Arafat’s blood hoax

The story of Arafat’s blood donation was reported around the world in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, usually accompanied by photographs depicting Arafat in the apparent act of giving blood at the Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Enderlin elaborated on his contention that the scene depicted in the photographs was staged. According to Pollak’s account of Enderlin’s remarks, “Arafat didn’t like needles, and so the doctor put a needle near his arm and agitated a bag of blood. The reporters took the requisite photographs.”
–
In neither photo is a needle in evidence. In the first AP photo, Arafat is prostrate. His blood has not yet been drawn and no blood is in evidence. Rather, Arafat stares warily at the tourniquet placed around his bare arm. The donation is about to be made. A nurse with a head scarf is about to search for the chairman’s vein, Arafat looking on at his arm.
In the other AP photo, Arafat has apparently given his blood. The nurse with the head scarf is nowhere to be seen. In her place, a kneeling male medical official with his back to the camera jointly holds a nearly bursting bag of blood together with a uniformed security officer. With Enderlin’s gloss, the photo takes on a comic aspect. Heavy lifting is required; it takes two hands to hold all the blood donated by the chairman to the beloved American people!
According to the report, Arafat staged the blood hoax to counteract scenes like this.
And the photographers on the scene were in on it.
What an irony. The man who invented modern terrorism, who inventing airplane hijacking, launched bloody intifadas, and orchestrated terrorist attacks all over the world for decade after decade — that man feared needles.

And yet I am the bad guy for wanting to kill every smiling piece of Sh*t in that video.
I spit on Palestinians.
JayHaw Phrenzie on January 26, 2008 at 11:32 AM
Well, with all the blood libels he uttered over the years, should a blood hoax be all that surprising?
Uncle Pinky on January 26, 2008 at 11:38 AM
And who would have wanted his blood anyway? Didn’t he have teh ghey? Didn’t he die of teh AIDS?
Dr.Cwac.Cwac on January 26, 2008 at 11:38 AM
Of course, his blood would not be appropriate to use, considering what sort of diseases he (allegedly) had. It was a pathetic joke when he did it and even more pathetic now.
mjk on January 26, 2008 at 11:38 AM
I hear tell, Dr.Cwac.Cwac, that Arafat had a few STD’s with AIDS being the biggest one. Considering it’s been said that he liked little boys and pretty young men, AIDS wouldn’t shock me too terribly much.
mjk on January 26, 2008 at 11:40 AM
Didn’t Arafat’s own Medical Doctor admitted that Arafat was gay and that he died from Aids…?
ZoneDaiatlas on January 26, 2008 at 11:41 AM
I heard that as well that Arafat’s own Medical Doctor admitted that Arafat was gay (Big NO NO in the Muslim World) and that he died of Aids…
ZoneDaiatlas on January 26, 2008 at 11:43 AM
Arafat don’t need no stinkin’ needles….he liked to “draw blood” the the old-fashioned way.
JetBoy on January 26, 2008 at 11:44 AM
Isn’t that doctor the Green Helmet Guy?

What did Jimmuh C#rter know, and when did he know it?
RushBaby on January 26, 2008 at 11:46 AM
So, when Arafat was told, “You’ll feel a little pinch…”
The guy actually pinched him?

tickleddragon on January 26, 2008 at 11:53 AM
This explains a great deal about Arafat’s close relationship with Carter. They both were afraid of their own shadow.
Well not really. One feared needles, the other rabbits.

Who the hell was this purported blood supposed to be going to?
Dracula?

14 years ago, BEFORE oslo, when I was studying in the W. Bank, there was no one, not one palestinian that personally, privately, would say they liked Arafat. They all hated him and his thugs, but the second a camera or official member of the press came close, or they followed one of his idiotic “strikes” they praised him and wept over him.
It was like a whole nation of battered wives.
There’s no way to make peace with a nation governed by thugs who have the rest all cowed into stockholm syndrome.
tlclark on January 26, 2008 at 12:14 PM
On September 11th, I went to the local blood bank to donate blood. I wasn’t the only one, there over a hundred people in line to donate. This was at a small collection center in a suburb of Pittsburgh.
I have no doubt that the same thing was happening all over the country.
The workers there took our names to call if we were needed. They had enough blood for the few survivors.
We sure as hell did not need blood shipped from overseas. Especially not diseased blood.

I fixd’ed it for you.

He died of AIDS, which was a Jewish conspiracy naturally. There were also allegations of certain alternative lifestyles and such. With the threat of being kicked out of his compound by Jewish soldiers it’s like an Arab version of RENT!

What’s fixd’ed?
Lot of nitpickers here today Bryan.

Midas, you will be right busy if you’ve taken on yourself to correct all typos. Good luck with that venture. :)

In giving or receiving blood, they use large bore needles. If one was used, it would have been easily seen.

From the guy who also gave us the Mohammed al-Dura hoax.
Thanks Charles Enderlin. You’re a credit to your industry.

Mr. Islam over at the Pentagon says Arafat was a sweet heart.
Huma/Huna* Abedin wants you to think that too.
We have to listen to these Muslims who some power has mercifully put in place to guide America to it’s destiny. Only Muslims understand Muslims and Islam.

Like, the guy is dead man. Let it go and get over it. Who cares anyhow?
DMeNTe on January 26, 2008 at 2:45 PM
So when Arafat and all those imams were walking around with all the little boys to avoid getting an Israeli missle up the ass, they’re just taking a walk with their wives?
urbancenturion on January 26, 2008 at 2:53 PM
Hijackings. These I think you’ll find predate the Palestinian actions of the late 60s.
As to Arafat being the “inventor of modern terrorism”, well, no, probably not that either.
DMeNTe on January 26, 2008 at 3:00 PM
LOL. It just occured to me. Speaking of irony.

Himmler, of the SS, made one, and only one, trip to a mass grave. He puked his guts out and never visited another site of his own organization’s atrocities ever again.

When your picture is painted all over the occupied-by-Philistines territories and they revere you as a hero (at least, Fatah does), then in a way you still live. Arafat’s image is still of great importance.
Tzetzes on January 27, 2008 at 4:54 AM
Was that blood letting or was someone trying to infuse sense into Arafat prior to his demise?
In either case, Arafat was a bloodsucker who was recalled by God due to many defects found in his mind.

“Boys of perpetual freshness”, of course.
Spiny Norman on January 28, 2008 at 12:21 AM
On the other hand though, it’s not really that surprising that a murderer who organized the death of innocent men, women and children was afraid of needles. Any coward can appear brave to other cowards and the simple minded while ordering another to blow themselves up in a shopping mall or day care center.
