Asked what penalty would be imposed if Iraq failed to meet his benchmarks, [McCain] said: “I think everybody knows the consequences. Haven’t met the benchmarks? Obviously, then, we’re not able to complete the mission. Then you have to examine your options.”

Entelechy; I was referring to the 10:59 reply to my 10:49 post above. As with Beetlejuice, I’m afraid to say the names three times in a day, lest they be released into my reality. ;-)
Ok, now I know at least what ‘cases’ you were referring to.
Well, I think two of them are really Romney supporters, who as you said, use reverse psychology to get rid of Huckabee, to the extent that it can happen on a blog, which is questionable.
The Chosen one is the same, but ‘for’ McCain, and really for Romney.
I find them harmless and amusing. It’s amazing to me how much they can produce in a short time, and I’ve wondered who’s got that much time and energy. Must be that they’re either retired or semi-retired, with a great deal of information on the issues at their fingertips, and with some knowledge of the ‘regular’ HAirheads who engage them.
You may chose to engage them, or to watch, or to ignore. I think they’re pretty harmless. I’m not for bannings for just any reason.
Perhaps not a unique background combined with professional knowledge of behavioral analysis, but certainly a very uncommon one.
Thank you for the nice words. All about my life is unique and uncommon, and I love it exactly this way. “Common” is a dirty word in my dictionary. My life, as everyone’s can fill books. I should have a $10 bill for every time someone said “why don’t you write a book?”. I’m sure we all could, but only the significant people in Hollywood can sell them.
On point though, that dirt poor background, and all the opportunities created here, with much, much effort and daring, lots of daring to jump into the unknown, have been miraculous. I never cease to delight, in things big and small.
Have a very unique, challenging, and interesting job but don’t want to elaborate here.

There’s a woman who leads a life of mystery
To everyone she meets she says, I just can’t go into my current history
But with every word she lets slip another chance she takes
Odds are she’ll lose her cover some tomorrow
Secret agent woman, secret agent woman
They’ve given you a HA handle and taken away your name
Swingin’ in San Diego one day
Then sitin’ in front of a keyboard at HA alley next day
Oh no, don’t let the wrong words slip
While mixin’ it up with some persuasive pip?
Ah, be careful what you say
Or you’ll give yourself away
Odds are you’ll lose your cover some tomorrow
Secret agent woman, secret agent woman
They’ve given you a HA handle and taken away your name
Oh mysterious lady,

More to the point, I really find your latest advice quite silly. I gather that ‘giving advice’ has something to do with your profession, and as such you believe you are particularly qualified to dole it out, but whatever your skills are in that regard they don’t necessarily fit in this format.

I agree. If he were not such a fool he wouldn’t make foolish accusations that a commenter has stated something unless those charges can be verified with direct quotes from the trusty vault.
You can’t guarantee much here Buy Danish, and an intelligent woman like you knows this. I usually don’t find the need to clarify, but I want to be sure that I’m not sarcastic here, in the contrary, I’m very sincere. You might find this hard to believe, but I do respect your comments here, you then too, and admire your well-thought out support for Mitt Romney, who’s now my first position candidate. I hope that you don’t take the welcome mat out from my feet too.
p.s. I give no advice here, professional, or other, which is not qualified, either by implication, or stating so, to be just commentary. It’s free, and it can be ignored 100%, every time.
p.p.s. I love mimes. I love to watch them, and I find them to lead very sad lives. But I admire their hard and messy work.
Sometimes your advice tends to imply that you are wiser than the rest of us, and at that I take exception. Perhaps that is not your intention but it can be off-putting particularly when you use phrases like “your boy”. When you do that it does not come across as being friendly advice, and if my response to that was not warm and welcoming, you have your explanation.
I would hope that pointing that out would not affect your choice of a candidate, as it has no relevance whatsoever as to who is most qualified to lead this great nation forward.
If you want to say that HaraldHarHar might not be what he pretends to be, I would not disagree with you. However to ignore his idiotic comments just in case he might be inclined to vote for Mitt at some later date is the sort of pandering I refuse to engage in.
There is no evidence whatsoever that Harald secretly supports Mitt Romney, or would be inclined to vote for him at some time in the future. There is a lot of evidence that he is a fool.
Forget about it.. I am much smarter than that..
HaraldHardrada on January 27, 2008 at 4:08 PM
I’d suggest that if you’re as smart as you claim to be you’d try using Google to find this quote but since you know perfectly well it doesn’t exist it’s rather pointless under the circumstances.
McCain should never be trusted and never be President. He had better start to worry about his mess he wants to create with his Amnesty then saying lies about other candidates that he is jealous of like his lies about Romney.
Sometimes your advice tends to imply that you are wiser than the rest of us
BD, never considered myself wiser, or lesser wise than anyone. I don’t compare myself to others. People who do, if they take the ‘lesser’ approach, become bitter, and if they take the “better” approach become arrogant. I have no interest, nor inclination to be either.
Perhaps that is not your intention…
Indeed, it is not. It’s perhaps how we come across when we write, versus how we really are. Meant no such thing toward you, or anyone else.
I would hope that pointing that out would not affect your choice of a candidate, as it has no relevance whatsoever as to who is most qualified to lead this great nation forward.
Indeed, again. I think way more of our country, and the significance of the job of her president, than worrying about this or that personality here on HA, or other.
On HH, or anyone, obviously you may believe whatever you wish. It’s all just commentary, with very little consequence, one way or another.
2. Allahpundit characterizing these statements by McCain as hints opting for withdrawal …
“This is our last chance in many respects.”…
…
“It’s taken us four years to get into this debacle and it’s going to take some time to get us out,” he said.
… is the same smear, probably magnified…
BillINDC on January 27, 2008 at 3:51 PM
I think Allah was making the point that McLiar is a hypocrite. McCain is the one who began this game, not Mitt. Allah is pointing out that McCain is on the record saying exactly what he accuses Mitt of doing..
BD, it’s Harald, not Harold, he’s not a fool, and you may do whatever pleases you regarding the “mat”.
but clearly blogs, like talk radio, have some influence on opinion.
Talk radio does, blogs have little, yet, as AP has stated often, Rathergate notwithstanding. Maybe they will in the future have more weight. I think of them as a discussion/venting venue, not much more. Those here are already convinced, or make up their own minds, regardless of the blog masters/commenters’ opinions.
Wait….so you want me to go back thru hundreds of articles and search thru thousands of comments to prove you are a atheist bigot??
HaraldHardrada on January 27, 2008 at 4:08 PM
You said it wasn’t that long ago you silly 8itch. Post the link or apologize you sack of crap.
I would post over at “Video: McCain, Graham, Huckabee continue to smear Romney on Iraq” but the redlasso video player over there is a nuisance. No offense, but how many ports does it try to open just to view a clip? Nuh uh. Sorry, redlasso.
Some evidence that that your thesis about the influence of blogs and comments at blogs is not true:
Thanks BD. Personally I learn a lot through the links and opinions here. One conclusion I have come to is that a vote for Huck or McCain is no better than voting democrat. Their past voting records and statements leave no other way to see it for me.
I will chip in $$ if it will make Harald go away. I get so much enjoyment from reading HotAir comments – I have learned so very much. And. Then. We get hijackers. This blog is too good for this.
Romney suggested that withdrawal should be an eventual option. McCain wants an indefinite American military presence. So their positions are at odds, even if McCain is shamelessly misrepresenting Romney here.

I think Allah was making the point that McLiar is a hypocrite. McCain is the one who began this game, not Mitt. Allah is pointing out that McCain is on the record saying exactly what he accuses Mitt of doing..

I cannot believe people are supporting Romney for President. This.. this.. isn’t happening.
-apacallyps on January 27, 2008 at 5:40 PM
Woops! Doorbell rings, comment ends up on wrong thread. I will copy and paste my 5:38 and put it in it’s proper place.

I would disagree with that.
That’s not to say that my comments or your comments have consequence, but clearly blogs, like talk radio, have some influence on opinion.
If not, why would you suggest that I leave a welcome mat out for Harold the Fool?

BD, it’s Harald, not Harold, he’s not a fool, and you may do whatever pleases you regarding the “mat”.

I would post over at “Video: McCain, Graham, Huckabee continue to smear Romney on Iraq” but the redlasso video player over there is a nuisance. No offense, but how many ports does it try to open just to view a clip? Nuh uh. Sorry, redlasso.

Anyone know how can I get rid of the dash at the beginning of my name? My username is supposed to be just “apacallyps”.
-apacallyps on January 27, 2008 at 6:34 PM
Whatever.

Silence..crickets chirping…
-apacallyps on January 27, 2008 at 6:47 PM
And then there was silence. Dead silence. Crickets stopped chirping. Birds stopped singing. It was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop.

Some evidence that that your thesis about the influence of blogs and comments at blogs is not true:

Update!
I could even call that a Double Update since it shows what a worthless fool Harald is too, as I have been saying all along.

We’ll see how harmless he is.
He is not a real Christian. He’s a disgusting gibot.

Romney suggested that withdrawal should be an eventual option. McCain wants an indefinite American military presence. So their positions are at odds, even if McCain is shamelessly misrepresenting Romney here.
