And so we learn that there are in fact “endorsements” even Maverick won’t accept.

Nice job here by Craig Rivera in almost asking a coherent question. Almost.

Nice job here by Craig Rivera in almost asking a coherent question. Almost.

And a crummy job by McCain in answering the question.

mram on January 26, 2008 at 11:10 PM

I don’t think McCain knew if that was a good thing or a bad thing, so he didn’t quite know how to react.

HA! ‘My nemesis’. He’s trying to tie his fading star to your shooting star MM. He WISHES he was your nemesis. You give him more publicity than he ever gets with your comments about him. Look, you weren’t even talking about him, but you made a negative reference concerning McCain with his name and he brought it up. He’s losing badly (to you) if he brings this stuff up on his Tee Vee show. HA!

nice of him to give you another plug though. Maybe that would be a good marketing campaign. . . everytime you write something negative and call it a ‘Rivera’ or something like that, you get a mention on his show for free. Instead of being a ‘brownie’, it could be a ‘Rivera’.

HA. He’d love that.

ThackerAgency on January 26, 2008 at 11:36 PM

Did you see that? Whenever McCain is stumped he goes back to the same lines…..

“I will win”
“I am the most conservative”
“I have been there”

It’s like he is programed to parrot those points whenever he doesn’t know what to say. It’s an effective technique in the military where your subordinates MUST obey you. But in the world of democracy, we are encouraged to question him.

Every time I listen to him, I become more convinced that he doesn’t have the temperament for the job of POTUS.

Geraldo Rivera? A quick story that reveals his character. I managed the bar at Medieval Times from 2002-2005 and Geraldo came to a show one night, he had to have a private area, had to have this, and that, and when bill paying time came GUESS what Geraldo tipped those that busted their asses for his party? ZIP! Several hundred dollar tab, ZIP!

Right now Romeny is tossing and turning trying to remember the name on the truck that just ran over him today. The weak on iraq argument and the Crist endorsement, following the Scwarzkopf, Martinez, on and on and on. It was a decisive blow that might have pushed Romney into the John Kerry mold. I’m not usually a fan of dirty politics, but someone got takin’ out to the woodshed this afternoon.

conservnut on January 27, 2008 at 12:52 AM

While I prefer Mitt, I’d vote for Rudy. I’m hoping I dont’ have to decide what to do if McShamnesty gets in…do I stay home or vote for the demoocrap? Vote for the democrap and we may never recover from the socialist policies…plus at least 2 (maybe 3) supremes will retire so younger liberal justices can be appointed…if we have a repeat of 2006, the R congress won’t be able to override the appts. But a vote for McShamnesty will result in 20-30 mill illegals coming in to collect ss, welfare, etc (because he’ll sign that bill and there may not be enough votes in Congress to override it) whihc inevitably will cause the destruction of the healthcare system, so the GOP will forever be blamed for the greatest economic hardships the country has ever seen, no chance for the GOP to come back…ever…and a new party won’t be able to win an election for what, 50 years?

So non-trolls, what will you do if McShamnesty gets the nomination?

a) stay home
b) vote for the democrap
c) hold your nose and vote for him to protect the court

JustTruth101 on January 27, 2008 at 12:56 AM

What Romney should do Monday is to somehow with his Wall Street buddies manipulate the market into a real bad day. The retirement community in Florida could be the ones to bail him out. I don’t think he would or could do it, ecspecially after today. He looked as if someone stole his car.

THE CHOSEN ONE on January 27, 2008 at 1:06 AM

I could have held my nose, but after the crap he pulled today with Mitt’s Iraq quote was my final straw. I will stay home for Hill, but will vote Obama over McShamnesty.

Coburn is my senator, and he is a real fiscal conservative. He endorsed McCain because McCain is actually a solid fiscal conservative. I’ll never support or vote for Coburn again though, he’s obviously too shallow to understand the full impact of his endorsements on matters other than pork and spending.

And if by Geraldo Republican you mean Democrat… then yes he is. If McCain is nominated I won’t vote for him and I won’t be part of a GOP that nominates a Democrat for office.

Buzzy on January 27, 2008 at 1:19 AM

for example: abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=1880630&page=1

“Some of the very same men who helped derail Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign in 2000 using techniques the Arizona Republican alleged were illegal — and whom McCain likened to the prairie carnivores — are now leading financial supporters of his “Straight Talk America” political action committee and possible backers of his anticipated 2008 presidential run.”

El Guapo on January 27, 2008 at 1:47 AM

Isn’t it’s hypocritical to be a Romney supporter after most of us have bashed Clinton and Kerry over very much similar things?

I think there a fundamental difference, that being this: Clinton et al are career politicians. Romney is not. He has been in the private sector and not had to forge opinions on various topics. Now that he has entered political life, we have his record to judge (on immigration the best says Tancredo) and he came down on pro-life every chance he got. If he were a career politician, say for example Huck’s long service or McCain’s, I would naturally assume a greater skepticism about changing position frequently.

As far as the dictionary thing, not clear what you mean, unless you are referring to the “saw” issue, which you are welcome to trumpet, but I think silly when most of have used that figuratively ourselves.
