And so we learn that there are in fact “endorsements” even Maverick won’t accept.
Nice job here by Craig Rivera in almost asking a coherent question. Almost.

I don’t think you will ever get enough states to ratify an ammendment that outlaws abortion. I do think that if Roe gets overturned you could see a suit in which abortion is declared unconstitutional because of the Life/liberty clause.
Otherwise I agree for now with the premise to get enough pro-life justices to overturn Roe and allow the states to decide for themselves.
It may not be the best option but at least it is acheivable.

Does it matter that he won’t accept? Just the fact that all the RINOs and far left wing nuts are endorsing this POS is enough to tell me who his friends are.
If Juan McRino gets the nomination, I stay home and watch the country fall apart under the democrats watch.

Good Morning boys and girls. Sorry It took me so long to log on this morning, but I slept like a rock. It must have been my peace of mind after the Crist endorsement and after Mac lowballed Romeny yesterday. Let’s dance.

Huck will drive folks like me AWAY from the coaltion.
Private faith is one thing, but when you start talking about changing the Constitution to fit your view of “God’s Law”… then your outa the pool..
We are already fighting against one intolerant religion, why would I wat ANY religion in POWER here?

The problem with Rudy straddling the fence on abortion is that one side or the other will come along and kick one of his feet out from under him.
Then that fence will be will be stuck up his a$$. (Right where it belongs on a fence sitter.)

Juan is falling apart on MTP with Russert NOW.

It’s a good thing that the respective candidates already have the staff in Florida. This one is going to be super close. Also, the early balloting is said to be a significant chunk of the electorate. New numbers show Giuliani falling to fourth. We may have a recount on our hands, ecspecially in Romeny loses the initial count. He probably figures he could write a check and win the second tally.

A little quote from Greg Gutman’s website:
“When the Republican leadership treats its basic common-sense membership with half the respect that the Democrats treat its nut-root Rosie fringe, this country will be much better off. ”
I’ll send that one to Bartlett’s!

Mitt Romney’s campaign manager is on right now sqirming mad. Who cares about Liz Cheney? When did she start having influence over anyone.

Factually inaccurate.

The polls in FL show both Mitt and McLiar trending up, with Mitt over taking McShamnesty. We’ll see what the polls say after this withdrawal time line lie that McForkedtongue is desperately trying to gain traction with has had it’s chance to affect public opinion. I still say it’s a bad move by McHatestaxcuts because it opens the door for Mitt to have a credible discussion on McToooldtobePOTUS emotional stability. The only thing that keeps McGrouchy under control now is his run for the presidency. Once he has the power, he’ll be more likely to start losing his cool on a regular basis.

THE CHOSEN ONE
———————-
Cheney is the Sensible, Republican Gay Vote……..
Yes, there are gays who vote republican because they don’t like to flaunt their gayness, but want economic stability for their investments and also fight terrorists…….
I would classify them in some subcategory of RINO….
awesum on January 27, 2008 at 12:41 PM
In less than twenty four hours Rommnee lost his five point lead. You don’t pull away twice. McVictory will be floating around Florida with Crist today and tomorrow, then in front of the Nation for the SOTU while “governor” romnlee is sitting on his tour bus down in florida. Did yall see how Bret Baer basically agreed with McCain that Romeny was a waffler?

I’m somewhat fuzzy in this area, but don’t individual states decide whether murder is a crime? Obviously, the state killing a citizen outside of a punishment scenario is forbidden by the Constitution, but I didn’t think there was any federal law forbidding “vanilla” civilian on civilian murder (not involving an interstate or international aspect). At the very least, enforcement of murder laws is up to individual states, and you could theoretically have a state with de facto legal murder, right?
viking999 on January 27, 2008 at 12:51 PM
You’re delusional. The latest polls have Mitt pulling away from McLiar. Having said that we will be getting a new poll with the results post the Crist and Cheney endorsements.

Who lifted the rock and let the Riveras out? What a stupid, stupid question……Bro.
oakpack on January 27, 2008 at 2:07 PM
Stop getting your polling info from Romeny’s website. There is a new Rasmueussen poll taken After the Crist endorsemnt. All Square again, it’s been on Drudge for three hours now.
THE CHOSEN ONE on January 27, 2008 at 2:09 PM
I’ve been away…did we talk about this yet?
I see it as the death knell for McCain. It turns out that his views on illegal aren’t nuanced, after all. He’s just a liar, and as proof we have one of the greasiest of the open borders MexiMafia on his effing campaign.
I thought it was a hateful distortion at first, but now National Review is quoting the McCain campaign the Juan Hernandez is an acknowledged consultant to the campaign. Good heavens, the guy is just too stupid to be my President.
Jaibones on January 27, 2008 at 2:16 PM
When you’re ready to get out of the Romper Room of political analysis, please let us know. Just as a clue for you….national polls don’t mean crap. Ask Rudy. Ask Fred.
Stick with the state wide polls. The latest FL RASMUSSEN poll (on Rasmussens page) has Mitt up by 6%. But I guess that’s a little inconvenient for you ain’t it?
csdeven on January 27, 2008 at 2:18 PM
And as I already pointed out to you, if you’d bother to be intellectually honest for a minute, that FL poll is before the Crist and Cheney endorsements. We’ll see what effect those have in a day or so.

Amnesty IS the issue that touches, colors and adds weight to every other urgent issue that we need to deal with in this country. With no order at the borders we have no country.

Why don’t people understand the Constitution?
The Constitution pertains to government action, with little to do with private action. The “life/liberty clause” pertains to government depriving people of such, not private citizens doing so. Because the American people have turned so liberal, they have lost sight of the distinction. Virtually nothing a person as a private citizen can do could be “unconstitutional.”
Now, on the other hand, to use the “equal protection” clauses to hold that murder and child abuse laws must be applied to (liberal phraseology here) “Unborn-Americans” would have some basis. By allowing “abortion on demand”–i.e., abortion when the mother’s life or wellbeing are so endangered as to justify acting with lethal self-defense–a state is depriving some people (another liberal phrase here: a “class of people”) of the protection of those laws.
There it is.

In Mark Twain’s famous quote, there are three kinds of lies: Lies, damned lies, and statistics.
Unfortunately, when you point out that Romney “has almost twice the delegates” McCain has, that’s a perfect example of statistics “lying.”
The actual delegate totals right now are Romney: 59, McCain: 40, and Huckabee: 36. Romney has nearly 50% more delegates than McCain, which is nowhere close to twice as many.
But worse than that, those proportions mean nothing when it takes 1191 delegates to win. To put it in perspective, ask how many more delegates each candidate would need to win:
Romney: 1191 – 59 = 1132
McCain: 1191 – 40 = 1151
Huckabee: 1191 – 36 = 1155
That’s a much more “truthful” statistic.
Of course, from that perspective, Fred Thompson only needs about 1185 more, so he’s only about 53 behind Romney. So while the statistics I just gave are better, they’re hardly the whole story either.
Anyway, delegate counts don’t feature heavily in figuring who’s the front-runner. Yet.
theregoestheneighborhood on January 27, 2008 at 7:10 PM
BTW, there’s more than one way to count delegates. Even though Romney is credited with 59 delegates, only 30 of them are “bound” to him right now. McCain has 29 who are bound. Huckabee only has 7 delegates bound to him so far.
Go to http://www.politico.com, then look on the right of the screen and click on “Delegate Totals” to see a breakdown. Notice they don’t even show Fred’s delegates, since he’s now out of the race.

Uh dude, Liz Cheney is Dick Cheney’s wife. She freaking controls Dick Cheney (not literally, of course.)
The left thinks Dick Cheney is Darth Vader irl, and wished him dead.
I don’t think there is a better endorsement, save Zombie Lincoln and Zombie Reagan.
BKennedy on January 28, 2008 at 3:29 AM
Uh…dude? Lynn Cheney is Dick Cheney’s wife. Liz is his daughter, and her particular weight in politics is that she is publicly known to be a lesbian, and has made political statements on related issues from time to time.
Jaibones on January 28, 2008 at 9:32 AM
Don’t know who was more horrified, McCain’s wife or McCain himself having to answer that question AND come up with at least two, TWO, conservative backers. ( he did struggle with that one).
.
at least Gerry “the Spittle” Rivera got this one right;
NEMESIS: an opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome.
