Obama completes endorsement sweep of loathsome Massachusetts senators

Unlike Kerry’s, this one might actually do some good.
Democrats said the endorsement will help Obama with traditional Democratic groups where Clinton has been strong — union households, Hispanics and downscale workers.
Also, the nod by the most experienced member of the Senate adds significant standing to Obama, who is working to prove he has the experience necessary to be president.
Having him and Caroline endorse as a pair will go a long way towards sidetracking the post-Carolina “black candidate” narrative Team Hillary’s trying to jump-start, so either Obama’s the luckiest pol alive or this is a master stroke of media management by him and his campaign.
Follow the Politico link and thrill to the image of our now ex-first black president pleading with Teddy not to strip him of his “heir to JFK” title too — but don’t quit before the end, as it’s the last two paragraphs that tell the story here. This isn’t about policy preferences (mostly), it’s about “souls being touched” by that special shallow blend of youth, looks, and oratory that denotes the true Camelot bloodline. Hence the significance of Caroline’s approval, which operates less as an endorsement (intellectually, who cares what she thinks?) than a recognition of royal legitimacy. For all the abuse conservatives take for their Reagan worship, there’s at least never been any creepy element of congenital aristocracy to it of the sort cultivated by the Kennedys and their decrepit hagiographers. If Obama winning means we’re in for another round of that, replete with that curious dynamic of populist progressivism that somehow requires a monarch to administer it, please, give us Hillary.
On the other hand, it’ll make for pretty some sweet Neely Brothers vids in 40 years. Content warning.

I wonder if Teddy’s endorsement also includes a life preserver?? Obama should know that when he sinks Ted would not be jumping in to save him.

Obama has turned out to be a master campaigner.
Oprah and Kennedy. Change. Turn the Page. etc.
He may be out-Clintoning the Clintons.
I would not underestimate the guy if the GOP has to face him in November.

What’s next for Obama endorsements if he gets the nomination? Will he co-opt our conservative heroes?
Nancy Reagan?
James Bond?
Rush:)?
John Wayne’s children?
Roy Roger’s horse?
Patton’s butler?
Joe Namath, Bart Starr and Tom Brady?

So Rose and Joe Kennedy were Muslims, and Joe was a black bigamist from Kenya? Wow. Who knew?
I guess Obama is also a war hero, like JFK was. I must have missed that part of Barry’s bio.

It’s all about the “dream”, baby.
The dream.
Wonder if Hillary’s gonna’ turn on Teddy, now. That’d be sweet.

Punchline for future debate: “I knew JFK. JFK was a war hero and moderate politician. Barack, you’re no JFK”.

An edorsement from Teddy, hic, the swimmer, Kennedy…I’m sure Obama is very proud..

Mary Jo Kopechne’s mother died quietly last week in Pennsylvania. No member of the Kennedy clan attended her funeral. One suspects, albeit reluctantly, that Ted Kennedy gave a sigh of relief. The last living person touched by Ted Kennedy’s negligence, his indifference and his misconduct was gone. At long last, Ted Kennedy had managed to put the ghosts of Chapaquiddick behind him. Back in 1969, Ted Kennedy ordered the MSM never to ask him about Chapaquiddick. The MSM spinelessly obeyed. In the 1980 campaign, Roger Mudd broke with the pack and asked Kennedy some questions about his conduct. Kennedy fell apart at the seams. His campaign was doomed. Anybody not named Kennedy would have been charged with drunk driving, with negligent homicide and other related crimes. The Kennedy family, then and now, controls the justice system in Massachussetts. Teddy Kennedy, in an ironic way, reminds me of those aging Klan members in the deep south who did terrible things many many years ago but outlived everybody who was touched by the tragedy. And then one day they can finally put the events behind them. That is real story of the reckless life of Ted Kennedy.
Larraby on January 28, 2008 at 2:24 PM
I’ll repeat: Of all the Kennedy’s that died…
kcd on January 28, 2008 at 2:26 PM
Whose dream? JFK didn’t dream of being president. He didn’t even want to go into politics, and probably wouldn’t have done so, except for the untimely death of his brother Joe, Jr., who was being groomed for the presidency by his overly-ambitious father, Joe, Sr.
I hate to agree with Hillary about anything, but Barry O’s been dreaming of becoming president since he was in kindergarten. Barry O also told his white Muslim-convert mama (before she dumped him on the grandparents) that he was going to be the first black president in U.S. history. Barry O’s dream sounds to me more like Joe Kennedy Sr.’s dream — a lifelong desire to achieve the presidency for the sake of personal ambition and self-aggrandizement (not to mention the power to settle a few scores with the anti-Irish-Catholic crowd who looked down on the Kennedys and kept them out of the country club).

Compare the two scions:
Ted Kennedy, bloated red faced alcohol-destroyed female grabber living free by the grace of a pack of lawyers and a trust fund he did not earn. One female deep sixed
Bill Clinton, not bloated red faced
alcohol-destroyedfemale grabber livingfreewith a full pension by the grace of a pack of lawyers anda trust fund he did not earnHillary’s cooperation. Some females neutralized in ways that left them breathing with book contractsBoth influenced in childhood by men with less than normal scruples
I hate to say it, put them on a scale and Clinton weighs in slightly better. Clinton did leave the White House when his term was up, although they took some furniture. I am not sure Ted will realize when his term is up. Even if I give Ted points for calling Obama “Osama’ by mistake, he still makes Bill Clinton look like a class act.
Man, I hate myself for saying that but it is true
