hates them).

It’d be interesting to compare in terms of popular vote electorate on the Dem side:
Likely # of black voters for Obama
+
Likely # white voters (mostly male?) for Obama
+
Estimated # of independent voters for Obama
vs.
Likely # white female voters for Clinton
+
Likely # of white male voters for Clinton
+
Likely % of black voters for Clinton
+
Est. # of independents for Clinton (low number??)
and compare the two numbers to get an idea - who’s got more popular votes?
I’m not a fan of McCain’s but if he stands a better chance of trouncing Billary in the general, maybe I’ll make allowances. Now that Fred’s gone, I’d prefer Mitt but reality’s reality. The ultimate goal is getting another Republican…even these RINO’s…into the house as opposed to avowed Socialists.

Um - I’m a woman and I’m not in the least bit offended or feeling betrayed by Teddy’s endorsement of Obama. I am offended by Teddy in general however. His very existence is a betrayal to the human race.
Speak for yourself, Marcia Pappas. This woman, who grew up in MA and remembers the Mary Jo Kopechne tragedy, will never forgive that pompous popinjay for leaving that young girl to die.

Let me get this straight.
NOW supported Bill Clinton after he got caught in behavior that, in its best light, can be described as objectifying women in the workplace. Then, there wasn’t a peep about lists of progressive white men putting women down. Interesting. I wonder why Caroline Kennedy’s support of Obama at the same event wasn’t mentioned.

each passionate Liberal marks their line in the sand

Now we have Ted Kennedys “Ted’s excellent endoresment”

Now we have accusations on both sides of the Liberal

No wait, Nirvana did have the album cover with the kid under water… so that’s more Kennedy-esque. My bad.
Sugar Land on January 28, 2008 at 4:49 PM
So now that “violence” has been dumbed down to saying mean things on the playground, “gang rape” is now a word that can be suitably used to describe… endorsing a political candidate.
And feminists wonder why no one takes them seriously. They wonder why the cops don’t take some women, dressed like a $1.50 whore and loitering on street corners, seriously when they claim rape. Apparently now rape constitutes using words feminists don’t like, not sexually violating a woman in pure lust and anger and leaving her wounded and broken in the streets.
Again, this is why no one takes feminists seriously, they make mountains out of molehills and diminish actual atrocities against women in the process.
BKennedy on January 28, 2008 at 4:49 PM
